Very good Chinese food! Great value!! I'm so happy I didn't have to pay $15 an entree!! We were happy with the garlic chicken and lo mein but the kung pao chicken was not quite what we expected.. it was just ok but we will be back to try other things!

This place is about as good as it gets to Chinese food here in the wake forest area. We lived in Maryland and my husbands Filipino so were a bit particular about our Chinese. We typically order Lo mein, egg rolls and general tsos. Last time we got the crispy beef because of some recommendations on here and it was REALLY good. The beef was crispy but flavored in a sauce very similar to general tsos. I had never had it before but will definitely order it again. I love the veggie lo mein because its packed with lots of veggies. They do NOT skimp outon them! Service is about average of what you can expect for a take out place. But your food is always cooked promptly. I've never waited for any really amount of time. It's always pretty clean inside when I pick up my food! I just wish they would deliver!!

I have ordered take out from this place several times over the last year and absolutely love it. The have the best Crab Rangoons around. I would highly recommend that if you give it a try and plan on eating there dress on the cool side as it is always got but other than that the place is always clean and the staff is always friendly and they have never messed up an order.

Sweet sour chicken, chicken fried rice, egg roll. I ordered it w/o veggies. The rice looks dark here b/c I added soy sauce b4 I took pic.

Food was ok. Not sure if I will go back though. I didn't care for the Hot and Sour soup and that is what makes my meal.

We couldn't decide which was better, they were both delicious, not at all the cafeteria restaurant soup we almost expected, but very homemade. $5 a cup, but $3.90 since we ordered lunch menu items. Well worth the money! Lunch was Fish 'n Chips for me; super good crispy fried white fish, not greasy at all, which is the sure fire way to ruin any fried meal. The fries are really good, too, almost McDonaldy. Comes with tartar, ketchup, malt vinegar (asked for), and a really good garlic aioli. Hubs had Shrimp Risotto, which was blackened shrimp over really creamy risotto with red peppers, scallion, and tomato. Delicious. Also couldn't decide who got the better lunch. Our lunch specials were less than $15 each, a bargain today, and we each took half home. Hubs also had a beer, and I had the house Cabernet, which was really smooth. Around $50 for everything; didn't mind spending that at all since everything was so good. Really glad we found this newer place; fingers crossed it doesn't go the way of so many downhill the longer they're here.

After running errands, we drove just six minutes to El Chapin, a Guatemalan restaurant. Forget Tex-Mex--this is a completely different Latin cuisine experience. The two of us spent $76 (including tax and tip), but we intentionally ordered extra to take home leftovers. Parking was easy, right out front, and the restaurant itself is spacious. Since we arrived just a few minutes after opening, we had the place to ourselves at first and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and very helpful--the server even suggested we might have ordered too much food (he was right, but we didn't mind!). Here's what we tried: Plato Chorizo y Longaniza - a sausage platter with salad, rice, refried black beans, and two delicious housemade corn tortillas. Pollo Adobado - marinated chicken with rice, salad, refried black beans and two housemade corn tortillas . Ceviche de Camarón - fresh and tangy, though light on shrimp, which tasted a bit tough Fried Plantains - perfectly done, sweet, and satisfying. Plus, I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The highlights for me were the flavorful rice (with vegetables mixed in, including carrots and squash), the marinated chicken, and the sausages. The plantains were also excellent. The ceviche had great flavor but could've used more shrimp. The only miss for me was the salad--generous in portion but iceberg-based, so a bit bland. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, not heavy or greasy, and we left with enough for another one or two meals. We'll definitely be back.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were very generous. My husband ordered the Seafood platter and couldn't even finish it because there was so much food. I had the combo platter with shrimp and flounder, and it was outstanding. Every bite was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. A special shoutout to our server, Lily, who made our experience even better. As first-time visitors, we appreciated how friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful she was. She answered all of our questions, made great recommendations, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Between the excellent food, generous portions, and outstanding service, Backfins Crab House earned a return visit from us. We can't wait to come back!

I had a fried seafood combo, which included approximately 12 fried oysters, one ample-sized flounder, fries, and coleslaw. (I won't get the coleslaw again. It contained way too much liquid.) It was my daughter's bday, and she is pregnant, and she ordered a crazy amount of food, including a seafood boil, but it was steamed. She also got the key lime pie for dessert. She and her husband said that the crab legs were not their favorite. Daughter said they tasted "fishy." The waitress was perfectly attentive and provided everything we required throughout the meal.We brought bakery cupcakes to the restaurant and were pleased to discover there was no upcharge for bringing in food. Our waitress even supplied plates for us to eat our cupcakes on!

You really do 'get what you pay for'. The bar and dining area are casual, modern and inviting. There is also a spacious patio for al fresco dining when the weather is nice. I was particularly impressed with the Salmon BLT. This enhanced version of the classic BLT is hearty, meaty, slightly crunchy and simply delicious. Another favorite of ours is the Honey-Chipotle Shrimp Wrap with lettuce and roasted red peppers. There are plenty of lightly fried, slightly briny shrimp crammed into an interesting spinach tortilla wrap. The unlimited basket of golden brown, almost sweet Hush Puppies comes with semi-soft honey butter - addictive. There are several lunch options on the 'Small Plate' menu (we found the servings to be more than adequate). That old standard, Fish and Chips was done to perfection. The thick piece of delicate, mild white fish was was covered in a light, golden-brown batter. I substituted Fried Okra for the Potatoes, and it was delicious. The Flounder and Oyster small plate is another winner. The ten crunchy, juicy fried oysters and a large founder filet were cooked just right. Small plates also include a small cup of Cole Slaw. The colossal slice of Coconut Cheesecake was simply scrumptious - creamy, smooth and so coconutty. Do yourself a favor and indulge.

We were all a little skeptical of the smoked fish dip but we all loved it! We got an extra order of baked oysters and the coastal hush puppies which were also excellent. Our server, Dawn, was easily one best servers I've had in a long time. Knowledgeable about the menu, made a point to explain everything and no questions were too obscure. We had a variety of dishes, and out of everything the pork schnitzel wasn't really a schnitzel if you've ever had one in Germany, it was more like a breaded, fried bone-in pork chop, really good but not a traditional schnitzel. The asparagus, the risotto, the pasta, the chicken were all absolutely superior. The stars were the appetizers, especially the kung pao fried Brussels, those are a meal by themselves, some of the best I've ever had! The fried burrata cheese, worth the drive to Wake Forest. Their Cherry cobbler one word: YUM! The Farm Table is a roomy restaurant with tables well suited for family style dining and while a bit loud, certainly not uncomfortably so Totally recommended and thank me later for those Brussel Sprouts!
