I first heard about Chipotle when i ended up having to do a presentation on the company for my Franchising class. I thought it was the most wonderful idea and the best place to work at. Everything about it was interesting from the way it started to the origins of their ingredients. Then finally we we're getting the first 2 in El Paso and i was able to find out for myself how awesome Chipotle was. I was definitely not disappointed. You can definitely taste the difference from traditional El Paso burritos with the added benefit of being a healthy option. I've forced a lot of people to try Chipotle because they don't think its a healthier alternate but also they don't deviate from the standard refried beans and other traditional Mexican stews we're used to. Needless to say they have all turned to the darkside and ended up really loving the new take on burritos El Paso hadn't seen in a fast food chain. With so many fast food options people are always flocking to Chipotle now because of the fresh ingredients and overall great taste. Another important and vital option that Chipotle provides are vegetarian options. Not only do they serve "sofritas" which is a tofu side served as a protein instead of chicken, steak, or even barbacoa, but their vegetarian options are just as good as the meaty options. Most fast food chains offer very bland and pretty dismal vegetarian options but Chipotle has kept it basic and most importantly tasty. Im a meat eater but every once in a while the vegetarian option is what i get and it is just as good. The other side of the vegetarian options is that their meat comes from grass fed, steroid free animals. That is a growing trend today which is just as important now as how good the food is. The only thing i hold against Chipotle and we all know it is the cost and most importantly the cost of adding guac. Like the jokes say, adding guac is pretty much for when its payday. read more

I've been waiting for Chipotle to come to EP!! I used to go there when I lived in Sacramento and loved it. After I moved here, I watched something about healthy fastfood places on Food Network and learned that Chipotle is very health conscious! They get as much of their ingredients locally as they can which is great for local farmers. They also don't use preservatives either. Dear reader, I love Chipotle and have for many many years. I could go on for hours about how great Chipotle is and would often take out of town trips just to get my Chipotle fix. Please don't come to Chipotle and expect to be greeted with your grandma's refried beans and greasy barbacoa. Come to experience a modern, fresh take on fast Mexican food. You don't go to the "bell" expecting to get carnitas like your mom made them, give Chipotle some slack. They do their own kind of food and they do it so well. If you're not into environmentally responsible, regionally sourced produce, hormone free and free range pork, chicken, and beef then Chipotle isn't the place for you. They don't cut corners, they have completely transformed the fast food market as we know it, that in itself deserves 5 stars. How do I love Chipotle? Let me count the ways: 1. Fresh ingredients, innovative presentation, a true your way burrito handcrafted to your liking. The ingredients are always so fresh and tasty. 2. Consistency, I can go to a Chipotle in France (yeah they have them in France) and El Paso and it will all be the same. 3. Portion size, their burritos are massive. Their tacos are too. The burrito bowls are the healthy (and filling) alternative to all of the above. 4. Customization. If I want them to put my rolled burrito on the grill to give it a good crust, they will. If I want to make a quesadilla, they will. It's all about what you want at that moment in time. 5. Their guacamole. It is to die for. They do it better than most "authentic" Mexican restaurants. It may be extra, but for the portion you get, it's worth it. Also, if you're eating a veggie anything guac is free :) 6. Their employees. They are some of the happiest employees at any fast food restaurant. 7. Online ordering. Place an order 15 minutes before you are going to show up, your food is ready and waiting, even if the line is out the door. And yes, there's an app for that. Overall, Chipotle does it and they do it well. Instead of fast food, I really think it should be fresh food. read more

