Being fairly new to the area, we're searching for 'our' Chinese place. Tried Mai Place but found it to be too bland, walked into and out of Ming, and thought we'd give Ocean City a shot. From the outside it looks like it should have a big bar with old guys drinking on Sunday Morning and a dining room that is dim but full. Found a menu on line and called in a pick up order. When we got there, the parking lot was pretty full, which should be a good sign. Silly us...WOW uses the same parking lot. When you walk in there's a little bench with a two top for waiting, a counter in front of you, with a service bar behind it. The dining room to the right is lit by florescent lights and is totally empty. This is not a good sign. Food comes out quickly and we head home.... What was ordered: Crab Rangoons: Well made with an actual fake crab taste. Crispy. Good! Wonton Soup: Darker than I would think it should be but with a great tasting broth Peking Ravioli: Oddly shaped but well pan fried, with great flavor inside and the dipping sauce also well done. Gen'l Gao Chicken: Amazing sauce with great heat, and wonderful star anise and ginger flavoring. Chicken Fingers: crispy breading, moist tender chicken. Sauces...mah. I'd do this again...and probably will next week. read more

I got the broccoli and chicken on the dinner specials with steak teriyakis and pork strips. The worst Chinese food that I have ever experienced in my life! The pork strips were hard as a rock..the teriyaki steak was under cooked! I called and complained to the rude, nasty woman there. Zero ambiance. I was the only person there for lunch, while food prep was going on in the dining area. Don't know if anyone picked up takeout. Didn't hear anyone and I was too far from the desk. A wild no for me. Keep driving.... Keep driving..... Forget the ambiance of the place, although it's a real depiction of quality of food, looks don't apply here bc the food is ..... harmful. My fault bc this wasn't the first time we got sick, but the crab Rangoon's are typically good, I forgot how bad the rest of it was..:: We got sick, not ER sick but sick, again, this wasn't the first or second time. All the food I've ordered from here has been great. This is my go to Chinese restaurant. I've never been disappointed.

The place was dark and empty. Kind of cold. I should have turned around, but my partner was hungry and didnt feel like waiting to eat. I ordered the beef with ginger and scallions. Ginger was not cooked in the meal, freshly grated with the skin still on it. Why? The white rice was an uncle bens texture. Why? My Mai Tai was terrible. Tasted like cough syrup. We tried this spot for the first time last night. Being new to The Randolph area I have been looking for a good Chinese spot. This place was decent. The shrimp fried rice and Salt and pepper shrimp was really good. The chicken was done enough for me and had too much black grime in the inside. The ribs where different than anything I had before there where like little slices of meat. We will probably try this place again just because there aren't many options this way. read more

The worst American Chinese food I've ever had in my 30 yrs of existence thus far. I ordered the crispy orange chicken, general gau - they looked gross, were both undercooked & had a soggy texture. I immediately called & was told by a gentlemen to call back the next day to speak with the manager for a refund. The scallion pancakes, fried chicken & vegetable rice were decent. Ordered takeout tonight, the food was delivered promptly about 30m ahead of the estimated time of 1hr. Unfortunately that's where the compliments start and end. We ordered the following items for delivery: Szechuan Spicy Chicken, Pan Fried Noodle and Beef Chow Mein When you order Szechuan food your expecting a flavorful, spicy dish with the added benefit of mouth numbing Szechuan peppercorns. This meal was not even on the same planet as Szechuan dishes I know. The dish I received consisted of barely cooked through green peppers and onions cut so large that it was difficult to even get in my mouth. The chicken in the dish was edible, but lacking any sort of seasoning or flavor. The entire dish was swimming in a watery, brown sauce that has no spice and no peppercorns and added nothing to the dish. The cook should learn to use spices in their dishes... salt, pepper, garlic, ginger the list goes on and on. My partner ordered the beef chow mein and was not a fan of it either, lacking any flavor the beef and the beef pieces were hardly noticeable as they were cut so small. Ordered general gao and a side of boneless spareribs. Food came out in less than five minutes. I asked was the food sitting back there? She says no, it's because you're the only one here... I noticed also there was pork fried rice on my plate instead of the boiled rice. I let her know and she says no problem. Comes back with my plate. They forgot to wipe or scrape all of the brown rice off the plate to at least make it appear that it was a new plate. That being said, the food is like warm at best. Nothing freshly made. Best Chinese Food In Town! Chicken Fingers are always spot on, best "traditional" egg rolls (none of those spring rolls labeled as egg rolls). Sesame Seed Chicken is always delicious, Chicken and Vegetable rice is fantastic, and some of the best low meins around! I have lived in three parts of the US and this spot has the best, most fresh Chinese food! I usually go with the classics, like the pu pu platter and the General Gau. Lobster Sauce is great. The people are nice, and the delivery is within the time promised. The inside is clean and the cooks take special orders on menu items (extra spicy...ect.) What's not to love! read more

We have been going here fairly regularly since we moved to Randolph. In the past the food has been good. Good potions, tastes and hot. Restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, no a/c, kids playing video games in the dining room, dingy and generally cluttered. Last week we ordered our usual and found the portions much smaller than usual, asked for Chinese tea, it was Lipton English breakfast tea and the pot looked like it had never been washed. Ok where do I start??? Randolph has a huge abundance of Chinese Restaurants but not all are good!!! I never liked Ocean City in the past due to the food being very Bland tasting, however I do believe the business has changed hands over the past couple of years and the food is very much better!!! I usually order delivery from Ocean City by the "Yelp App" and my food is always delivered when the app tells me it will be... the food that I've ordered had been Rice, egg foo yung, spring rolls, spare ribs, numerous appetizers and all have been very good and hot when delivered!!! One more good point is the Delivery Driver usually a older Asian guy will call you to let you know he is here... now that is great service!!! I love the aspect of being able to order items that my family wants at the time and being able to pick and choose so if the order gets messed up it's on you... but all in all it's a great place to order from!! read more

ok so how do I nicely put that this place STINKS! I'm new to the Randolph area so I drove around looking for a Chinese restaurant after going ALL DAY (literally) without eating anything...as I was about to give up I find this place...the place WAS a hole in the wall! It was FREEZING in there and the customer service was whatever...not good not bad...just non-existent rather? anyway, so I ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp lobster sauce with boneless ribs and chicken wings and a side of an eggroll...rice was decent, shrimp lobster sauce was good, chicken wings looked as if it had been fried (for the 2nd time) and just sat there absorbing it's own grease then re-fried again (a 3rd time) and only got two wings. The boneless ribs, were two triangles and dry and not to mention tasted OLD! The eggroll was good however you could tell they fried it on HIGH and browned the outside and inside wasn't even that warm! I mean for a person who hadn't eaten all day to say the food wasn't good, you know it wasn't because usually when one is THAT hungry, they scuff down the food when it's even just OK. I have been a long-time supporter (and promoter) of Ocean City, but feel that I cannot do so anymore. The tipping point came when I ordered delivery this evening - a small order of House Lo Mein (extra spicy) and a side order of spring rolls. The lo mein was passable - not very spicy, though. The spring rolls were more of an issue, as they were COLD in the middle. They were willing to deliver a new order, blaming the chef for the mishap, but that shouldn't be an excuse. Every order should be QC'd before it goes out the door! I wish many of the staff the best (particularly Alan, who has made it a point to return to school to learn/perfect his English), but cannot keep dealing with subpar or inedible food. read more
