Great food and speedy service! Was in and out in under 30 minutes. Wasn't very busy for a Saturday night.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere. One negative is that service can be very inconsistent. In the off-season, the service is great and the food is almost always delicious. However, in season, I experienced something unpleasant; I had ordered three crunchy beef tacos with cheese, but I randomly found carrots and potatoes inside. If you like that, go ahead and take a risk with eating here during the spring/summertime. If you prefer tacos with no filler, I would suggest visiting off season for the best food and service possible. read more

I'll start with writing something nice. In the business world we call this a compliment sandwich but since this is a Mexican restaurant, it'll be a "compliment quesadilla". The margarita flight was good. Just the right amount of alcohol and good selection of flavors, though the presentation, hallmarked with half-melted ice cubes on the tiny serving tray, inspired little admiration for its preparation. Normally I don't care that much about appearances but the atmosphere of this place felt like it was stepping back into the 1980s - my grandparents basement to be exact - complete with shiplap walls, little to no Mexican themes (grandparents were of slavic descent) and limited light. It was slightly less clean and I can concur from one of the other reviews that the food stuck to the menus popped out in surprise, distracting me from the itemized list of Mexican and ocean-inspired cuisine. There was music, but I'm pretty sure I heard Cher, so it wasn't exactly the kind of music you'd expect to hear in a Mexican restaurant. The service was just... weird. I wasn't sure if I was welcome there or an inconvenience. Every time it was time to order it felt like we were being given a verbal pop quiz by an impatient gym teacher. Then the food came out and it was lackluster experience to say the least. I got a burrito that might have been 1/8 meat and the rest filler. It would have made any muscle head beach-type body builder order another 6 to get the necessary proteins. Also at the table, we had enchiladas sans an adequate amount of enchiladas sauce, so embarrassingly light, it was like a burrito pretending it had another name. The strangest phenomenon was the inclusion of potatoes in the beef tacos. We weren't sure if it was a mistake or meant to make them look fuller due to the anti-protein vibes that seem to conflict the chefs that work here. We heard there was dessert, cheesecake, from the waiter, though we weren't sure he wanted us to stay any longer. Our party quickly paid and gathered our things to leave. I suppose there needs to be another compliment here to make this a complete "compliment quesadilla"? The good news is that we had enough room for more food on the nearby boardwalk, which was fun and inviting especially after this unfortunate dining experience. 2 stars because the drinks were good, but I hear there are other Mexican places nearby that can do that well too, and much more. read more

Not impressed overall. We came right after the season witch festival and waited a long time for a waitress. She got our food wrong a few times when repeating. The food came out late, and my Dad's soup didn't come. The waitress said what did you order? He told her again, she left, and never came back. They didn't have enough staff for the amount of people eating. We all eat, my Dad has no food. I couldn't order another drink, my son had no ketchup. The waitress came over after my Mom flagged her down, and we said where is the soup? She said oh they said it didn't taste good in the kitchen. Sorry it's bad. So my dad said just take it off the bill I ate enough chips. I had to go track the wait staff down for us to get ketchup for my sons kids meal and the bill. Then of course the soup was on the bill..... terrible service and wait times. To make things worse, I went to the bar to order my second drink, the bar tender charged me for two drinks. He was then rude when I said, I only ordered one drink. Tried to give me cash, the wrong amount back, I said, no my drink was $6, it says that on the menu. My family still hadn't gotten their check paid, so more waiting. The food was mediocre for Mexican. The salsa was the best part but can't give it more than 1.5 or 2 stars. It was empty with maybe one other family there on a Thursday night of a holiday Week in summer. We quickly realized dinner was most likely not a smart move but ordered drinks. Took a long time to get our drinks which were pretty much watered down all the way by the time we got them. Decided to get nachos cause we needed something. We asked for chicken. No chicken. Looked like they were just put in a microwave with cheese. Maybe two tomatoes and lettuce and sour cream. We got jalapeños on side and they did give several. Service: I read a lot of comments on here from other Yelpers saying that the service wasn't good. I had a different experience, our service was actually pretty good for the two times we have been there (summer 2023 and summer 2024). Food came out really quick too! Atmosphere: loudish, music bumpin but you can still talk and clearly hear the people at your table without issues. The place was clean both times we came. Food: Delicious! Not excessively busy but a lone server running her tail off. Seems to be the theme the week before memorial weekend We haven't been back in over a decade since what was exceptional became so so after a few years. Since my knees and back were about to give out the spouse relented and we gave it another go. Glad we did she finally got the crab meal she has been seeking since we got here and it was everything she hoped. Along with a margarita $15 she was happy. Today is our second day in a row back to Dos Locos - we're having a fantastic mother/daughter weekend away and decided to pop in for happy hour yesterday(Friday). Greeted by the KINDEST, SWEETEST hostess. We sat at the bar and were treated like royalty. Very attentive - great margaritas and swirls. We got the nachos and the plate was GINORMOUS - couldn't even eat half. SO dang good. But even after all of that good stuff, what sets this place above all else is Marceala! Yuck! First off, the chips and salsa they put on the table just didn't taste good. Their chips were either bad or just plain gross. But there was something off. And the salsa was just bland. Hard to do wrong with that, but they do. The food was overpriced and really not tasty. I got chicken tacos and the meat was way too salty. So much that it was just gross. Got a side of queso and it was soupy and didn't taste good either. It was $8 for the small, which was such a small amount. The service was horrible. Very slow and then the waiter was really difficult to track down. When he finally delivered the food, he was missing things and it took around 15 minutes to come back with them. What happened ? This was one our favorite restaurants in Rehoboth. I asked if the market priced tuna was fresh and the kind server at least replied no - it's frozen. The large queso for $12 is about 1/2 cup in size. The place was not even half full at 6:30 on a Saturday night in August. The table next to us had a little boy who spilled a bowl of chips before we got our appetizers . The chips stayed on the floor while servers walked over them for the duration of our meal. Had dinner here Wednesday evening. Maria our waitress greeted us with a smile, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and made a couple of recommendations which were gems! Dos Locos is very nicely decorated, it quiet with a chill Mexican vibe. Our appetizers of chips and salsa with Guacamole came out quickly. Both are made fresh daily with their own recipe. The chips were warm and crispy. We asked for some extra spice for the salsa, Marie brought out a house made hot sauce which was perfect. Both appetizers were delicious. I asked for a "plate on the lighter side" and chose the carne asada. It was terrific and perfectly cooked. It was accompanied with rifritos, rice, sour cream, salad, pico de gallo and fresh warm tortillas. We also had their empanada sampler with their special sauce. So so good! The parking was easy. This is the first time I've been to Dos Locos since Covid. I enjoyed it prior to Covid. I believe they've taken the menu and service to a new level. Will most definitely be back. read more