My family and I dined here last night and I am very disappointed.. I have visited my share of Chipotle's in Missouri and have been satisfied. This one in El Paso was a hot mess.. We arrived around 6:30pm and it was not very busy at all yet every single table was dirty as was the ladies restroom. I politely asked to have our table cleaned and was replied with a giggle and yes.. It took 15 mins. to have the table cleaned. I opted for the steak burrito and the steak was not edible.. The pork carnitas were just weird tasting. My daughter had the stupid burrito - ended up not eating the bland tortilla. The best part of her burrito was the rice and beans. My friend and I went after work today. He hadn't been in over a decade and this was my first experience. The place was decent. The burrito was stuffed, but I wish they put more of the fajita veggies in there. They didn't really hit my mouth until I was about halfway down. The salsas and guacamole were good. I like trying new places. My better half in the other hand is not find of trying new places. But the people of yelp came thru! I was looking for a place to eat and this place was given a 5 star. So my wife my motet and I headed here. I have to say its pretty pricey but the quantity of food that they give you is outrageous. I had the chicken burrito and when I saw being made I was amazed on the amount of food. Very fulfilling. My wig and mother shared the burrito bowl and they said if they just got one each they wouldn't have finished it. But all in all. A good place for the food but the price is what hurts. I love Chipotle--Chipotle is my life! No but seriously its one of those meals where if you haven't had Chipotle for a while all of a sudden your body craves it. I always get chicken bowl with white rice and black beans. Heavy on the chile and guacamole. So, I have had this running conversation with myself that if El Paso got a Chipotle, Jamba Juice, and a Whole Foods - that I could possibly live here with the minimal amount of complaining about how much I miss the 5280 a.k.a The Promised Land of Life in the Slow Lane. I was STOKED to see the Chipotle sign and waited with excitement in my heart, but mostly in my belly. The first couple of weeks were sort of intense, with long wait lines that spilled out into the parking lot. So, I was like 'Oh HELL no'. Then, I drove by recently and it was like any normal Chipotle - so I went in and ordered my usual dish of a chicken burrito with black beans, rice, and some stuff here and there with no guac (because I became deathly allergic to it, but that's another story). Anyway...so, you know how sometimes you get all misty eyed about your ex from long ago that you were SO into, and then you see them or run into them and one thing leads to another and you go there again? Then, it sucks because you changed and they changed or something changed and now it kind of sucks and you sort of hate yourself for soiling your pristine memory of how wonderful your ex was? Yeah, Chipotle was so-so, and I hate myself for soiling the memories. The burrito was meh, the chips were still AMAZING but I can no longer eat guac (so, that sucks), and the place looks like a super small Chipotle. Like a smaller version of a regular Chipotle. I know. Big fan of Chipotle, their meats are on point and I love how you can customize everything to make the perfect size meal. It's not gourmet, but I could eat here every day for quite a while. This location is about average sized, haven't observed it being too crowded yet. read more

I love Chipotle! Have been going for years since it opened in California, probably been there 100+ times (not exaggerating) and love how it is always consistent, fresh and you have the options to make your meal healthy, or indulge if you are in the mood. My go-to meal is the salad, no dressing, with brown rice, a little black beans, chicken, veggies, corn salsa and medium salsa... if I've worked out that day I get guac on the side. This Chipotle however is not consistent... every time I go in i get completely different portions of food and obviously pay the same amount every time. The workers here give you half what you should be getting, and I also ask for "a little bit more rice please" or "can I have some more salsa?" The last time I went, which was yesterday my rice was not cooked correctly. It was super salty, and a bit under-cooked, like someone was rushing to make it and didn't heat it correctly or stir in the ingredients. I love Chipotle and will continue going for a semi-healthy, quick meal, but this particular place needs to step up their game. read more

