Terrific customer service. Neemas I believe is the gentleman who is always serving with a smile on his face no matter how busy it is. That's quiet refreshing because smiling can be contagious. The food is fresh. I've ordered from this location a prior to this review. It's usually busy on a Friday and Saturday. I've been her several times over the past 2 years, and it's been the same story pretty much each time - Dry, cool meat and an unkept dining area. This last trip, had me digging for meat in my burrito bowl...SO MUCH rice, and maybe 1/4 cup of meat, really? Come on. Every time I come It seems like none of the employees are paying attention to detail - forks and napkins will be empty, tables not wiped down, garbage over flowing, bathroom DISGUSTING. Doing as much volume as they must do in a busy mall, you'd think they'd be able to hire effective management... I'll give this place another try down the road (but no time soon), perhaps management/ownership will use these reviews to their advantage & step up their game a bit. Just your average Chipotle located conveniently inside the Rockaway mall. Seating area is rather small and be prepared to share a table with other shoppers here. Food was good, exactly what you expect here, the service was fast and they didn't cheap out on the the meat and cheese as they do sometimes and you have to ask for more as if its a huge favor. The workers didn't care about cleanliness and cross contaminated so much of their food. we saw the beans spilling into the meat and they dropped some kind of red sauce down below the buffet table. Chipotle sets the bar high regarding "fast food". My favorite tex-mex/mexican place to go to for a quick lunch/dinner. I can't agree with the other reviewers here regarding the interior layout and seating. If you're treating this place as a "sit down" restaurant you're doing it all wrong. You shouldn't need to hang around here long enough to get uncomfortable, the food is too good to last that long on your plate. This is by far the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. I always get the Barbacoa Burrito bowl and it's always been consistent at other locations but not here. My burrito bowl was smaller compared to other chains - barely any meat was given (even the girl behind me asked for more meat.. I should of done that) and the meat was not as juicy (temperature wasn't hot) as it is at other Chipotle chains I've been to. The brown rice was not fully cooked and the sour cream did not taste right. Ugh I never been to a Chipotle that left me so disappointed. I'm just going to eat at the food court at Rockaway mall next time. read more

The quality of food at the Rockaway NJ Chipotle location is extremely disgusting and lacks the freshness that I have come to expect from Chipotle. After seeing how the chicken was reheated from the night prior and confirming it by asking the employees there it made me extremely frustrated. The rice was also hard and crunchy and didn't have the cilantro. I spend a lot of money at this location and frequently get food here but with the recent increase of lack of quality has definitely made me rethink wether or not I will eat there. read more

I LOVE CHIPOTLE. Lots of negative reviews because reviewers are comparing it to "other Chipotle's" I haven't ever been to any other one but I can say that this one is just fine. The location isn't bad. Its connected to our large Rockaway Mall and it is in a section that stands on its own and you can go right in and not have to go deep into the mall at all. The service is always very fast despite how long a line may be so that is a plus. Also they always have a full working staff so IF an ingredient is running low for example (sour cream) they are extremely quick at refilling. A+ read more

I find Chipotle to pretty consistent across the country. If you want a burrito or a burrito bowl and you have 10 bucks burning a hole in your pocket, this is a solid place to go to fix that problem. Their ingredients are fresh - the spicy salsa could stand to be spicier, but all-in-all not bad for a chain restaurant that specializes in making burritos that are nearly impossible to eat without getting messy. read more

This must be the worst Chipotle ever. The food from this location is not even close to what it tastes like at other Chipotle locations. Every time I go there they always have cold or a little bit of meat. They never have a lot because they don't have the volume. On multiple occasions I found the chicken was under cooked chicken too is not grilled the same way as other places. read more

Let's be honest, Chipotle is no big deal. It's burritos with a limited selection but they are consistent. This location is rarely crowded versus other chipotle restaurants. If you like this kind of food, I have found Qdoba outside the mall to be a bit better or even Pancheros on Route 10. read more

