Lovely people, lovely atmosphere and DELICIOUS food! So grateful for this spot to be in the neighborhood!

Decided to get takeout from here Friday night and got it right away after calling it in. sesame chicken: average tasting sweet and savory, well fried and sauced boneless pork ribs: essentially char shu pork, tasted sweet as expected but did have a background porky taste that was mildly unpleasant pork fried rice: rice with boneless port ribs, looked extremely brown but was milder in flavor compared to its looks, with minimal veggies and no egg added egg roll: huge, appeared to be ground beef with shredded cabbage and carrot, veggies tasted more on the crunchy raw side, I think pre-salting the veg, letting it sit out to marinate, and adding sesame oil before eggroll assembly would enhance the flavor and texture, most disappointing crab ragoons: mostly cream cheese, crispy For $38 this meal didn't quite hit the Chinese take-out cravings due to the quality of the ingredients. The food was well made though!

Egg drop soup.

The Food was Great! (BUSSIN BUSSIN). Service was on point. Straight Mewing out the gate. They keep it 100 in this place. I recommend getting down here and having lunch or dinner. They have a decent selection of booze. (Crab Rangoon slaps) Mmmm so good. It's also clean inside.

Total flash back from the past. Nostalgia to the nines. Pu Pu Platter and wonton was delish. The fruity cocktails just as good. Totally fun place.

It was packed with tiny peppers, and the perfect amount of onion. I was happy with the amount of cheese, others might want more. The English muffin was toasted perfectly with lots of buttery goodness. Home fries were very flavorful, just a few peppers and onions mixed in, perfectly cooked. Fruit was nice and fresh. Seating is all outdoors, under tents. Waits can be really long, but on a Monday morning at 10 ish, it was less than 5 minutes for the two of us. Staff was friendly and attentive!

Then they served our food, but forgot my youngest boys breakfast (which was only pancakes on the kids menu). Then in the middle of him eating his mail while we were waiting she just dropped the check and said no rush instead of just waiting for him to finish up. Lastly, we paid our bill and then the waitress said oh wait I forgot to add your drinks to the check. This was funny because she forgot our drink water, and I had to go up and order our drinks, but yet she did remember at the last second to add them on which was too funny. The food was nothing special, but overall satisfactory. What you really are paying for is the ambience and the view out to the ocean.

Johnny's is located within the Wyndham Hotel in Middletown RI…read more My wife and I often stay here as the hotel is excellent, however this review relates to Johnny's. As noted above we have eaten here in the past. We have dined with large as well as small groups and have always been pleased. The place is beautiful, especially in the summer. The outdoor patio bar boasts a great view of Green End Pond. A great place to grab a drink and an appetizer. We started out on the patio and returned later for dinner. Based on our sub par experience the night before (see prior review) I was committed to having a great meal. We were not disappointed. I started with the clam chowder. Delicious. Flavorful and loaded with clams. My wife opted for the lobster bisque In an effort to negate the lousy lobster bisque she had on the previous night. Mission accomplished. She described it as buttery and creamy. Essentially the perfect bisque flavor. Contained within the bisque was a tremendous chunk of delicious lobster meat . For dinner, I chose the baked stuffed shrimp. It was delicious. Cooked to perfection with delicious stuffing, rice, pilaf, and broccoli. My only complaint is that I believe there should be more than 4 shrimp at this price. My wife selected the Pasta Bolognese. A dish that she has had and several other restaurants in several states and she ranked this right at the top of the list. Plenty of beef and pork combined with a tasty Italian sauce. When in the Newport area I suggest you skip the over hyped restaurants and head to Johnny's for a delicious meal with great atmosphere.

Took a couple of bites couldn't even chew it .. extremely tough, almost like eating fried bacon that was overcooked. The coleslaw was terrible too . Chopped cabbage no seasoning , no mayo , no nothing . Raw cabbage !!! Finally decided to send it back, ordered a simple cheeseburger, it was not great. Asked the waitress to cut it in half she had to consult with another waitress asking, can I send this back to be cut in half The bill comes with an automatic 20% gratuity added, large group of us. I pay with a 100 bill, was very pricey and the waitress asked if I wanted change !! I said yes please I see your tip is included in the bill ... really a 40.00 tip! I was not impressed. Pricey, and subpar food. The band was great, Nice location as well.

We just had another fabulous dinner at Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant--our second time dining here…read moresince last fall, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.

The place itself did not seem to care because nobody said anything to this table. It was a large group. I kept saying to myself if people come to my city and give it the reputation that we have of being snobby then I see why because this would never be allowed in a restaurant in my hometown. At any rate, this is the best lobster bisque I've ever had in my life. I really enjoyed it. I got the plate where it was stuffed. I thought it was just OK but I was just eating something I don't normally try.My partner got steak frites which he also really enjoyed. I love the way the vegetables were cooked. They were perfect not mushy and not underdone. Will definitely return here, if we come back to Newport. I just hope for better patrons.
