Upon arrival the doors were filthy with prints and grease like smears. The eating areas were dirty and the tables looked sticky. The guy preparing the food indicated that I couldn't get a quesadilla unless I ordered it online but he could make me a smaller kids quesadilla. I've never heard anything like that before and though I presume there's a reason he never provided it. I ordered a steak burrito instead and the pinto beans looked and later tasted dry and overcooked. The steak serving was small and the pico de gallo was low. A new container replaced it and the left over was placed on top and not stirred in so I got that portion. The chips were overcooked and the cheese was cold and thick like plaster. The guy preparing the take out orders was complaining and talking to himself while the cashiers were laughing behind his back. Because of the lack of cleanliness I bought a bottled Coke Zero not trusting their beverage area. When I walked over to get napkins the dispenser was rusting and the forks and spoons were scattered about on the counter. When I arrived at my location to eat my $22.62 meal I could only make it through half of it. I figured I'd crush the chips and feed wildlife and give the steak from the burrito to my dog. I got a couple tacos with different proteins and the girl didn't know the difference between chicken and steak. I literally had to point at each ingredient because communicating wasn't working. Then as I'm paying for my food I was owed 71 cents and the cashier asked if I cared about the change because he didn't have it. Probably the worst chipotle location which is SAD. I'd like to come a lot more than I do but I just cannot. Always SO dirty- counters, floors, tables, chairs, everything- literally. Always "out" of so many things. Rice?? Sour cream? MEAT?? The service here is absolutely terrible. My girlfriend and I went here to get bowls when we were rudely greeted by a man who provided nothing but attitude the entire interaction. They were running low on barbacoa and instead of refilling it (like a normal person) he gave me the scraps of what was left. I asked to add carnitas to fulfill the rest of what my portion should have been to the next lady when he passed the bowl off. He rudely interrupted and said "its gonna be a double" when there wasn't even a single in my bowl. Not to mention the cashier who was there and absolutely one of the most disgustingly rude girls i've ever met. Chipotle on Route 58 in Riverhead is a good option when looking for light healthier style southwestern food. The people were friendly, efficient, the store clean, the food fresh. Tip: Go in and order in person - When doing the app, it gives a time 15 minutes after the order was put in and made. If traveling to go.. could result in chilled food. Also items like salsa, guacamole can be not put on in the right amount if not there to watch it made. Couldn't find my add on guacamole when back. Any time in person, made to order food was great. But I like this particular location because it is: (1) extremely clean including the restrooms (2) very bright with ample seating; and (3) home to a team of very pleasant employees. This is also a very BUSY store- probably because it is one of the better food options for miles- and sometimes can have a longer wait or be a little hectic. However, I always notice that the staff are doing their best to keep up with the rush. That's really nice to see, and they deserve a little more patience than some of the negative reviews suggest. read more

Every table top was dirty & needed to be wiped down, no napkins in any napkin container, the plastic forks were upright in the fork holder so every time someone reaches for a fork they can't help but get their grubby hands all over the all the ends you put in your mouth on all the forks. Good help is hard to come by, and this chipotle is struggling to find a position for the distinction in their staff. Settle in for a fun rollercoaster of a story. So this past Monday was 1/2 priced entries if you wore a hockey jersey. I felt like I was at an nhl scouting event. Dozens of different teams and what team was working the hardest? Chipotle's! Everyone behind the line was hustling to keep up with the huge demand. Food came out great and served quickly. As we approach the register, we saw this vicious looking guy who couldn't be bothered to put his phone down. After literally minutes of waiting I did the most Karen shit I could have. "Is someone going to ring this up?" he looked up from his cell phone at me. " there I got him" I thought to myself... nope, he went right back to texting. then stepped forward. "What did you get" in the most go f yourself tone possible. his coworker had to stop him and say "bro, come on, it's written right on the lid. Don't be like that with customers" My wife then asked for dressing to which the crow points to the other end of the bar and says " dressing is down at that end. You should've ordered it down there." Before my wife went off on him I asked "hey could you go down there and get it? "next time ask down there it's not my job to get it" I informed him that I the other chipotle's tell me to ask by the register because a lot of them store it in the drink fridge to which he replied "well we don't, this location prefers you order it down there." Again in just a real go f yourself attitude. I very politely reminded him, you may not recognize me because I don't fu***** work here and it's not a hobby of mine to check in with ever chipotle location on their food storage policy. (As someone with a food manager's certification I would understand cold dressing not being stored on a hot line and the fridge makes the most sense) Annoyed he asked again "whatever bro, what did you order?" I guess my wife took this opportunity knowing we were NOT bros to interject, "if you weren't texting maybe you would have gotten the order all 3 times it's been said." "Oh, it's gonna be like that?" He remarked. When words started getting exchanged I stepped in and just ask to finish the transaction so we can just leave but the Adams family decided to put his hands up "nah someone else can ring you up" then into the back he went. Moments later, appear to be a manager came out very polite very apologetic. "Sorry for that" (my next joke may be