Ever since the original owners sold the restaurant its gone down hill! I keep thinking I should try it again. it never fails to disappoint!!! Today's takeout for a quick lunch was suppose to be tacos. I have never had tacos with carrots and potatoes. and where is the taco seasonings!?!?! Not to mention they didn't even include the flour tortillas. When I called to ask for the tortillas they refused to provide them. The only Mexican restaurant that has tortillas that break before you put anything in them. My fajitas sizzled for the five seconds it took to reach my table. They had no flavor and the rice was cold. Restaurant was nearly empty at 7:00 Thursday night. From time of ordering it took 40 minutes for a chicken burrito. When order arrived it was a beef burrito. The service, as others mentioned, was very slow and the waitress forgot to get us our drinks for 15min till we flagged someone down. She was just frantically running around restaurant hardly making eye contact with her customers. Quiet chill place. Probably because it was Sunday, but what amazing deals they have all week. Appetizers are almost all under $10. Very affordable and filling. Here on vacation and decided to come to this location. I've been to the one on John J Williams Highway, but figured since this is on the beach, same chain...why not?!?? Well, we arrived and there were dirty empty tables and booths because there was not enough manpower. We knew the drinks and food we wanted so that when he arrived we could just order. He stated that "we cannot do that because the kitchen was backed up." Not sure what one had to do with the other; but.....ok. We saw other tables with other servers and they ordered and got their food before we did. Food - the swirl had no taste, the steak quesadilla had no flavor and tasted gross. The shrimp and bean burrito tasted strange as well, as if the sauce and cheese was old. We ordered a mango margarita pitcher ($5 off for happy hour), guac and a quesadilla to share. The small guac is sufficient for two people to share. They gave all of us our own little salsas, loved that. The chips were nice and fresh. We were not a fan of this place. The server was really slow and I felt like they forgot to check on us. We never got refills. The music (SiriusXM BPM) was pretty loud for a restaurant. The AC must not have been working right as there was a GIANT fan set up right next to our table that made it so loud we could barely talk. Additionally, the insane wind it created was too much. This is a staple in Rehoboth. I've tried nearly everything on the menu over the years and I've always been impressed with the quality of the food (and drinks)! The service is always a bit slow and the restaurant tends to be crowded and cramped, as tables are often cramped together, but the food outshines everything else. There is always a long wait as well, so if you're planning on visiting, especially during the summer months, definitely plan ahead and grab a reservation! We made reservations ahead of time and came in around 8pm on Cinco de Mayo. We waited about 10 minutes and from what I overheard, there was about a 1 hour 30 minute wait to be seated without a reservation. There were a bunch of specials for Cinco de Mayo and we ordered the 26oz. frozen margarita from that menu. It was a pretty good size to share between 2 people and although I don't remember the exact price, I remember it not being anything crazy. My boyfriend and I ordered Guacamole Hecho En Casa (Homemade Guacamole), Queso Blanco and the Crab Mountain to share. We loved the unlimited tortilla chips we could order for our dips and the guacamole tasted fresh. We were a little disappointed with the Crab Mountain. It's a bit pricy for how much you get and is bland for my taste. I kept having to eat it with avocado just to turn it into something more. We did come in during a holiday and we were prepared for service to be a bit slower, but we did not see our server very much. When we did see her and asked a question about the menu, she was not very knowledgable about it and we had to keep opening the menu up to point to exactly what we wanted. A group of friends and I took a day drop to Rehoboth Beach and stopped here for dinner before driving back. Upon entry, we were told that it would be a 30 minute wait for the 6 of us but we looked up and saw both an empty booth and empty table that could fit us once wiped off. Once we pointed that out, the hostess spoke with someone before having it cleaned off and let us sit. The waiter was attentive; he seemed to have had a rough day but I could tell he was determined to. It let that affect his service to us which was very much appreciated. The food was quite tasty with a very extensive menu. I chose the chorizo fajita and it was more than enough food! I also shared the crispy calamari which was quite tasted; I recommend theirs for sure. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food as well. The atmosphere was loins and bustling but that's to be expected in a beach town on a Saturday evening. I'd recommend this place based on the food and if you're ok with a loud atmosphere, but the host staff and some of the other staff I observed seemed to have had a stressful day in what could be seen as a busy environment. read more
