This is a hidden gem my parents found by accident over ten years ago. Although we have moved from their delivery area I still try to visit a couple times a month. Always very good. I especially like the pan fried dumplings and the General Tso's chicken. Won ton soup and shrimp in lobster sauce are also family favorites. pretty good chinese food! always fresh and hot when i order from here at work. i usually get the sesame chicken, which is really delicious. i love the sauce that they use, it contains the perfect consistency. sometimes i get weirded out ordering from new chinese restaurants because you just never know how they choose to cook their items, every place is different. but i'm glad i tried this place! the only thing i don't really care for is their egg rolls, a little too many bean sprouts for my liking. i prefer egg rolls with lots of cabbage instead. still good food though! try it :) read more

Good food, very nice plus is the ease of ordering and friendly delivery drivers. I am not able to drive and rely on quality places that deliver and so I count on this as one of them. This place used to be reliable for basic Chinese take out and we've been ordering delivery from here for a few years. Lately they keep screwing up orders, even when I order online using their site. My orders are pretty simple and unambiguous, not sure why they cannot get it right. Whatever the reason for the screw ups, I will simply not be ordering from them anymore. Just be aware that if you do decide to order from here, you may receive something entirely different from what you ordered after a 1.5 hour wait, even if you are nearby. If you call and complain about their mistakes, they will want you to wait another 2 hours to fix it. Not acceptable. Unless you want to pick up your food and check everything carefully before you leave, it's not worth the hassle at all. read more

this place is great! Ive been eating it for years. im a big fan of the almond chicken, which is always crisp and sweet. When I became a vegetarian I started to order the General tso's tofu, and I always request it to be cut into smaller pieces and add more sauce since its the best part and they are very nice about catering to my needs. the plain fried rice is great, and even better the next day after throwing it in the microwave. I'm no longer a vegetarian but i still enjoy the tofu. It many not be the best place to get fresh vegetables outside of whats used to season your dish but honestly I don't eat cooked vegetables anyway so the less they put in the less I have to pick out. fast, friendly, cheep, and delicious! read more

This place is consistently good. I usually get the ABC or chicken subgum - depending on if I want fried or more fresh. As a plus, they will substitute a chicken egg roll w/the combo at no additional charge. The prices are good and if I call as i leave work - it is always ready and hot fresh when I get there. DO NOT GO HERE. We had placed a sizable order with multiple coworkers. The person who did the ordering on our end specifically said a number 27 with noodles. When the food was delivered i received a 27 with rice. When we called them back to have the situation resolved they were extremely rude. It got to the point where the employee told me it's not their problem, it's MY problem. They would not deliver me the correct items and said the only way i would get it is that I would have to drive up there myself which was not going to happen. They wouldn't even take my name and number and give me a free meal for next time. They have absolutely no customer service skills at all. Extremely rude staff. This is not the first time i have had a problem with them. I will never order from them again and if i hear any coworkers saying they want to order from there I will stop them at all costs. read more

I travel a lot and I usually eat Chinese food about once a week. You can never go wrong with Chinese food. That being said I was excited to try the Chinatown Express for lunch. I got the usual General Tso's w/ noodles and egg roll and I was not disappointed. The noodles were not too greasy, and the General Tso's was not overcooked causing the chicken to be too dry. Granted there is better Chinese food but if you are looking for cheap and fast I highly recommend Chinatown Express. This is a takeout place only. read more

Disappointing people and attitudes like this still exist. I used to work in the area and have ordered takeout from them on several occasions, honestly the food is ok. i like their general tsao's chicken. That being said, i went there for carryout twice in the past 6 months. The fist time i went there, i remember a woman being extremely rude and disrespectful. I smile and say hi and they give me a blank stare. I got a very negative vibe and didnt go there for a while. Today i went there, there were 2 people ahead of me in line, and i was waiting to be served. A minute or two later a white couple comes in behind me and waits in line. I am black, and the person ahead of me is black and we're waiting, but the male food-service worker decides to ignore us, and nicely greet the white couple and ask them what they want. I left immediately and will never return. This place may be ok if you're White, or Asian, but stay away if your black, no you-know-what allowed. My family has been here for 7 generations, fought in every american conflict, and somehow i'm the outsider. God Bless America read more

I ordered $44 worth of food for my family for delivery, 1 1/2 hour before closing. We were told it would be delivered in ~45mns. We waited TWO hours, the food was NEVER delivered AND my credit card was charged!!! No one was available to answer our phonecalls and the machine didn't accept messages. The most irresponsible, inconsiderate act I have EVER had in food service and should be handled as food fraud. I will NEVER use this business EVER again!! And when we called to find out what was going on and the restaurant was soooooo unbelievably rude then they hung up on me. so I call back to cancel my order but couldn't get a straight answer about if they would cancel the transaction on my card. Sometimes I crave Chinese -it brings back good childhood memories. But I don't know how anybody can eat this food (at least not what I ordered). This is a carryout only. It sits at the opposite end of Starbucks and the cramped parking lot is always crowed and busy. I ordered the two meats dinner - Orange Chicken & shrimp with fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken was unusually stringy and pink -like the color of livers -it wasn't livers- but certainly not a chicken I could recognize. The two shrimp were almost cold, greasy and with more breading than I care for. The rice smelled sour and only had onions cooked in it. There were none of the usual vegetables you see in fried rice such as scallions, peas, carrots -or scrambled egg. No one else at my house would eat the rice because of the smell. The egg roll wasn't very good, either, dry and gritty inside. All but the de-breaded shrimp went into the trash. It was a waste of $11. I wonder what people are eating that they like so much at this place. I can't go back. If you can eat it, the menu looks good, service is fairly quick, and efficient. The best Chinese Food I've had recently was from a recommendation to go to the Oceania Inn in Rochester Hills 3176 Walton Boulevard, 48309 248 375-9200; which is far away from this restaurant. I had an awful experience with this specific location of Chinatown. I have managed a restaurant before and it was not handled well at all. The food took about two hours to deliver, and when we tried to negotiate a fair price the man who had delivered was yelling as me and my friend remained calm. He was saying it was the other workers fault. I had called the restaurant after to speak with the manager and the lady I spoke with wouldn't give her the phone and said the man who delivered to us was "an idiot." I had asked when the manager will be in next and she said 2:00, so I called in at two and when I told her who I was she hung up on me. What made it worse is we asked for a bag of fortune cookies and they had delivered a bag of cracker, not to mention they were stale. When I asked for them to give us a bag a fortune cookies they said we were too far for them to drive to us which was obviously a lie because they have delivered to us several times. Every person I tried to speak to would actually raise their voice and yell, interrupt me, and I am not a yeller, but when I would try to speak up they would get louder and louder. Every person I spoke with was so unbelievably unprofessional if they were to work at my restaurant and handle a customer that way, I would have fired them on the spot.
