I love Chinese food and I'm picky- I lived in NYC for a long time. We got takeout a week ago- the chicken and cashews may be the best I've ever had! They know how to make proper chow mein too (no one else around here does), and the house special fried rice is also good. It's true that the quality of the food at this place has changed every few years- it was pretty bad only a year or two ago. I live nearby and would get take out once a month. Always polite and the order was ready on time. Last few times it seems the cook or the recipe has changed. Chicken fingers and rangoons were very greasy and the fried rice was practically white with no flavor. Will be a long while before I go there again. read more

The young ladies who were working for their parents are SO NICE! Such sweet girls. The female owner was really rude. I spent $10.50 on a 'grilled combo' for lunch and it's kind of tasty but jeeze... there's hardly any food here. Maybe I'm a fat kid, but I opened the container and wanted to cry. I'm used to Chinese food being plentiful, cheap and getting two meals out of it. His is my second time getting Chinese food in Keene. Last time I went to Kings Garden, and I got SO MUCH and spent less.... so needless to say the food is good, but if there was more of it, that would be great and they'd get five stars for sure. I'm surprisingly disappointed by their service. Two of the four meals we got to go were wrong- them not putting noodles for a meal that specifically mentioned noodles on the menu. The pork fried rice was poorly mixed and tasteless. I found clumps of white rice stuck together in mine. The egg roll was more roll than things inside of it, making it difficult to chew. Excellent Chinese Food. I'm always so impressed by how much their food actually tastes like food and not just grease! I tend to order Fried Rice or Rice Noodles, both of which are incredibly filling and definitely cover me for two meals minimum. I love the veggie/meat/rice ratio in both of these meals. The rice tastes closer to an aromatic rice (not Minute Rice), which makes my mouth quite happy! We've never had trouble with staff, food is delicious and plenty, and I think it's probably the highest quality in Keene. I definitely recommend! read more

I live near here and have ordered a few times I'm done with them. If you dissect the chicken fingers, there is almost no chicken. If you put their beef sticks up against any others in the area they about 1/3 the size. If you order pork fried rice, it is pretty much only rice. (See picture). They do not deliver for orders under $15. The food tastes ok, but there is absolutely no value and never leftovers. You'll pay about $10 for a standard meal and get about $1 worth of ingredients. read more

I love this place! It's by far the best Chinese food in Keene though I would not "eat in". It is definitely a take out place. Their lo mein is great, typical lo mein but delicious all the same. I think they have the best egg rolls I've ever tasted... Many places have egg rolls that have a lot of celery so of you like celery in your egg rolls then this is not the place for you. My meal would have been OK as a $5 luncheon special but it cost $9. Modest serving of chicken with cashews with a few small cashews. The predominant flavor was salt. Lots of fried rice but it was 99% rice. Bland egg roll but at least it wasn't greasy. Overall it seemed as though they were trying to cut costs to the bone while still serving edible food. Success on edible and cost cutting, but the cost savings are not passed on to the customer. Reviews are split between very positive and very negative. I am guessing it depends on whether the reviewer focuses on "edible" or on what they expected when they saw the prices. read more

Love this place for Chinese takeout when in Keene. My favorite dish is the Singapore rice noodles Szechuan style - spicy, curry-infused rice noodle deliciousness! The dish usually is made with shrimp, and they accommodate omitting the shrimp for those with allergies. read more

This is the best Chinese restaurant in town. It's not a place I'd go and eat at, but their to go orders never disappoint! I rarely order something "as is" off the menu due to picky eaters in my house. They have NEVER gotten a phone order wrong - I don't even check before leaving. They are super fast and food is not greasy. My favorite dish is the curry chicken (with green pepers only). One order will last me 3 meals. I think their prices are worth every penny - competitive but not unreasonable due to quality and accuracy. The only thing I don't like is that they aren't open Mondays - but I wait rather than calling another establishment! read more

By far and away this is the worst Chinese food in Keene! Plus the people there are rude and unwilling to assist their customers. I ordered the Tangerine beef lunch special. Besides the portion being mostly tangerine peels, spicy peppers, and Broccoli, the beef was horrible. The batter was grainy and soft, and the beef was stringy and tasteless. My meal was supposed to come with pork fried rice, it did not. When we called and asked where it was the rude man on the phone informed us we need to ask for it, even though the menu clearly states that it is included with the meal. I can easily say this is the most horrible, and substandard meal I have had in a very long time.!! Stay away this place is terrible. The food is very good, the staff takes orders primarily by the menu designation (i.e. D3, etc.) to quicken the process. Best thing to do, is to order ahead. It can become extremely busy on weekend nights and during the Superbowl, especially if you have a large order. read more

Right off the bat, I am a FAN of Chinese restaurants and Keene, NH. This was my third Chinese place I went to for lunch with my boyfriend at the time before he ran over my motorcycle and left me. But besides the chaos, lets just focus on the food, shall we? This was probably my worst Chinese place I have EVER went to... Here is why. The people are just darling, and are too good for this shithole of a place. Some people who work there cannot speak good English, but hey at least they try. BUT they do not try when it comes to the food they are serving. I ordered a bowl of rice, a small one. When it had got to me, it looked like a huge fishbowl full of rice. Brown rice. I was very annoyed on how the sizes were, and I was also wondering if it was even worth it. NO. The rice tasted like it was TOO over seasoned with hot knock off spices you would usually see Mexicans sell at the black market. The rice texture was very hard, and I doubt it was even cooked fully. The next thing I ordered were Crab Rangoons, which every American probably dies for when they go to a Chinese food place. I always test Crab Rans, and they always are different but in good ways. But this was not the case. The Crab Rangoons were just AWEFUL. The crab inside was very cold, and it reminded me of low fat cream cheese. The inside was so thick that I couldn't even chew, and the wrap was also very hard, as if it had been sitting in the sun for quite some time. Give it 2000 years? The last thing I ordered was Won Ton soup. If the Won Ton wasn't even passable, then I have to give up right here. And of course, it sucked too. The won ton soup looked like dish water. It was in a (somewhat looking) unclean bowl. The bowl was very scratched up on the outside, and I could see right inside that it was also somewhat shattered with some porcelain coming off. This made me sick. I cannot believe I ordered three servings of these different kinds of grotesque foods hoping that they might be good. I am so unpleased with this Chinese restaurant, that I really made an effort to try and it failed me. FAILED. I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE. If anyone who works there is reading this, please fix your dining ware, and also fix how you cook the food. The food is absolutely terrible that if you fed it to the vouchers that they wouldn't even bother pecking at it. Please take this into consideration, and don't screw up like I did. read more