There are many things to like about Chipotle - locally sourced ingredients, no hormones or antibiotics in the meats, generally friendly staff - but there are a few deal breakers as well, some unique to this location and some systemic to the overall Chipoltle experience. First let's get one important thing out of the way - Chipotle chips. Chipotle chips often have a disagreeable off flavor that really comes down to cost cutting. It's expensive to change the oil that the chips are fried in on a daily basis, so Chipotle doesn't. Instead, they change their oil once a week. People who consume a lot of multi-day old decomposing or rancid oil in their diets, that's most of us by the way, won't even notice. But if you limit the fats that you consume to only the freshest possible, then you are going to immediately notice the rancidity. A bag of chips from Albertson's tastes better than Chipotle's, and it's a lot cheaper. Chipotle's guacamole is just about the best I have ever tasted. It's almost always fresh and many of us will have a tough time finding any that's better. However, you can only buy it in a 2 or 3 oz tiny container. Makes no sense to me. Having a few people over for dinner and want to offer Chipotle guacamole, forget it unless you want to spend the evening scraping it out of those little containers into a bowl. Which brings me to my next concern, Chipotle doesn't seem to get it about catering. Got a wedding party and want to offer Chipotle burritors, chips, and guacamole? Your only option is to buy a bunch of individual servings. Chipotle does offer catering in about 14 states, but Texas isn't included. At least offer a discount on 20 burritos or something like that Chipotle! Another grip is that Chipotle doesn't really offer vegetables. Oily onions and green pepper strips and the only vegetable option at Chipotle. I'm ignoring the romaine lettuce - can't have a burrito without offering lettuce. But some offering of real live vegetables would be a very nice addition. Finally, the El Paso Mesa Street location is always cold and the music is always too loud to carry on a conversation. I've been there 50 times at least and the feeling is always - let's get out of here as soon as we can. Fortunately, another restaurant has provided tables and chairs outside, so when the weather is nice, that's the solution. But otherwise, just get your meal to go and get out of there. read more

This happened about a year ago, but better write a review late than never! My wife and I ate at this Chipotle, and in a few hours got very sick. Both had same symptoms - stomach problems, yuck. I contacted Chipotle. A guy from Denver (but I ate in El Paso!) called me, and this is what he told me - I am not kidding: "I talked to the manager at the El Paso location, and he assured me that everything was OK with the food. Temperature was maintained properly. So I think your stomach problems are not from our food". Oh well, how can we not believe the manager! HE has spoken, it must be out stomachs that are faulty! read more

Tried for the first time based on review from MSN that Chipotle was in the top 10 favorites for fast food. I will start off saying I'm not a huge fan of burritos...I do like Mexican food though. I ordered the tacos...they were ok. My children ordered burritos and really liked them. The steak was good, wish there were more selections. The order of chips and guacamole was very small. Price was on the more expensive side. About 7.40 for the steak burrito and add another 1.90 if you want guacamole. I doubt I will venture back seeing as how Vista Market has excellent burritos at half the price. Just wanted to add that the Staff is excellent and very friendly. read more

Tonight, 20 Dec 2013, my family and I went to chipotle Mexican grill for dinner. The atmosphere seemed pleasant and the service was O.K. One burrito with Barbacoa was ok . Meat was tender but could have been seasoned a little more. An order of 3 tacos de Barbacoa were ok. I found the meat to be tender and in this case the meat had a good flavor. And one burrito with chicken, which my daughter said was delicious. Price was slightly high but the amount of food was good. Pleasant experience, we had the food to go, next time we' ll dine in. read more

I eat at this restaurant at least once a week!!! The food quality is ALWAYS fresh and hot and extremely tasty! Also the people that work there are always polite and friendly and the service is always quick! The Manager Julio Mejia is very Professional and always makes me feel right at home! Two of his employees, Brian and Sebastian are not only efficient about getting my order out, but their personalities are second to none! Mr Mejia and his staff are very personable and treat all of their customers with dignity and respect! Soooo.. Went in with my wife and we were first in line and it still took this lady 5 minutes to get to us. My wife orders a brown rice no beans and chicken . Now this lady gives my wife the smallest scoop of chicken so my wife asked for more so the lady said that would be extra, so my wife said okay and this lady had the nerve to give even a smaller scoop. Now when it came to my order I asked for a taco bowl with no tortilla and she look at me like I was speaking a different language so I said it again she replied "on the side?"
