We ordered at 4:45 for 5:45 pick up. It was ready on time; that's the only good thing. The restaurant had more than 30 people waiting to order. Drove home - about 15 minutes away. My carnitas burrito had no carnitas - zero. My husband's burrito was not properly wrapped (ran out of aluminum foil maybe?). His burrito was not closed and had a big hole in it. I tried to call to remedy the situation but there was no answer. I am updating this review because the restaurant responded and gave me a refund. Food: this establishment is constantly low on supply with no intentions to replenish any of their food supplies in a timely manner. Examples: chicken being the only protein option with nothing being cooked on the grill; lettuce tray being empty with no timely refill; drinks supply being empty. Employees: the employees have either been disrespectful or unhelpful the times that I have visited. When asking general questions, they answer with little care and almost seemed annoyed that I'm asking questions regarding their food, such as "when will the beans be refilled?" Environment: the place is dirty and disorganized. Tables are not cleaned, the floors are dirty, and utensil supply containers are always empty. The drink supply area is cluttered with straw wrappings with napkins everywhere. Overall, if you are dying for your basic chipotle fix in Rehoboth Beach, then I guess this is your only option. This place is a disaster. My family and I walk in and go to the front to start our order. A short African American guy ignores us when we are talking by to him. He then points to the sign that says "online orders only" but still says no words. We do the online order and he asked us if we were together with another family because we were helping them look for their order. We said no multiple times and he continued to ask. We said again "no, and why does it matter" he then says "you're being rly rude for someone making your food." There was an African American girl there who was putting the stuff in bags and on the shelves. She was super friendly and helpful with answering peoples questions. Her name was Brittany. The rude guy was not answering questions and ignoring people. He simply looked missable to be there. A man next to us also complained about him and said he was being "extremely rude and that it is unnecessary." Now with the food. It is already extremely inconvenient that they were only taking online orders because of everything taking longer. When we got out bowls one of them had an uncooked piece os steak that I had to physically spit out. The chips were the worst chipotle chips I have ever tasted. They couldn't even break that's how thin and undercooked they were. My queso was extremely cold. The short African American guy also waved and smiled sarcastically when we were leaving. I will not be going to this Chipotle again and I will certainly not recommend it to anyone. I think this chipotle needs to hire more people so they can do in person and online orders as well as hire nice people who can treat customers with respect and talk to them. The food is fine. However, the restaurant has been markedly unclean the last several visits. The visits were different days and times during the high summer season. Discussion with the manager revealed insufficient staffing on busy days necessary to cook and serve the food AND maintain cleanliness in the restaurant. I will not return. read more

I love Chipotle and am a frequent eater. I have never had a bad review to write about any Chipotle but this one turned me off a little bit. The workers aren't very friendly and they were out of salad dressing. Not even sure why I'm going to do a review as I hate posting anything negative, and let's be honest this is a chain restaurant so the food will always taste the same if not similar. So this has nothing to do with the food that is served, but the customer service the cleanliness, etc. When we arrived there were a few patrons, however, their was not a line and they were not busy. Walking in and seeing the dirty tables; food, napkins, straw wrappers, etc on the floor and tables (see the photos I attached), I'd like to note this is not the first time I have seen this location like this as I have eaten here for lunch during the work week during the tourist summer season, so I can understand if they're a little overwhelmed then, but when you're practically empty their is no reason for this. So I'll do this in a list: 1) mall map on the floor 2) rice, meat, lettuce on the floor 3) napkins, straw wrappers,trash on the floor 4) all napkin dispensers empty when I asked for a napkin they handed me 1 (there was 4 of us) 5) coke dispenser was out of the syrup and just had seltzer water coming out. I let them know, the young guy gave me a scornful look 6) I was told by my wife the bathroom had no toilet paper and her and my 7yr old daughter had to use brown hand towel 7) when ordering my son asked for "pork" tacos, granted the place calls it carnitas, you can't tell me an employee doesn't know what type of meat is used. Anyway as opposed to being nice and asking for clarification the girl with the crooked glasses decided be rude and nasty to my son, I raised my voice at her and told her "he meant carnitas, he didn't know the name". Her response, "it's best to know what you want before ordering". 8) their were about 8 people total working however one was cooking another guy was working the line and one guy was cashing out. While in the back they where yelling and carrying on loudly that the three people actually doing their job seemed embarrassed. My review is more in hopes that a regional manager or even Tangier's Outlet mall rep sees this and straightens up the place. The only reason why I can see this place hasn't gone out of business is because it's Chipotle, if this was a mom and pop restaurant people would have ripped this place to shreds where it would be closed. Anyway if you want Chipotle in Sussex/Kent go to Dover location at least they seem to be friendly take pride in themselves and their place they work in. There were a couple of photos I won't share due to the fact as I would not presume to post any photos of the actual employees who are working at this location. Aside from it being very dirty and not even having a trash can outside for dinning area, employees are very rude and confrontational when they mess up and put the wrong topping on ones order and are ask to make it again. I ordered a salad with no rice beans or salsa just lettuce protein veggies and quac. Going in at 8:00pm and they were out of white and brown rice. No steak or chicken was cooked and everything was limited on what they had. I would give this restaurant zero or negative stars if I could. Place an order online, arrived at the stated pickup time. Our food was not ready until over 50 minutes after the stated pickup time. The restaurant was not busy, & there were five workers who were standing around, laughing, talking with their friends, on their cell phones, and only one or two at a time seemed interested in trying to make food. Absolutely zero sense of urgency, and no organization whatsoever. To make it even better, when we got home we realized that part of the order was missing and I had to go back. The food itself wasn't terrible, just OK-- DEFINITELY not worth the 1 & 1/2 hrs it took to get it, especially not @ that price. Will NEVER order from this Chipotle again! read more
