    Bean and cream!
    Christopher B.

A hole in the wall that is filled with Guatemalan grandma secrets ! I discover this place on an accident and it's been my happiest accident this year ! The food is decadent and doesn't taste like cafeteria thrown together food. It's very authentic like a home cooked meal. My absolute favorite was the plantain and cream ! A must .

The size of the banana leaf, it's a joke. Not traditional and the size of a tennis ball.

This place is probably one of the closest locations that feels traditional. However, since it's gaining tremendous popularity, I think it's gone down in many ways. One of the most critical aspects of your business is customer service. Many of the ladies working there lose their composure during the holidays. I understand that it gets busy, but they cannot be rude. I was there on Christmas Eve, and an elderly lady asked questions. One of the workers ignored her twice. Then, the lady asked a question again, and the worker yelled at her. So my mother stepped up and helped her by answering her question. Now, this older lady is a customer who needs assistance. She probably felt frustrated. She probably wasn't feeling well. Whatever the cost was, the employer should not have yelled at her and ignored her. I would've been distraught if my mother got yelled at. These ladies need to work on their customer service. It is not the first time. Also, they were assisting my mother, and they left her hanging for an hour and a half. That is awful customer service. Now, their tamales. They had flavor, but three of my family members got sick the next day. In addition, the banana leaf is ridiculous. They're using the tiniest bit of banana leaf. this is constructive criticism.

I enjoy comfort food at any time and this revolcado hits that sudden craving for it. This location is always busy and quick paced, the seating area is pretty big. I personally like the Santa Monica Blvd location or he original, but we enjoyed this with family.

Amazing food, great staff and plenty of them to keep the long lines moving along and a large seating area. Guatemalteca Bakery and Restaurant uses the same recipes that make you feel like Abuelita made it at home from scratch. One of their traditional dishes is the Revolcado, a tomato rich stew made with spices cooking different parts of a pig's head. Served with black beans and white rice with hand made thick corn tortillas. To die for. Another one of Guatemala's comfort foods is the rellenito, mashed up plantain ball filled with black beans.

Not trying to be rude but they have lower standards on bread instead Guatemalan chuchitos they are selling thick Mexican tamales for real is unacceptable is a chuchito in disguise .

The most authentic Guatemalan food you can buy in Los Angeles. Taste: DELICIOUS Price: Affordable Wait times: usually LONG! Especially during the holidays. Occasionally no wait Ambiance: good for lunch or dinner with family Panaderia/ Bakery: bread is always fresh

Todo es moderadamente aceptable menos el ponche de frutas. $3.99 por un ponche. Mejor me compro la fruta en lata con su nectar en el dollar tree y lo pongo a hervir!

This hidden gem is my new spot for Guatemalan food and snacks! Everything is super cheap and the service is fast and easy. I ordered a LOT: tostadas, atole, tamales, casamiento, and chips for such a low price. I highly recommend checking out this spot for tasty food at a low cost!

    The manager

Food was great but my experience was ruined by the customer service skills of the manager. Not polite at all. Was murmuring things as she walked away and when asked why she was acting this way her attitude became a bit aggressive. After this encounter the ambiance was a bit awkward.

I stopped by Sunday around 1 to pick up some pastries on my way to a friend's house. It's located in a plaza with a small parking lot. First thing you notice when you step in is that they have a lot of cakes on display. There's no seating either, it's strictly a grab and go place. Both times I came, someone was picking up a cake ahead of me, so that's definitely what to get here. I asked the cashier, and she said that you can either call or came in person to place a cake order. You can also come by and pick up one of their ready made cakes. Will keep this place in mind for the future. I picked up a number of pastries and tried some of them at my friend's place. Here's what I tried: Slice of vanilla roll cake ($2) - very moist but not much cream Almond croissant ($3.50) - loved the almond filling Sponge cake ($2.75) - delicious! Almond cookie ($0.35 each) - tastes exactly like the almond cookies I ate growing up Cream puff ($2) - this was the only thing I didn't like. The puff layers on both the top and bottom were dry Next time I need a cake, I know where to get it!

But last night I got the cake for my son's birthday, and I got him a 8" très Leche cake; it had slivered almonds on the side, all around and a layer of strawberries inside for $52 All the guests love that, including my son that enjoyed his birthday cake! Honestly, if I can give six stars to that Bakery I would! It is located in Van Nuys off Sherman Way, one block West of Sepulveda! A true treasure of Bakery

Nice in-market bakery option for the Van Nuys area…read more I stopped by around 9:30 and they were still loading display cases with pastries but a good amount were available then and there The sole cashier was nice and worked fast to help multiple customers at once I ordered a variety of cheese pastries and savory pastries, about 24 total for $45. The pastries are all baked fresh and we're still warm when I got them! They're all good sizes and still relatively cheap like Porto's or 75C bakery I really enjoyed the spinach cheese pastry and although I liked the regular cheese, it seems they use a lower quality feta so it was pretty salty. They're sweet cream cheese pastry was not too sweet but tasted nice and my disappointment with the guava pastry is the food coloring because it was a neon red which it shouldn't be

This cafe is on the right side of the Jons Marketplace right when you walk in. I couldn't decide between the butter croissant or cheese puffs so I asked the lady working which one she would recommend. She said both were good but the cheese puffs are more savory. So I went with the cheese puffs, the bread was okay but I did not like the cheese at all. I think the butter croissant would've been better so next time when I'm back to the dentist.
