Chipotle used to be something I got frequently. Too frequently. I have since cut back my visits quite substantially, but this remains my go-to location, mainly because it's the easiest to access from my home. I've also generally had better luck here than at any of the other Albany area locations. The food? Standard Chipotle. Usually fresh and full of flavor. The hot salsa is something unlike any other salsa I have had, smooth and almost like a great hot sauce. Prices are on the higher side and the amount of food you get depends entirely on the person making it. A few steps above Taco Bell and a step above Moe's. The line staff here ranges from great to mediocre, but the manager is wonderful and has helped to make things right whenever I have run into issues. This location gets busy. Very busy. Come here at a peak meal time and it can be hard to get a seat. A line stretching to the door is not rare and, because it's so busy, cleanliness can suffer. On the other hand, the high volume means that food is generally fresh and stuff rarely sits on the steam table for long. If having to wipe a little rice off the table is the price I pay for having meat that literally just came off the grill, so be it. read more

So this is a sad review for me to write. I've been a big fan of Chipotle. It has quality food that is out fast. Lots of healthy options and the food has been consistently well prepared and served. However, this Latham location has been on a downward skid for awhile not. First we had to stop ordering online because we would never get our order filled correctly. Whether it was grossly under-portioned or just wrong items, we had to stop ordering online and goto the store. No big deal, in most cases - inconvenient - but not a deal breaker. We could still go there and get the options we were looking for, it would just take a little longer. Now though, it's messed up. The food itself seems to still be quality, but man, the customer service and portioning and attention to the order requests are terrible. We can go here anymore, chipotle isn't cheap and we can just throw away money on dinner after dinner hoping it'll be better. This has been every experience in the last 6 months. So sad. read more

