The food is solid- similar to other Chipotles I have visited. I usually get the shredded pork with veggies over brown rice, with corn. Unfortunately, no matter how what time it is, whether it's 10 minutes before closing ... there is always a line. I highly suggest ordering online and then picking it up. On a recent visit, the person before me ask for a corn tortilla and for the next 13 minutes, Planet Chipotle stood still. Staff did not know how to press it with the tortilla breaking. The line just kept building. I nicely asked if I could go ahead since I needed a rice bowl which did not require the tortilla presser, as the remaining staff members just stood there ready for the rest of the order. But no, this needed to be dealt with first. I was so close to getting that rice bowl... but yet so far... I literally waited over an hour for my hour in total. But yet I still come back. read more

Proof: always crowded, long line (moves fast though), parking is a nightmare. service is hit-or-miss, as with most fast-food type places, but overall quick- so don't be deterred at the long line during peak hours. the meats and veggies are cooked decently but often times are over-salted, as with most fast-food type places. this location is HORRIBLE!! they always are 30-40 mins behind on online orders, and always slow and so rude even when it's not busy. just stopped by and they had closed all doors at 7:45 when closing time was 8:30 on the sign. ridiculous! this location has consistently provided bad service, can't even tell you how many times i had to get a refund on the app for orders unmade past 1 hour, wrong items, only half of my bowl filled, etc. do better. read more

The need to reinvent to stay ahead or just stay 'IN' business is probably not the mantra that Chipotle follows. The same old sub standard grub served day in and day out. I know that a lot of people love chipotle because of the 'healthy' factor but that alone does not cut it . The food HAS to taste good for it to be likable. Even though I have lived in the area for 2 years - this was the first time that I visited the chipotle at West Windsor . Poor is how I would rate this location. Poor service - no smiles around, in a hurry to prepare the food, as if we have a flight to catch, confusions at check out and stuff that was not packed correctly. When I got home the salsa had found its way out of the box and all over the bean bag. BTW the bean bags are not strong enough too - they put a bowl and burrito in one bean bag and the bag just gave in ! Poor food - cold and overlooked - the steak was so hard and extremely difficult to eat. This early 20th Century song plays in my head as I think about Chipotle Mexican Grill on Rt. 1 in West Windsor, New Jersey (excuse me, but it ain't Princeton). Where I used to find this once subsidiary of McDonald's a decent alternative for relatively healthy food in a Mexican guise, after experiencing the real deal comidas Mexicanas in a variety of wonderful restaurants both in la patria and around the USA, I can do so no longer. The long lines, the uncomfortable seating, the basically unchanging menu, just leaves me unfulfilled. Yes. The food is okay and sometimes better, but compared to what is available nearby by way of startlingly great Mexican restaurants with dishes that will knock your socks off, Chipotle does not measure up. It pales, and blands, by comparison. If you want to try authentic and delicious Mexican food it is easy to find. These are small shops, and often given the loving designation, "Hole in the Wall." I hesitate to disclose which they are for fear they will be inundated by all of us. But, if you do a little searching here on Yelp, they are around. They may not be as healthy as Chipotle, and if that is your priority, please remain faithful to them. I like to call this the adult version of a high school cafeteria. One of the common complaints I noticed from the reviews are the long lines which happens to be the case when I visited on a Wednesday afternoon. Although the line was long (we started near the entrance), it only took around ten minutes until my turn. I ordered the tortilla bowl with chicken, pinto beans, brown rice, sour cream, corn, and guac. This is not gourmet nor is it something you want to savor. This $10 bowl ($7-8 without guac) is meant to fill you up with somewhat healthy food and get you going for the remainder of the day. The food, while not terrible, tasted like high school food if they were to serve Mexican style food. The point of the restaurant is efficiency and they do it well. You move along the line like a herd of cows and pick your choice of black beans or pinto beans, brown rice or white rice and so on. When I ordered the guac, I was reminded that it would be an extra charge, but the portion was very generous (it seems like no one really orders the guac). The portions are large if you get the bowl and it does a good job of filling you up. I don't have complaints about the food, but I'm not a big fan of it either. read more

