The Right Package~ (Ea. Of MiniMe's 20 Canvas Paintings & Lithographs Were Boxed & Cushioned Separately)

Moving MiniMe's things from NY, wasn't going to be a walk in the park for a job in the West Coast. Her new company sent these guys to pack her stuff to be shipped there. Although hubby and I weren't present during the moving process here in NY, MiniMe mentioned that United was entirely swift and professional the whole time. MiniMe's new job company minimized all the effort it takes to move and made it as seamless as possible for her. Not that we had to, but my daughter organized and planned ahead leading up to her move. We had gotten her those big, plastic snap-close containers just so she can put her smaller tchotchkes and that was it. And knowing about United now, I'm sure they had teeny-tiny boxes for such things. I mean...these guys came equipped! We didn't set a budget- as MiniMe's new job took care of all moving costs- but she tipped the guys nicely. The rest, United took care of with an excellent eye for what goes where and what size box would be right for the item(s) with specialty boxes, packing tape, bubble and stretch wrap and tape- to get the job done right. As promised, my daughter's boxes got to the West Coast in tact in a matter of days, placed in storage then transfer her things to her new apartment- until we made the trip there ourselves. When we got to the West Coast to help our daughter sort her things, we realized at that moment- how efficient and committed United is.

We were moving from Washington to Texas to be near our grown children and families. It was overwhelming to think of moving ourselves at our ages (67 and 73). But from the moment I was put in contact with Chipman Relocation and Logistics through Mayflower things fell into place so smoothly. Moving Consultation and Estimating were done with Ron Freeman and it was done virtually so we didn't have anyone coming to the house. In the end it was amazing to see Ron was pretty spot-on with his estimate as we didn't owe anything. The next step was moving consultation with Jennifer Thomas. If I had a question she responded within the hour. She kept me up to date with everything going on and would call to see, along the way, if everything was going as planned. I felt so secure with her and felt like she really cared about us and our household goods. Everything went seamlessly! The day of packing Freddy Torres showed up with his crew (Leonard and Abi) on time and they were such fast and hard workers. It took them 6 hrs to pack our entire household. They were such a nice group of 3 people, so polite and friendly. Not one item showed up broken! The following day Willie Rubio and his crew of 4 showed up right on time to load the truck. Again another nice bunch of people and we really enjoyed them. They worked consistently and had the truck packed within 5 1/2 hours. Willie, who would also be the driver to bring our things to us in Texas told us he'd see us in 14 days. 14 days later at 8:00 Willie showed up with Gustavo and John to unload boxes and furniture in 3 hours. They worked up quite a sweat unloading all into the correct rooms. Once again, they were extremely polite, nice and hard working. The entire process from beginning to end worked seamlessly and was a very smooth moving experience. This bunch of people made it a memorable and good decision!!

Chipman made our move from LA to Portland easy. They were mid priced compared to other estimates we got. We packed all the boxes ourselves and they loaded and did the furniture. We moved from a 3 bedroom townhouse and didnt have enough to fill an entire truck so our stuff combined w/ another move in the truck. Wasnt a problem. None of our furniture was damaged or missing at the end. Everything was accounted for. The guys on both end were hard fast workers and very pleasant. We highly recommend!

Chipman had this image removed from Yelp for "privacy violations" because it contained publicly available phone numbers and addresses.

