    a takeout box of food

The young ladies who were working for their parents are SO NICE! Such sweet girls. The female owner was really rude. I spent $10.50 on a 'grilled combo' for lunch and it's kind of tasty but jeeze... there's hardly any food here. Maybe I'm a fat kid, but I opened the container and wanted to cry. I'm used to Chinese food being plentiful, cheap and getting two meals out of it. His is my second time getting Chinese food in Keene. Last time I went to Kings Garden, and I got SO MUCH and spent less.... so needless to say the food is good, but if there was more of it, that would be great and they'd get five stars for sure. Lower your prices or give more food with he orders ‍ I'm not sure if I'll go back. I guess if I want tasty food, that's expensive but a very small portion, I'll go back. There's a monster can next to the container for size reference.

    The standard box you'll receive.

I'm surprisingly disappointed by their service. Two of the four meals we got to go were wrong- them not putting noodles for a meal that specifically mentioned noodles on the menu. The pork fried rice was poorly mixed and tasteless. I found clumps of white rice stuck together in mine. The egg roll was more roll than things inside of it, making it difficult to chew. The best part of my order was their rangoons. Don't waste your time.

    Where's the egg, veggies, pork?

I live near here and have ordered a few times I'm done with them. If you dissect the chicken fingers, there is almost no chicken. If you put their beef sticks up against any others in the area they about 1/3 the size. If you order pork fried rice, it is pretty much only rice. (See picture). They do not deliver for orders under $15. The food tastes ok, but there is absolutely no value and never leftovers. You'll pay about $10 for a standard meal and get about $1 worth of ingredients.

Best Chinese food in the Monadnock Region. I especially enjoy the hot and sour soup and sesame chicken.

23 Dec 25, driving from Ct to northern Vt, roads got bad and pulled off in Brattleboro for a hotel…read more Saw this restaurant close to hotel and said " we could do some Chinese food". I ordered the Szechuan beef and beef lo mein, wife had California dinner, 3 cali rolls and a small salad. Wifey said they were fantastic, super fresh, she loved it. My beef and lo mein was the bomb, never had Szechuan beef before, but this was so tasty, didn't skimp on meat, not to spicy, same with lo mein. Put it this way folks, where we are in CT, you can throw a stone and hit dozens of Chinese, Japanese, sushi, or Thai places, heck we even have Tibetan one. We could drive 20 min and hit 30-50 more. But Jon were as good as this place, we laughed and said to each other " hey do u want Chinese food ? Yeah. Welll where do u want to go ? Let's go to Brattleboro!!!! " That's an hr and 15 min away. We also joked, but had some seriousness to it, they need to bring this place down to CT or someplace down in CT needs to steal this chef !

We had the fried rice lunch special, and the shrimp with lobster sauce lunch special. They both came with egg drop soup. It was about $30, which is pretty reasonable. There was a ton of food. They also pack it in a hot bag, which is great. Speaking of which, the food was VERY hot. The fried rice was delicious and I really enjoyed the shrimp with lobster sauce. My husband loved the egg drop soup. A great place to stop for lunch in Brattleboro!

We stopped in for dinner and got: - "Pan-fried" Peking raviolis - Beef with ginger and scallion hotpot. First, the raviolis came out deep-fried, not pan-fried. Which is fine, but there is a difference and should be reflected on the menu. They were good, but being fully fried, the texture is different from a pan-fried dumpling. Next, the beef hotpot. It came out in a sizzling bowl. It was a large portion of beef, mushrooms, and vegetables (mostly onion). The flavor was okay. Certainly nothing offensive, and it was good, although a bit oily, but it was lacking an OOMPH. I wish it had more ginger flavor. Or maybe fermented black bean - that would have kicked it up a notch. There are actually two separate spaces here: 1 is the dining area, and 1 is a bar and lounge. Both spaces can order the full menu. The dining space was clean and casual. The staff working there were very nice and super friendly. From our experience, it's a middle-of-the-road Chinese restaurant, a place I'd go again but not a place I'd go out of my way for.

Everything is made fresh to order from the thick, hand-pulled noodles, dumplings, and scallion pancakes. Ordering is quick and casual. You place your order at the back right counter when you walk in (for dine-in or takeout), and the cashier also acts as your server. If you order a noodle soup, they'll ask if you want green onions and/or cilantro. After that, just grab any open table and relax. We ordered a variety of dishes. Appetizers: Scallion pancakes: (3/5) nice crispy pancakes with scallions. Dumplings with pork and leeks: (3/5) tender dumplings filled with pork and some leeks Spicy stewed beef noodle soup: (4/5) thick hand pulled noodles in a savory broth topped with vegetables like bok choy and mushroom and some tender beef Hot and sour vermicelli soup: (4/5) very tangy savory broth with tender vermicelli noodle and ground pork. Medium spicy level Biang Biang noodles with pork: (4/5) their signature hand-pulled noodles are sautéed in a medium spicy sauce with pork. Overall this place hits the spot for an authentic Chinese meal without the glitz and glamour.