I could barely tell the assembly line that I wanted my burrito bowl a certain way before they promptly sealed it up and threw it into a bag. Great food, great people.. Although this location is incredibly stingy with how much rice or protein they give you.. I had to ask them if they could put a little more because usually put just a half of spoon, whereas the location in Trevose, PA packs those bowls to the top!! I find that this location is also more expensive than the one in PA, we get 2 bowls and 2 drinks each time, to comes out to over $19 here and a little under $18 at the other location... When i saw the new location by trader Joes, i was really excited to take the guys and gals of the Princeton office to enjoy what i love. i was super disappointed. So ... you don't have online or app ordering ... and when you call and say your ordering nine meals, they say they can't take that order over the phone. So you go to the location, tell them your ordering nine meals and are greeted with a snotty attitude. To top it off, you then can't even get the order correct and don't bother to label any of the food (because, ya know, it's so easy to see inside a burrito). Quite possibly the worst Chipotle I have ever been to. The employees are awful here. The girl making the meals rolled her eyes everytime someone spoke to her. She also seemed to make sure to put as little meat as possible on each order. A man in front me called her out on it and I thought she was going to rip his head off! My tacos with barbaco literally looked pathetic how little meat she put on. When I finally got to the cash register even the girl working there was rude! She had me stand there for 5 minutes while she shouted over top of me to employees who were off their shift and eating there before cashing me out. The whole soda and sauce area was extremely messy and needed reorganized and wiped down. Every single tobasco sauce was empty. I ordered chips and guac and the chips were extremely stale! Usually a line but the line moves quickly. The food is always fresh oh so tasty. I have read that Chipotle uses some organic ingredients and naturally raised beef which is good for chain restaurant. Parking can be a bit of a pain because the lot is also for Pei Wei and Trader Joe's. I just tell myself the few extra steps will help me burn off the extra guacamole on my burrito bowl. read more

Chipotle is one of my favorite economical places. I love their story and their mission. Helping the world to be better even though they are just a Mexican eatery. It sounds kind of pretentious but they make it seem cool. Taste is A+. Delicious local ingredients all wrapped in a tasty tortilla or put in a recycled bowl. They also have tacos and kids meals. Then when she passed the meat after saying I would like carnitas, she scolded me "do not point your fingers over her" like I just insulted her god. I'll never be back to this chipotle, not that I wouldn't enjoy coming back for the entertainment of their child like staff, but I'd rather give my dollars to a place with kinder faces and folks. Compared to other Chipotle, not clean and not organized. Portions are often on the small side. Not friendly if you arrived early for a pickup. Server today also muttered under her breath because I asked for veggies after she moved the container assuming I wasn't interested. I almost said something to that prick, but I feel bad for her having to work there in retail. This place is garbage but I have to deal with it since it's still one of the few edible fast food places nearby. Let's face it, Chipotle is awesome, pretty much without even trying (or so it seems to me!) but Princeton's disorganization really ruins the experience here. I regularly go to two other locations, Bridgewater and Paramus, and they are amazing. The food at Princeton doesn't even seem as tasty as the other two. Not to mention they are ALWAYS out of stuff. Today, inexplicably, they closed at 6:00. If you were to ask me I would say it's because they were out of everything. I honestly can't think of a single time when I haven't left Chipotle genuinely gratified and completely full. So glad they opened a convenient location off of Route 1 and Meadow road, and right next to Trader Joe's. It's always packed in here and they're usually open on holiday's (check actual timings on specific holiday's, though). I also really appreciate that they're one of the more progressive venues to have sofritas as a substitute for meat. This has only upped the burrito bowl game for me, and I find myself coming here a lot more because of it. read more

Love it! We have gone here twice since it opened and both times it was busy, but efficient! Our meals were fresh and tasty and the staff friendly and prompt. I'm sure that once the novelty wears off the crowds will be less, but even with the lines out the door things move smoothly. My favorite is the vegetarian bowl with brown rice and medium salsa. It's a bit big, but so yummy that I don't notice until I'm stuffed! read more

I had never eaten at a Chipotle but was driving by at 2PM and thought it might be a good time to give it a try. I can't believe this business model is franchised. I ordered a "chicken bowl" and everything is just spooned in slapdash into the container, no portion control evident, and try getting the attention of the servers while they're carrying on a conversation amongst themselves the whole time. There is one price at the beginning of the line, but if you make the mistake of getting "queso" (VERY bad description of what I got) or guacamole, the price goes up, and you don't find out until the end. I chose to eat in and the tables had not been cleaned for quite some time. Rice was overly seasoned with cilantro, it dominated all the other elements of said bowl. I will never visit any Chipotle again, that's for sure. Yuck. read more

Incredible. I have to tell you, the line was out the door when I got there... which actually made me hesitant. But, those kids have their act down, cold. The lined moved quickly and efficiently, I think when all was said and done, i waited about 15 minutes. The people behind the counter were courteous, and extremely upbeat, in spite of the stress that they were no doubt experiencing. I left with a very tasty burrito and burrito bowl for my hubby. Am I the only one who thinks Chipotle and Qdoba are the exact same thing? I mean don't get me wrong, Chipotle is great. Went there last night for dinner and was greeted with a massive line that threatened to go out the door. Surprisingly the line went pretty fast, a credit to the efficiency of the place! The food was fresh as usual, the people making the food were nice and helpful, and they gave me a TON of food so really nothing to complain about whatsoever except the line. Can't really complain about the line though, it's really just indicative of the fact that they serve a good product. For some reason, this chipotle can't seem to get an online order accurate. Three separate occasions they've incorrectly given me the wrong bag on pick up. After checking the bags when leaving, it is never met with an apology - just a glance and they give me the accurate bag. Recently today, I ordered a burrito and got a bowl. I'm not sure why online orders are a bit challenging for this store, but the amount of incorrect orders I've received on top of unsympathetic staff who does not seem to care for the customers, leaves me with a 2 star review. read more
