Not what it used to be. Food hurt my stomach. I wouldn't recommend! Food was old or frozen before it was cooked . Not good.

The subs are excellent. Under the new management the Egg Foo Young is not as good as it was.

The veggie fried rice was great. The egg drop soup was great. The general tsos tofu was maybe the worst I've ever had. It's really hard to mess up tofu but they found a way. It tasted days old and less flavorful than actual tofu out of the packaging. Hard pass on ordering again. read more

You know how you order from a carry out for the four wings fried rice special, well you'd come here for the steak and cheese cuz it's that damn special! Ordered through Uber Eats...starving and less than 1/4 mile away my delivery arrived in what seems like an eternity. Ordered the shrimp/brocc and chicken/brocc which both came in measly portions along with tiny boxed white rice. The chicken and shrimp tasted looked like cat food likely tasting worse And the broccoli was drenched in mystery sauce because that was not soy. Omg! This place looks like it would be a complete disaster, but their Asian/American. Not real Asian food is quite amazing. I used to live within walking distance. This place isn't in a gray neighborhood, area, upcoming area, or anything great honestly within the last 30 years. I'd never consider going here unless the time I stumbled upon it. Holy crap! The General Tso wings are the best I've ever had. I literally go there from Rockville and Germantown to get them. They legit have great food. So the wings and fried rice that I got weren't good at all but the lady behind the bullet-proof counter/window was so nice that I'm giving them 3 stars. I also plan to go back to try a different meal.... C'mon China Sub Shop! Ya can't have bad Mambo Sauce, bad fried colossal wings and bad fried rice in the DMV! That's totally unacceptable! Since it's so close to my house I've eaten there more than a few time. I've tried a few things that include shrimp egg foo young, egg rolls, lo mein, and shrimp fried rice. I keep going back since this is the most convenient carry out and I get disappointed EVERY time. First, I had the egg foo, nasty egg patties... the sauce tasted off. Then I tried the egg rolls, the grease was old and had a bitter aftertaste. Finally, I say... you know what, let me try the shrimp fried rice, how can They mess that up. All their dishes just lack that extra flavor and desire to want more. I'm sure their business will never let up because it's a convenient Carry out and it's always business but i just needed to voice my opinion. I went there last night 9/15/2014. My husband and I ordered 2 sandwiches (Chicken Cheesesteaks), 2 Mystic drinks, and a small wonton soup. Without ringing up or calculating the meal the lady at the counter says $31.38. That's an outlandish price for 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, and a small soup. So I ask her "How much were the sandwiches". Immediately she yells, "Oh you got green peppers and mushrooms so It's an extra $2.50". My husband didnt want to argue so he paid, but it keep irritating me. There are menus taped to the walls, so I took my iphone and calculated the meal. On the menu the sandwiches were $9.45. A small wonton soup was $1.85 -- even with the extra 2.50 that takes the total to 23.25. I said this to the lady and she pointed out the drinks. She said drinks are 2.50 (when has a 12 oz Mystic ever been 2.50!), I said okay-- that brings the total to 28.25. I asked her to give me the original receipt--she couldn't find it ofcourse, and gave me a receipt where the values were made up to reflect the faulty pricing. She rang up both sandwiches at 11.00 (sandwiches at restaurants aren't usually 11 dollars!) and the soup at 3.00. It seemed like she was trying to justify trying to swindle us, but the prices didn't match the menu. They count on people who don't bother to read the menu or count. It was 9:30 at night, we were both tired after getting off work and just didn't have the energy to fight over a few dollars but BE AWARE-- THEY WILL TRY TO CHEAT YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY AND INFLATE THE PRICE OF THE FOOD. I used to come here every once in a while "off the late night leaving the club and I'm hungry" lol- but I decided to grab some food during the day. I ordered some wings and fries... When I came to pick up my order I saw the cook frying more chicken and dropped some wings on the floor. Yes, he looked me dead in the eye, bent down, and tossed the wings back in the pan. I told the lady who rang me up that I wanted a refund because of what I just saw. Her response "that not your food. Your food already bag up see?". I kindly replied "how do I know if mine wasn't dropped on the floor? Refund please." She gave me my money back and said something to the cook in their language. China sub shop is a step above the other Chinese food joints I've visited around the NW Washington. Prince George's, and Montgomery county area. Not in appearance, but the taste of the food is right. I couldn't see everyone working but I did see a few ladies arms shaking the woks, taking and bagging orders, and keeping thing moving efficiently. Solid! read more

Listen, its Chinese take-out!! don't hold your breath for any outlandish feast, but will say, I visit this place (sad to say) around 3-4 times a month. With the work schedule that I have, getting off at 11 at night, I just want to grab a bite to eat and have a nice variety. Wings with (mumbo on side) with fries or fried rice (4of5) I don't really like their mumbo sauce, and sometimes their wings are super oily. but when the wings are fresh and popping, HONEY!!! Shrimp and broccoli (3of5) I love their shrimp and broccoli flavor. At times the shrimp can be mushy or over cooked. but you know, you get tired of getting the same things sometimes. Steak and cheese(5of5) no complaints. always cooked to order. shrimp basket (3of5) meh, I rather go next door and grab some FRESH shrimp and fry them myself. half and half (2of5) I've never seen them pour the half and half in the cup before coming here, and when I tell you, I found out they used Arizona iced tea lemonade mix. -_- steak and cheese egg roll (3 or 4of5) hit or miss. catch 'em when they're fresh. I will say, parking is a nightmare, homeless men come in there asking if you can buy them food, and stranger things has happen while I sit in my car waiting for my food. I bought wings from this place about 3 weeks ago. The wings were fried and tainted. I was sick for almost 2 weeks. I will never, ever, ever, ever buy food from here again. The Maryland Dept. of Health needs to investigate. I guarantee that they will find them unsanitary. read more