considered insensitive) I replied to the manager in an attempt to try and lighten the mood " no problem man the school shooter seems like he's having a bad day" while the manager appears to have taken this obviously harmless attempt at lightning the mood properly no matter how insensitive. The coworker who previously was implying that professor Snape should be polite and pull. His weight was now screaming across the counter at me that that remark was uncalled for. " dude what the hell that was uncalled for there's no reason to say shit like that." Now it is not my responsibility to inform the social justice, Harry Potter. I find confrontation, uncomfortable, and try and mask it with humor. But rather took the moment to remind him that he himself was calling out hot topic only moments ago. I'd like to take one final moment to acknowledge the whole situation based on the fact that other customers approached me while I was walking out and said that that kid was an asshole to them as well unfortunately, I feel like the tall lanky guy with tattoos on his right forearm Probably should be terminated or move to a position where he doesn't have to deal with customers. But ultimately, and this is for management he did the right thing while he started an altercation and he gave customers an attitude when he saw himself not being able to contain himself anymore, rather than having a complete outburst, he put his hands up and he removed himself from the situation. Which was the first proper and professional thing he did. Everyone Has a bad day and if this was the first time that he acted like this with customers, then he shouldn't be penalized for it maybe just moved to a different position. However, while my comments could have been taken as inappropriate, it was said with the intention of trying to inject humor into the situation not everybody likes dark humor. I get it, but the least professional thing that was done is when curly decided he was going to stand up for the other stooge. Yelling across the counter at a customer is just as if not more inappropriate than name-calling and the only reason why I went with something like that was because other things that came to my head other similar inappropriateness, perhaps could have been realistic and I didn't want to say anything that perhaps could've hit too close to home. Chipotle Riverhead is almost always out of the main staple ingredients, chicken both regular and el pastor, and pork or steak. They put a sign on the front door saying they are having equipment failure or power shortage. This is very consistent I go almost once a week. Tried 2x this week and they were out both days. Today myself and 3 other customers that were on line turned around and left. Truly money walking out the door. Whoever owns this location is losing big $. Also there is 2 small piles of construction debris in the parking lot. There for 2 days now. One pile of rusty metal bits and another pile of tiles by the handicap spot by the road. I don't normally take the time out of my day to review on Yelp. Instead, I normally use it to look at reviews when I am in a foreign area to help me decide where to go to eat. Please take the 60 seconds to read this. This is during a pandemic, mind you. Around 7:45PM on June 24, 2020 I go in and all customers are wearing face masks. All employees are wearing face masks except for one, apparently the manager. I quickly noticed that her face mask was on her face, but PULLED DOWN BELOW HER CHIN. Absolutely disgusting. She was a white woman, maybe about mid 30s with braces. Did not think to ask for her name. I know she is the manager because the nice young gentleman named Matt behind the counter who took my order answered me, "Yes", when I asked if she was the manager. Very appalling to me that a manager in foodservice was so blatantly disregarding "normal" public protocol during a pandemic. I myself have 9 years experience in food service and have never experienced something so repulsive. I waited in line twice; once to see that there was no steak or chicken left in the front of the house, and the second time to finally order my burrito. I was originally told by Matt that the new steak and chicken batches would be ready in 10 minutes. So I went outside and gave them the benefit, waited 15-20 minutes. When I came back in for the second time, there was STILL no steak, and only a 1/3 filled container of chicken. I also noticed the manager was STILL not wearing her PPE correctly. I placed my order with Matt and he was very compliant with my order even though the place had obviously been poorly managed. Not only was there a shortage of chicken and steak, but also lettuce and cheese. Matt managed to quickly put together the ingredients for me, taking them from somewhere in the back of the house. All the while, the ignorant and incompetent manager was running around communicating with her employees while at the same time leaning over (multiple times) the food in the front of the house, failing to keep up with the demand, and failing to adhere to health and safety standards. I have actually been to shit holes that were much better managed than what I've experienced this night. I love Chipotle, and this is the closest one to me for miles, but based on my awful experience I have to say I will never eat at that location again for the rest of my life. Props to Matt. read more

She had put rice in my bowl I couldn't believe how little she put it barely covered the bottom of the bowl and I got a few others toppings . It was difficult to find a table that wasn't visibly dirty. Bathrooms had overflowing garbage. Because of the lack of cleanliness, we were sitting right by where the line forms and it was a little uncomfortable having people so "in your face" as you eat. But...everything was pretty quiet and acceptable UNTIL an employee had her break. Some employee with pink/red hair. She set up shop at a table and BLASTED her phone. She was watching iCarly on her break. It took us a while to realize that it was her. It was so loud it sounded like maybe someone had put the show on a tv with external speakers, but no, this woman had some sort of mega loud phone. She didn't pick up on any of the social cues around her, people scoffing, staring, etc. And she worked there! Insane. read more
