Tried this the other night under what I understand are the new owners and it was awesome! Sooo hot when we brought it home I burned my fingers taking it out of the bag which is how I like my food. We ordered the General Tso's chicken combo with pork fried rice. Not only was the dish 5 star but the rice was mind blowing! Btw, I never get pork fried rice because it's usually greasy and tastes like old oil. This was so fresh including the peas & other veggies and not greasy. The broccoli with General Tso's was equally as fresh. The egg roll was huge and hot, delicious and fresh too! My friend picked it up but it's the order at a counter kind of place and we were given 2 bags of fried noodles and 3 fortune cookies along with napkins, plasticware and chopsticks. You help yourself to the soy and duck sauces and hot mustard packets. Why 4 stars? The wonton soup needs work. No green onions, bland (but you can add soy sauce obviously) and the meat was weird to me. He has already gone back for lunch a couple days later. They were busy yet quick! Our new spot. Eastern Garden has become my go to spot for Chinese food. I can't find anything even close my favorite place in New York so I have adjusted my expectations. I am a self-proclaimed food snob and I can count on one hand the number of places in Central Florida that can even hold a candle to food in New York. I haven't had anything from Eastern Garden that I didn't like. I always get the crab rangoon which has a slightly sweet flavor that I love. I usually order two orders so I can reheat the leftovers in my air fryer. Their lunch specials are a great deal (served on the weekends too) and they have a wide variety of options. My go-tos tend to be the shrimp with lobster sauce and their chicken with broccoli or moo goo gai pan. They come with a nice selection of sides. My choice is usually pork fried rice and plain lo mein (for a slight up charge but definitely worth it). You also get soup, either wonton or egg drop. I prefer egg drop. I love their wonton/egg drop combo but that isn't one of the options for the lunch deal. The portion sizes are huge! I typically get 3 meals out of one lunch combo. The food is nice and flavorful and they veggies are perfectly cooked, nice and crunchy. My only complaint is that the food tends to be a bit on the greasy side. But now I know that and don't mind. I highly recommend Eastern Garden. Go during their lunch hour! read more

Just when I've totally given up on good, New York style Chinese food, Eastern Garden hits the mark. This is the real deal, reminiscent of the Cantonese style Chinese food we had growing up in Brooklyn. New owners make all the difference in the world. The egg rolls are huge, hot and crispy. The Roast Pork with Chinese Vegetables was delicious, chock full of roast pork and fresh vegetables in a delightful and flavorful sauce. The mixed wonton/egg drop soup was great as well. Before this, Kim Wu and Jim-Bo were my go to's before they both pulled up stakes. I only wish they had a full sit down service restaurant. read more

Was looking for a Chinese restaurant in Oviedo that had egg foo young on the menu. Many don't, surprisingly but Eastern Garden did. I ordered via Grub hub, which made it a little pricey but it was worth it, plus, we are trying to social distance. We had Pork Egg foo young, chow mei fun, some fried chicken wings and fried rice. Everything was good and on point, they even poked holes in the packaging so the chicken would stay crispy. . It has salted turnip, chinese wood ear, tofu, egg, and mushroom. I've got to say, every time I have had it was on the money. Usually every other chinese restaurant, their hot and sour is maybe too bland or too much dark soy, but this one is very good. The krab rangoon is awesome! Its got your usual imitation krab, cream cheese and its either mayo or sour cream but it makes the filling a little sweet and creamier. Whatever it is, its delish...even better when its piping hot. The shrimp lobster sauce is good too. The shrimp you get here is fresh and its big. I was suprised. It was like 1/2 inch shrimp! It was like real legit shrimp here with the sauce and peas and carrots. Singapore rice noodle was also a good choice - nice curry, and the usually rice vermicelli. Nowing for the meh... I'm pretty sure they put MSG in their dishes cause my mouth was sooo thirsty, so if that bothers you..maybe you can request not to have any in there. This was literally the worst chinese food I have ever had in my life. Even the fried rice was overcooked and super hard with no flavor. I don't understand how you mess up fried rice. I bought about 5 different items off the menu that day and everything was terrible. They forgot fortune cookies which what Chinese resturaunt forgets that. We stopped to pick up dinner; the combos were under $8 and include fried rice and an egg roll. The sesame chicken was quite good - loved how the chicken was crispy and hadn't soaked up the sauce and gone soggy, though the sauce was a bit too sweet for my tastes. We also ordered shrimp lo mein and it was good too, however, the shrimp were quite small. Everything came out piping hot. The best part was that the egg rolls weren't greasy, yet nice and crisp. There's a lot of choices on the menu, your traditional Chinese take-out fare, of course, and the place looked clean. Although I'm not sure their delivery area, they do deliver if you order $15+. Had a great meal at Eastern Garden tonight on Christmas Eve. We needed some tofu options and they had a few on the menu that worked for us. The tofu with garlic sauce was fantastic and the kids loved the vegetable stir fry with tofu too. I haven't had flavorful Chinese in the area in a while and was very happy with the taste, quality, and freshness here. Crisp fresh broccoli and carrots in each meal along with mushrooms, water chestnuts, green peppers, and baby corn. The tofu was prepared very nicely too and was actually flavorful itself. The staff was very nice too and the restaurant was clean and smelled nice. Couldn't really ask for more. I'm not surrounded in Oviedo by great Chinese restaurants, this place isn't perfect, but it is a step above everything else I've tried in the area. When we get Chinese we only eat the tofu options, and they can be spares and flavorless, so it was a nice surprise here. read more

Chicken fried rice very bland using yellow rice and frozen peas and carrots - no real flavor at all. Chicken and cashews were also very bland even in the brown sauce. Chicken pieces not high quality either. Chicken Mei Fun was also very bland with a very, very slight flavor, otherwise quite bland. Got two free egg rolls for an order over $20. I live near this this establishment and have Eaten inside and ordered take out. I can honestly say they never have the food ready when they say. It's always at least 10-15 minutes after the time they give us. And, they don't care if the food is not ready when they say. My suggestion is that if you call, arrive 10 min after they say it will be done. The food itself is not bad. What makes me nervous is the cleanliness. I would not recommend eating inside there.
