Walked in and place was empty. Not necessarily a bad thing. But as we progressed through our food line it was apparent why. Food bins were low, hot foods were burnt to the bottom. Lettuce was brown and wilted. Which was odd since it was sitting in ice.All the trash bins were overflowing with trash throughout the whole restaurant. There was trash on the floor throughout the restaurant. Bathrooms were disgusting and Appeared to be not been cleaned all day. Portions were ridiculously small. Which I could have some grace for except for the fact that everything was burnt or sitting for too long. They are on the verge of getting somebody sick. Stopped in here again a few times. This particular time they were not busy it was 6:00 PM. The two ladies behind the counter truly acted like they did not want to be there. Neither of them greeted me when I stood at the counter. I said hello and one said hi will be right with you and then proceeded to work on an online order. That's fine however they should've greeted me and acted a little bit more like they were interested in doing a good job. I placed my order and I'm looking at the meats and they look like they had been in the trays for quite some time I ordered the Carnitas in a bowl, the sour cream tray was empty so they had to go to the back room and get more and brought out another tray that was almost empty. I took my order to go, drove across the street to the Hotel, didn't waste any time and open my meal to find the food was pretty much cold. I was on my way to the river for my first time and made a pick up order on the app. I picked up my order before hopping back in the car. As soon as we started driving I told everyone in the car after my first bite "This is the best first bite I ever had at Chipotle". Although we love Chipotle, I wasn't too pleased with this location. It was the second time through, and wasn't overly impressed either time. The latest visit was around 3 in the afternoon. Not a typical busy time of day, but for some reason, the line was ridiculously long. I'm not sure if the team behind the counter was slow or what, but couldn't help but noticing. When we got to the front, we noticed "no carnitas". I know the chain has had a difficult time locating a regular source of sustainable clean pork for their carnitas, but it would have been nice knowing that walking in instead of having to wait 20 minutes in line only to see that regular menu item wasn't available. Most other stores but a sign on the front door or cover up the carnitas on the menu so customers know if they have it or not right away. It would have been nice to know since we had talked about another food option as we parked since we've known about the lack of carnitas. So, carnitas is the only thing my daughter eats here since it's the only meat item that isn't spicy. She's sampled the chicken and beef before, and was ok with the chicken, but not so much to enjoy it. The barbacoa looked dry, not saucy which I've seen at each and every other Chipotle. They also seemed to skimp on the rice, which is really what my daughter enjoys here. Lastly, as I'm driving on the 15, I bite into a bone fragment that almost takes out my tooth in the process. HATE THAT! So, overall I wasn't impressed with this location. I add another star due to the fact that we're regulars and have been very pleased with Chipotle overall except for the lack of carnitas. I'll start by saying I really like Chipotle! On trips to Vegas, I will admit that my usual stop overs in Barstow are to the burger joints. However Chipotle offers a fresh alternative to the usual burger stops and on a recent Vegas trip, we chose to stop here! I like Chipotle's food and they serve a pretty good serving here. I've always felt Chipotle's servings are good enough for two and it was the case here. I have no complaints about the food but did have a comment on overall cleanliness of the place. I went to the restroom first to wash my hands and was shocked at the uncleanliness of the restroom! It was super messy with toilet paper all over the floors in every stall. I know it's a Vegas stopover and lots of people come through but this was messy beyond average. I also noticed the girl working at this Chipotle going around the tables cleaning. She was cleaning everything outside with the same dirty rag over and over. Eek. I like Chipotle and think this would be a good stopover but they definitely may need to look into cleaning the restrooms and making sure the overall place is more clean. read more

Everyone's Vegas pit stop, located in Barstow and on the way from LA. Every time I've came here, the line has been long but moves quick. Probably the longest line I've seen at a Chipotle, no matter what time of the day you come. Wait time is about 15-20 minutes since the employees hustle on that assembly line. It's Chipotle. The food is consistent with what you'd expect. What bums me out about this one, and makes it likely that I won't return, is the ridiculously sloooooooooooow service. Almost every Chipotle you walk into has a long line most of the time. But, almost every Chipotle also works through that line pretty quickly, even with the slow people who want to sample everything like they've never been there! Not this one. The employees (usually all but one) are incredibly slow. A line with the same amount of people at my local Chipotle would take about 10-15 minutes to get through. Barstow has become our regular pit stop for food when travelling to Vegas from LA. After trying multiple fast food restaurants we found that this Chipotle location is able to keep the line moving fast even when it is long (which is always the case) while maintaining the quality of the food, so it has become our preferred fast food destination in Barstow. Like any other Chipotle location you start at one end of the steam table with an option of a burrito or burrito bowl, then add beans, rice, sour cream, hot or mild salsa, corn, avocado etc. what ever you want in the burrito or bowl, end up at the other end pay and your done. I generally get the steak or baracoa burrito or bowl depending on my mood. I've always been satisfied with the quality here which keeps getting me back. Has anyone noticed that this Chipotle is slightly cheaper than other places by a couple of cents? When my group walked in this place had a good line going, and people kept pouring in more and more. When it was my turn to order, I was very prompt with my order, just to be considerate to the workers since there were a lot of people behind me. There was a rather sassy employee who told me in a matter-of-fact tone that the corn is considered a sauce, when I asked for the 3 sauce and corn. I was taken aback as was my friend who stood next to me. But I reckon he's having a bad day and there's a lot of people and they're understaffed and lacking food. So I forgave him, and didn't say anything. Other than that I can see how hard these employees are working and they are probably under appreciated and underpaid. One of the better stops in Barstow CA. My decision to eat at Chipotle in this area is usually based on how long the lines are. This particular location can get busy so be patient. I don't see to have the patience because Barstow is just a quick stop between CA and Las Vegas/ I've only eaten at this Chipotle just a few times and the reason is simple, they're usually closed by the time I'm in the area. You can always count on In-N-Out and Jack In the Box to be opened late. But if I'm passing by during business hours, I'm sure to hit this place up first. Foods choices are simple here. Stopped by this chipotle on the way home from Vegas with my gfs. Of course there was a long line that just took forever, but that's already expected at chipotle. The people who work here are really nice, they have excellent customer service and work semi fast. The only bad thing about this place is that they don't give you enough food. They're kind of stingy on their ingredients if you ask me. They would gladly give you more if you ask, but why should we ask when it's obvious that people want a packed meal. Parking can be a hassle if it's crowded. They don't always clean the tables as fast as they should. The floors are really dirty too. Although the taste was better than most Chipotles I know of, I'm giving this one 3 stars because of their portions... They are so small! We stopped at Barstow for food on the way to Vegas and saw this Chipotle. We arrived at around 7:30 P.M. and most of the selections were out- they didn't have black beans, white rice, and chicken.