Update: 50% refund…read more Yeah, don't go with these guys. i had specific instructions for my move both to the rep on the phone (xavier he's great) and to them directly. all were not really cared for properly. I should have just gotten my friends and a uhaul to move, but i was promised it would take 5hrs. i was billed 5.5hrs. tip top of the money i had left. and they didn't even have time to move everything. why? because their recklessness with my things i didn't want them carrying my computer monitors. they were hired to pack and move stuff across portland. they came at 1:30 when they said only to tell me that they didn't know they needed all the packing stuff. they eventually arrived nearly 2hrs later and towards the END Of the original window i was promised without any 'hey we will be there at this ETA' they said they got stuck behind a train, which is fine i guess? but no update after that until i called and complained, which got me a 5% discount, which is nice i guess? but like everything that happened after were MASSIVE red flags, both for the computer and the 'movers' which felt like contractors they just hired for whatever without properly vetting. i had a small move, 2 rooms. they were the slowest movers and most reckless movers i've ever hired. but i don't really blame them fully for that. supposedly they were working since 8am and just drove up from salem or something. they didn't even eat lunch. is that even legal?! no wonder they came to the door exhausted already and out of it. These 2 guys did the best they could, but honestly with how exhausted I was from helping them (something i SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DO), they were doing a good job, but that doesn't really matter. In the end this guy ruined my $2000 custom built standing desk for music. not sure if i can get it repaired or fixed. he undid it and said he will put it back together. it was pretty easy just a few bolts into the joints between the wooden top and the legs and putting on the keyboard tray. easy stuff for the most part (when you have a drill, i don't own one). this guy didn't even look at where he was drilling or understand how the desk was put together after showing him specific things. he just drilled in the bolts and they hit a part that they're supposed to go into but was put in backwards making it impossible (on purpose) to get the screw in. this guy just kept drilling harder and harder and when i asked him about it he was like yeah it's supposed to sound like that. He either was so exhausted he couldn't think straight or just took on tasks he could have said 'yeah i don't know how to do that, can you do it?' either way now i have a broken desk that's only partially built and put together. i am really glad i moved all of my expensive stuff to my place with a friend last weekend, because they definitely would have broken a lot of very expensive things! I also gave them a mattress cover to put on the mattress, and they struggled doing that. You are movers wtf?! i zipped it up about half way and moved on. Then when we got to my new place they didn't even use it and put the mattress on the pavement to get a better angle or something. like what was the point in bringing it?! They also dropped a bunch of precious memories i had in a bin in a bin, they said they took them out because the outer bin couldn't close (bs). They were holding it open wrapped around their arm and i asked them to close it as it doesn't look secure and he said it would be fine, then immediately drops it with pictures and papers dropping on the ground and getting dirty. Anyway this all just happened. and there's no way I can live in my new place due to the lack of time they afforded to me to actually place things in the right spot. At least my bed is in the right spot. luckily for now i am in a short term rental because my last place had mold and why I am moving. i am highly allergic and being there as long as i did, both to wait for them to show up and how slowly they worked on loading the truck, I am feeling sick again because of it. The estimate was low balled to say the least because these guys move at a snails pace because this company overworks them and treats likely their staff like crap. these are probably more desperate people looking for an easy pay day. one guy was like 'i worked 4 days this month' and the other one worked 6 days in a row. a 12 hr day without a break outside of driving (which isn't a break) isn't really fair or legal? I paid nearly 1k for this move, and you can't afford to give these people a proper break between moves? I'm sure they weren't making nearly enough either. Lastly they pressured me to sign a thing at the end of the receipt that says everything was delivered intact, which i didn't sign. Anyway go with another company, not worth the risk. I didn't have another weekend to do this move as i need to have a livable space and that takes time as well. Anyway the movers were careless, slow, expensive, and ignored instructions.

If you read one thing from this review, it's this: do not hire All Service Moving unless you're…read morewilling to risk unexpected charges, damaged belongings, and a company that refuses to stand behind its work. We provided a complete inventory of our home and were quoted for one truck. Your team spent an entire day packing our home and never once mentioned there was a capacity issue. It wasn't until the very end of moving day, after everything had already been packed and loaded and we had no meaningful opportunity to make another decision, that we were told we needed to pay for a second truck. As a result, it ultimately required two trucks to remove our belongings from storage, effectively doubling the cost we had been led to expect. Unfortunately, the handling of our belongings was even more concerning. During move-out from All Service Moving's warehouse, numerous damaged items were identified and photographed. We also documented furniture stored directly against other furniture with little or no protection, exposed boxes, and delicate items packed and stored in ways that unnecessarily increased the risk of damage. As we continued unpacking, we found additional examples of improper packing, despite paying All Service Moving to professionally pack our home. Wardrobe boxes were not used for hanging clothing--the hanging bars were never used, and clothing and shoes were piled throughout the boxes. Delicate lamp shades were packed with dirty outdoor items. Clothing was packed alongside a floor cleaner and a greasy kitchen rack. Fragile decorative branches were packed without protection and arrived broken. These were not isolated mistakes. They reflected a consistent pattern in how our belongings were packed, stored, and handled. Despite photographs documenting both the damage and the way our belongings were packed and stored while in All Service Moving's warehouse, the company has never taken responsibility. We spent months trying to resolve this privately before writing this review. During that time, we repeatedly provided documentation, waited through postponed discussions, and requested the documents supporting the company's position. Those documents were never produced, and All Service Moving never took responsibility for the damage. Moving is one of the largest expenses and most stressful experiences many people will go through. When you hire a moving company, you're trusting them with everything you own. We expected our belongings to be handled with care and, if something went wrong, for the company to stand behind its work. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with All Service Moving.