Sad...I got an allergic reaction to the food. Hives spread all over my body for about a week. I used benadryl for only half of the week, thinking it would go away but all of the hives didn't go away until a week and a half later. So disappointed. Foods good as usual but I think this is a new store format. Quite frankly, it's terrible. Ridiculously loud, echoey. The glass at the order counter is so high the employees can't hear you and you can't hear them. The music is so loud and everything is a hard surface you have to tell to hear anyone. Fixed in place stools are to far away from the tables to be comfortable. (I'm 6-1 and they're to far away for me). This idea needs a lot if work. Place was an absolute mess. My wife and I stopped in with our daughter while doing some Christmas shopping - the floors and every table were covered with food and trash! We ordered a kids quesadilla for our daughter which was basically a small tortilla with a pile of cheese melted to the foil wrapping. She couldn't even eat it. I went back to the counter and they were nice enough to remake it for me but the second wasn't much better than the first. Our burritos were overstuffed as well and created a mess as we ate them. I'd recommend a deep clean, consistently throughout the day. Probably won't return to this one. read more

Chipotle is Chipotle is Chipotle. Out of the major fast Mexican establishments, Chipotle reigns king. Chipotle (aka Chipoodle) just opened up its new location at Rockaway mall. Interestingly enough, there is also a Moe's in the same complex (albeit outside of the mall proper as opposed to "inside" of it). What sets Chipotle apart from other fast Mexican restaurants is its commitment to quality, freshness, and excellence. Every other fast Mexican chain seems to provide you with ingredients that just don't taste fresh. Everything at Chipotle is fresh from the meats to the cheese (which is such amazingly awesome cheese). I also love their hot salsa. Unlike competitors whose hot salsa is just hot, this is hot and has flavor. It is also really good with their chips. Chips is another thing that sets Chipotle apart. The lime and sea salt are a great combination together. They are flavorful unlike other competitors. One sad thing is that they go stale quickly (which is an ode to how fresh and natural they are!). I have yet to have a problem with employees hearing me as the glass is neither too high nor is the music too loud. Highly recommend going. You will not regret it. read more

Just recently went to this chipotle,what a waste of time and money! The workers there are so rude and push you through the line. Made no eye contact whatsoever. Never said thank you and never smiled. I'm a hard ass when it comes to customer service and it's really not that hard to smile and not rush the customer. This was also the first time I have ever gone to a chipotle so I didn't quite know how the line system worked and the people there were not having any patience for that. Horrible experience! The blueberries they served with the kids meal were not only expired but also moldy! The staff seemed to not care about it at all. After I showed the employee he walked away with them and never came back. We had to get up and find the employee 15 minutes later to see what was going on. The entire fridge was full of moldy, expired blueberry containers! All they did was throw two bags of tortilla chips at us and walk away. After walking away the staff gathered to chat and laugh (probably why they didn't care about the disgusting food they were serving). I have never experienced such poor customer service before. I get it. I understand why people have issues with this place. Went in two days ago and wanted healthy food and had literally no time. The service was not bad. But the food was HORRIBLE. The lettuce was BROWN guys. And they plopped it on the burrito bowl in front of me. WOW. I thought. That's ballsy. Then the guac had obviously turned. This was when it just opened and they obviously were reusing last nights ingredients. Sadly, I didn't notice that the fajita vegetables had turned and bit into the burrito. This was only my second time in a Chipotle restaurant. Last summer I went to the one in Philadelphia while helping my daughter move into her college apartment. I was pleasantly surprised as the bowl I ordered was such a good size and seemed like a good value. I am not one to go to fast food places. Today I went to this location in the Rockaway mall with my son for lunch. I couldn't think of the word to describe it but then I read someone else's review who called it "depressing". That is the perfect word for this dreary place. The three girls working behind the counter were each more idiotic and robotic than the next. I ordered a bowl again, and I felt like i was on a 2-second delay every time these robots said something like "white or brown rice" as I could barely comprehend what they were saying. The last idiot kind of rushed me through and I had to ask for the lettuce. The bowl i received was SO small. I didn't mention it to my son but while we were eating, I commented on how small the place is. He thought I was referring to my bowl and he said, "Yeah, that is so small." On the other hand, his burrito seemed quite large and he said the girl had just piled on the tomatoes, as though she wasn't paying attention. Right before we left, a couple sat down with their bowls and they were literally piled high with so much food. Fortunately, I hadn't been extremely hungry but suffice it to say I will NEVER go back to that Chipotle, and it turned me off so much that I think it's safe to say that I would never go back to another one even though the first experience had been favorable.The other turn-off was that the small bit of chicken that i did get was a bit dried out.Never again, but I think I said that already. read more
