Not impressed and seriously wondering how this place has 4.7 stars. My brother and I decided to dine in. It has an older feel with very uncomfortable chairs. It was also very cold, which prompted me to order the coconut lemongrass soup. We got it with tofu and wished we didn't order it at all. The mushrooms were very overcooked and the soup was missing the cilantro topping. I asked the server if there were any Thai green chilis, and she brought me a caddy with chili paste and chili flakes. I was disgusted with the rusty lids. That cannot be safe to use for food storage The next thing we ordered was the spicy eggplant which was not spicy at all. We requested during our order that it be Thai spicy. The server said okay but our request was not honored. The eggplant was in a sweet sauce, totally differing from what we expected to get. It was also mostly peppers, and not a lot of eggplant, leaving us disappointed. Our last main dish was the green curry. This is my absolute go to and how I measure the quality of Thai restaurants. Unfortunately this did not meet the mark. The chicken was extremely overcooked and chewed just like a piece of beef jerky. There was cucumber in there instead of zucchini (not sure if the chef got the two mixed up) but it was a very soggy and water logged vegetable, and it was reheated too many times or heated at too high of a temperature, causing the sauce to break and left it thick in some parts with the oil separated on the top. As much as I would love to recommend this place to others, I fear I cannot. It doesn't seem like quality of food or food safety is taken into consideration. I am extremely disappointed. read more

We ordered via DoorDash. Our crispy chicken fried rice had 5 tiny strips of soggy chicken that wasn't even enough for my kid to eat, let alone an adult. The pad kee mao came spicy even though we requested no spice. What a total flop. Charging $40 for these 2 dishes was a waste and we are so disappointed! read more

I love love love when a Thai restaurant serves their Tom Kha in a festive dish. It was heated in style. They do have a different name for it here, coconut lemongrass soup. The taste was a bit more sweet than most Thai restaurants I've been to. Service was ok and probably needed another server then just one for a Friday afternoon. I liked the parking situation for this location. There was a few available street parking and they even have a parking lot next to them and close by. Entrance is on lot side as well but the main entrance is on the street side. I enjoyed the roti but curry sauce was a bit bitter than most other Thai locations. Pricing was reasonable. Definitely a great location for dates, friends and family for a delicious meal. read more

Really good Thai food! We ordered the coconut lemongrass soup, duck curry, pad thai, and spicy basil. The soup was warm and just the right balance of sweet and savory. The duck in the duck curry was tender and well flavored. The pad Thai sauce was very flavorful. Service was a little slow / just one person serving the full restaurant - but not a big issue. One thing to note is the restaurant closed at 2 and not 3. By 2 we were the last ones remaining in the restaurant. read more

I've been here twice for lunch, and will be back. The food is quite good, the cost is reasonable, and service is friendly and fast and casual enough for lunch. The first time, I had Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) -- my test dish for any Thai place. I had it with shrimp, which were cooked to perfection. My second time, I had the Pad eggplant with shrimp. Came here with a friend. It was completely empty at 6p. When we walked in we were told that the credit card system was down. For once in my life I had cash so we stayed. Good was great. The one employee we interacted with was helpful. Food was great. I tried the roti and curry and the fried tofu. Just ordered the shrimp wonton soup (spicy) and it did not disappoint! Was looking for a soup that could help clear up my congestion and found it here. The bak choy, green onions, bean sprouts, cilantro were all fresh and made the soup tasty. The spice was completely there and there was not shortage of noodles or wontons! Highly recommend. Have also had the pad sew ew and dumplings before, and it was fresh and not overly greasy. Would definitely order those again! read more

What a great addition to the Martinez food scene. I hang out in Martinez periodically and often grab a bite to eat while there. Today, I had the pleasure of mistakingly walking into Sisaket Thai Kitchen, thinking it was Ginger Thai. This mistake had a silver lining. Here's why: Food: I ordered the green curry and brown rice and mushroom dumplings. Everything was delicious. The mushroom dumplings seem to have steamed and then finished on the stove top, which created both tenderness and crispiness. That was epic. Not only were they physically appealing, the taste was unbeatable. I also loved the green curry with brown rice. The bell peppers were aldente, just as I like them. Conversely, the eggplant was perfectly soft, but not overcooked. The spice level was perfect, too. Service: There was only one wait staff when I entered. That was fine, as the restaurant had only opened minutes before for dinner service (4:30 PM). The waiter, a young woman from Thailand, I found out, was both charming and knowledgeable. She suggested several vegan options to me. Her recommendations were spot-on. Ambiance: I love how they have re-designed the space. The ambiance is so warm and welcoming. Honestly, I think that candles would be a great touch. I would also recommend playing either instrumental music or music from Thailand. The latter would help approximate what being in Thailand might actually feel like. Very minor suggestions for your consideration. Again, I highly recommend Sisaket Thai Kitchen. The portion size was extremely small. I actually had thought they forgot something in my order. The spicy seafood only fed half of a person. The pad see ew very dry and the beef was extremely overcooked. There was hardly any flavor. The husband picked up some food for us here because the last Thai restaurant, that was in this same location, closed. We loved that last Thai restaurant and were very hesitant in getting food here. We were wrong. It is delicious! I had the mango yellow curry and would definitely have it again. And my husband got the chicken yellow curry, he loved his as well. Something that I really appreciated is that the dish comes with rice, no paying extra for rice. We were in the area and decided to wait around until 4 for their dinner service. I am so glad we did, the food was amazing. Our server Ken was extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. The restaurant was clean and cozy and our service was fast. I had the roasted duck massaman curry and my wife and daughter shared the yellow curry. This place is off the beaten path but worth the extra few blocks from Main Street. The ambiance is relaxed and a great place for date night. The food is out of this world. For our anniversary dinner, my wife and I had to figure out what else to do while we still had the sitter! Mango salad: really nice, perfect flavors, fresh herbs add a lot. Salmon fried rice: salmon was a full helping, rice was good if not super interesting. Duck curry: okay, the duck was more skin and fat than meat, maybe we got a bad cut. This used to be Ginger Thai but they're under new ownership! The food is DELICIOUS. We're bummed they don't have Rad Na anymore but everything else we usually order was phenomenal. Still our favorite Thai place in Northern California. (And we've been to them all). The yellow curry and pineapple fried rice were the best we've had. I decided to try this place out because I used to visit Ginger Thai, which was the previous Thai restaurant in this building. I tried the pumpkin curry , pad thai, and the thai ice tea. The Pumpkin Curry was so good. They included a lot of different vegetables for the vegetarian option. The Thai tea is a little too sweet and wasn't my favorite. The pad Thai was very solid pad Thai. We happened upon this restaurant and parked right in front of the entrance - so very fortunate to have done so! Sisaket Thai Kitchen just opened yesterday (January 17, 2025) and is having its soft opening with 10% off; such a great time to check out this wonderful new restaurant, right on the main thoroughfare on Ferry Street in downtown Martinez! Ambiance is elegant and welcoming , tastefully decorated with beautiful Thailand artifacts but the staff is very hospitable and personable, greeting us as well as checking on our satisfaction through our meal. Ken, the manager explained that "Sisaket" is one of the regions in Thailand and the original location is in Berkeley, so this is their second location! We had soju, hot and cold Thai tea from the extensive drink menu and enjoyed the very delicious and satisfying Mango salmon salad and Sue Long Hai (Thai style grilled USA choice ribeye served with house sauce and side steamed broccoli with sticky rice). Needless to say, our plates were completely clean at the end of our epicurean adventure at Sisaket Thai Kitchen. A must return in the near future!! read more