Two moves, and I'm going to be very generous with 2 stars…read more The first move took much, much longer than it should have with three guys, and they unfortunately didn't realize I grew up speaking Spanish (I'm mixed but white presenting) and said some highly unfavorable things for professionals. While the guy who did my paperwork seemed nice, it was way over the top like he was trying to ingratiate himself with me for a better tip. The questions he was asking me were personal and invasive and just left me feeling uncomfortable and wanting to get away from him. Unfortunately this is the reality of being a woman, often, is men mistake your kindness for familiarity when he should have just stuck to being a professional doing his job. This second, and LAST move I will ever hire Bridgetown for, I booked a move with three guys and the same size truck as my previous move. I specifically wanted a company who knew how much stuff I had (we ran out of room, the first time, and I had to leave several items behind). The issues started at booking, when my estimate arrived with my deposit, and the quote read $0...I checked in with Devon and she said my move was still booked, the quote was just a system error (but didn't fix the issue of an hourly rate for 3 guys...but ok...), the confirmation text I received a a few days before my move caused me minor panic because she listed the wrong date...OOPS her bad, but it's fine, all is well, ok... But, the day comes, and TWO men show up with a much smaller than expected truck. I ask about the 3rd guy? Oh well yea his work order says it's supposed to be 3, the paperwork he hands me says 3...I call Devon and yep oops "Dispatch" (aka one of the owners apparently?) "made a mistake and sent the wrong crew due to a paperwork mixup." Folks, when I tell you this would have been an absolutely nightmarish scenario that would have cost me my last shred of sanity due to all the BS I've been dealing with, it can't be underestimated how p'd off I was. Luckily for me, I have terrible anxiety and bc my last move took so many hours, I haven't been able to sit still and had taken *sixteen* carloads of moving bags over myself before the movers ever arrived. I wanted this move to go so much smoother than the last, and I had two afternoon appointments for various maintenace and install issues with my new house that day of the move. I booked three men and huge truck specifically to make the move fast and easy. If I had not absolutely destroyed my body (thank you, anxiety, for apparently seeing the future and that something would in fact massively go wrong) taking allllll that stuff myself over two weeks after I got my keys on the 1st, there is ZERO shot everything would have fit on the truck, not even half my stuff would have fit. And as a reminder, I specifically booked Bridgetown because they had an inventory from my previous move. I was in the end charged the minimum rate, to "apologize" for the "mixup," but having to explain to Devon and to the two man crew why this was all so frustrating and upsetting is insane to me. I booked 3 guys, giant truck, with BM specifically who had my inventory because I knew how much stuff I had to move. They caused me at least 10 more gray hairs that day. I will never, ever, be using your services again.

Very disappointing experience with All My Sons Moving…read more Our move was scheduled for 9:00 AM, and we planned our entire day around that timeframe, including coordinating other people and vendors. Unfortunately, due to a staffing issue on All My Sons' end, the movers did not arrive until approximately 3:00 PM -- a six-hour delay. To be clear, I do not blame the movers who eventually came out. They were put in a difficult situation and did their best under the circumstances. My issue is with how All My Sons handled the situation and the lack of accountability for the significant disruption it caused. A six-hour delay is not a minor inconvenience when you have an entire move and other services scheduled around a specific start time. The delay disrupted our day and resulted in additional unexpected labor costs that we had to absorb. After the move, I emailed All My Sons to explain the situation and requested that management review what happened and consider some type of compensation or adjustment to our bill. I have received no response. Things happen, and I understand that unexpected staffing issues can occur. What is disappointing is that we were left to absorb the consequences of a six-hour delay caused by their staffing issue, and then our concerns were completely ignored when we reached out afterward. Based on our experience, I would expect much better communication, accountability, and customer service from a professional moving company.