What we experienced at the Latham, NY location was far from that. The servers were clearly not fully trained and keeping the restaurant clean was far from their priority. I mentioned it to him thinking he'd grab a new spoon but he put it right back in with the veggies. He didn't know how to fold the burrito and didnt close the lid on my bowl which was weird too. I went to Chipolte around 11:20. For just opening the place looked filthy, dirty! Got my burrito and went to pour myself a drink. Sprite had no flavor was just seltzer. Every fountain was missing their top so the soda just sprayed all over the place. Told the workers and they came over to put the spouts on. They never changed the Sprite syrup which is what I usually drink. The tables were dirty and the countertops were equally dirty. It appeared like no one that closed the night before cleaned the place. Just for kicks I figured I'd check out the bathroom.....they always say if the bathroom is clean, then it's safe to eat there. This place still sucks. I made the mistake of stopping here around 7:30pm and they were out of white rice. I guess you can't expect them to realize they're running low on rice and make more, that would take effort. So I reluctantly look the brown rice, which I had never tried and turns out tastes like crap IMO. So, back in the day you used to pay money in exchange for a good or service, in this case, food. This location (like many Chipotles nowadays) seems to think this fair exchange is no longer necessary, as they give you as little food as possible, despite the prices having blown up over the past few years. Got about a tablespoon of rice, a tablespoon of beans...the usual. Tiny burrito. I'm amazed that despite years of horrible reviews the management here hasn't improved this place. I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to Clifton Park next time, which is still a crapshoot - last time I was there they were out of steak but at least made a burrito of reasonable (not generous) size after I asked them to add more beans to the tablespoon they tried to get away with. In the past I visited this Chipotle Regularly. But in the last couple of years the quality of food, service and cleanliness has hit rock bottom. I'm so disappointed because it was so convenient. I felt like I was getting a clean healthy meal here until I investigated and found there main oil source is toxic seed oils. Twice recently I left because of the slow inept service. Other times I left because of the condition of the food on the line or the filthy conditions around the food and the prep areas. The employees behaviors are not consistent with restaurant food safety and cleanliness. Often the people doing food prep or serving have hair from their head or facial hair swaying down over the food. It's not uncommon that they are out of food items or utensils. Ordered online, sent my daughter in to pick it up. When we got home and unpacked the bag - it had different names on our items. So we packed the bag up and went back. When I walked in to say the orders were wrong - I was told that they "just put the wrong stitches were on them" but the actual orders were right. This is the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. The gentleman starting my order was very nice, but the (I assume) manager was very stingy with the portions. She even stopped the gentleman from putting my quesadilla in the press, took some of the cheese out, and put it back in the bin. She then was scooping veggies, lettuce and salsa like it comes out of her paycheck. I asked her 3 times for more lettuce, and it was still half of what I've received at other locations. I picked up dinner here tonight - a Carne Asada salad. My main issue is the staff attitudes. The whole kitchen staff is young and all of them seem bored, indifferent to customers and unpleasant. Now I realize that Gen Z kids are often that way. But it's very off-putting when they don't smile or greet customers or even acknowledge your presence. I am not one to leave a bad review, in fact, this is the first one I've written. However my time at this chipotle I can confidently say was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Admittedly, I haven't been to Chipotle for a while and didn't know the adult portioned quesadilla is now an online only service. That being said, when I ordered three of them and saw no issue from the girl at the front of the line who began making my order, I thought all was well. She took three small tortillas to make them, without a meal box. Once I got her attention after numerous "excuse mes," as she was completely enamored by the customer in front of me and the worker helping her, I pointed her attention to the quesadilla boxes asking for three of them. She then grabbed a singular burrito bowl, honest mistake it was quite loud, then a singular meal box, put all three of the miniature quesadillas in the box, and I then had to clarify again that I wanted three separate quesadilla meals. Again, she was not paying attention to me, and handed it off to the next worker in line. I then told the next worker the sides I wanted, simultaneously telling him two separate times that it was only part of what I ordered, again asking for two more boxes, to which he acknowledged with a nod. He clearly did not hear me because by the time he had finished packing the first box up, as well as finishing up a bowl also on my order, and I had began to pay, there was still only a singular box. At this point I was sincerely confused because I had to have repeated myself roughly eight times that I wanted three separate meals, still confused as to why they were so small considering the last time I had ordered one it was made with a large tortilla. That being said, when I told the cashier that I ordered three quesadillas, she looked at the singular box and asked me if I told them I wanted three. I replied with "many times, yes," to which the second worker in line split the three mini quesadillas into each meal box. I got the sides I wanted for all three and left with the small quesadillas because honestly it didn't seem worth it to advocate for a full serving after dealing with that insane repetition for a genuine ten minutes. Even if the original quesadilla wasn't an option, I feel like the question of is it a meal or not should have been posed, and the blatant ignorance specifically from the girl at the front of the line was horrid. Like talking to a brick wall. Chipotle, either train for better customer service, or hire new people! The employees were extremely rude, the little girl working the front of the line was completely dismissive and couldn't give less about your order or experience. I have been going to Chipotle consistently for years now. I always order pickup, and my order is consistently 20-50 minutes late every time. I am not sure if this is how it is at every location, but if you want to not waste your time, do not order for pickup at the Wade Road one. The food is great, it's just standing in the restaurant for 45 minutes at a time is just insane to me. This has happened consistently over the last couple of years, and I am aware that they can set back times you can pick up for, but they rarely do that and a lot of the times have 10+ people standing inside the restaurant waiting for their order. On top of that, I had an order that was the same time as another person, but they ended up waiting 15 minutes, and I waited 45 minutes- which makes me think they don't make the orders chronologically to time. read more

By far one of the best Chipotles I've had the pleasure of enjoying. Everything was fresh, tasty, and efficient. The line moved quick and every employee had a smile on their face. Almost everything I wanted to get in my bowl had just been freshly refilled and you could certainly taste how fresh it was. I don't know if she was the manager but she was giving dirty looks the whole time and practically yelled at me when she asked if I was getting chips. The overall ambiance was just off.
