this review is for an online order. my coworker and i did a joint order. i ordered a bowl which is clearly stated on the sticker they put on the foil. You can see I got a burrito instead. On top of that there wasn't any guacamole in it! my coworker's order was also wildly wrong. she paid for various extra add ons, including chips and salsa, and didn't get them. The real kicker is when she called to the store to let them know they blamed the delivery service...So apparently door dash came in to the store, hopped in back, and made my food! read more

Could there be a Chipotle with worse parking? Maybe the Lloyd Center location in Portland but this one is right there at the top of the list. There are about 25 total spots front and back and good luck if you have anything bigger than a Prius, which appears to be the official car of Chipotle. I ordered my usual, with white rice only, chicken, and cheese with some lettuce on top. It comes in at a very nice 460 calories. A great filling lunch for very few calories. The chicken was a bit over cooked this time and pretty hard. The rice was perfect with just the right amount of cilantro in it. Awesome tasting, but grab the free toothpicks and use the mirror in your car before going back to work. They get you thru the line pretty quickly. Today was good, the line was all the way to the end of the half wall, but moved quickly. Every time I am here there are service men and women dining. Maybe because it is Salem, the state capitol. The tables seem to be cleaned regularly, and the outside was open today. read more

Today's experience was my worst one from any chipotle I've been to. I've had good service here before and it's usually at least the average satisfactory service. I've never gotten such a small serving of everything or had to wait on 1 person serving and ringing up food while half a dozen others are "busy" doing something else... I come for the large almost bursting burritos and only justify the cost for how large they come. I asked for a little more when she put my little half scoop of rice in the dead center of the tortilla and she got just a tiny bit more on the tip of the serving spoon before adding it to the top of the small amount she had already put on. I got a small pinch of meat on top and a normal amount of cheese and she let me add extra lettuce. On average I'd give this location a 4/5 but today was horrible. read more

I moved to Salem at the beginning of 2018. Chipotle has been my go-to for fast veggie-friendly food since then. Since the beginning I've never had a bad experience, the place has always been kept clean, and for a busy location on Lancaster I never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time. I'm usually out of there in 5 minutes or less (often less). Maybe a tiny bit longer during the dinner rush. I'm honestly surprised at all the bad reviews for this location. The manager has provided great service, even helping on the line when needed (one measure of a good manager, not leaving it to everyone else). The workers have been kind and always get my order right. Liz is my favorite worker, she has the perfect balance between being chill and friendly. I haven't had experience online ordering from them so I can't say anything about that. But this IS my preferred location to go to out of all the Salem/Kaizer area. I've been to multiple Portland locations and this store is indeed on par with the rest. So I suggest giving it a try and seeing for yourself, I don't think it will be as bad as some people have said it is. read more

I love chipotle and was genuinely shocked how bad this one was. Usually chipotle's have a ton of bad reviews because people are super picky but this chipotle literally needs corporate to come down. Starting with the rice, the foundation of every meal. It sucked terribly. But to just sum everything up, there was literally 8 people working but only 1 cooking and 1 making people orders. The rest were just standing with their dicks in their hand. They were also literally out of everything meanwhile the place was empty. You know what else was empty were all the ingredients too. This is coming from someone who regularly frequents multiple Chipotle locations all over the USA and Canada. Honestly I was going to give this location 2 stars but I decided to go for 1 because after reading all these negative reviews from YEARS ago, the management at this location doesn't seem to care at all. So here's my 1 star. (The only reason I would have given 2 is because the staff is FAIRLY friendly) Firstly, I've been here on several occasions and it's unlike any other Chipotle. The standards are low here - starting with general cleanliness, the customer service, and speed and efficiency of service. They never seem to run this store with the same efficiency that other stores do and it takes them SO long to get to you in line - even when there's only about 3 people in line and 3 behind the counter? It doesn't make sense. One HUGE disappointment is quality of the food itself. Every time I'm here they are running extremely low and I have NEVER seen them replace the food containers (unlike other locations who are quick to replace them before they even run out completely). That results in cold, hard meats and dried up liquids that are meant to be creamy such as the sour cream. The meat is on a whole other level of poor quality actually - at least the chicken I get usually tastes old, over cooked, and sometimes hard and burnt so it's almost unbearable to eat. Another major issue I have with this place is that they are SO STINGY! Most places will load your bowl/burrito with so much of everything you ask for but this particular location only puts about 1/3 of what every other location puts on orders. I'm not asking for an overflowing bowl, but when I get less than a handful of rice and literally about FIVE SINGLE PIECES of lettuce, that's being cheap and unprofessional. I'm sure there are guidelines that they have to follow and a customer shouldn't have to ask for "extra lettuce" 3 times in a row just to get a NORMAL amount of lettuce. The staff is friendly but I get the feeling that they maybe get in trouble with management if they add a lot - it's ridiculous that you specifically ask for "extra lettuce" and only get 5 pieces on top, so you have to ask again 2 more times. Complaining doesn't seem to do the trick either, they'll make up an excuse to your face to try and negate your opinion. "Customer is always right" is not a familiar term here, it seems. Honestly just stay away from this place. You'll feel sorry when you have the worst stomach ache the entire day and wake up the next day feeling like you have food poisoning. read more

It would be nice if this place had some better training as they are the slowest Chipotle is the area and frequently is out of items that should have been easily prepped ahead of time. The food is fine for fast food Mexican , but I try to stick to the other two Chipotle's in the area that have what appears to be a more competent crew . I cant order from them online as they are the closest to me , but have missed items multiple times (queso,but no chips/ chips, but no queso). My friend and I visited Chipotle on Lancaster, November 20th, mid afternoon. We were the only one's there and walked up to the front where you order. Two or three staff were in the front and a couple in back. They didn't nod or acknowledge us, they continued what they were doing, slowly and seemed to purposely ignore us. We waited patiently for quite a while. Finally they took our orders as though it was very inconvenient for them. I had ordered a salad and when I got to the cashier, I asked for some dressing. "We're out of the little cups" someone called out. I wondered if they could pour some on the salad from the larger container. "We're out of the cups, so we didn't make any." It's hard to describe the pervasive negativity at every step. We had done nothing to create this atmosphere. I used to eat here often before I moved about an hour south. I still visit Salem fairly often, but I will never get a meal at this Chipotle again. I hope that anyone reading this would not go there, either. read more

I ordered. They forgot my sour cream, forgot my corn. They only gave me at least 3 chunk a of meat. The bowl was half full. I ordered chips and queso. They gave me a small bag of chips that were to salty I through them away, they forgot my queso and gave me guacamole , it completely exploded in the bag and made everything soggy. food tasted half assed. read more

I had visited this location last night. Food was good per usual. When I arrived it seemed it was by pure effort that the crew working there had the restaurant running the best they could. Those poor folk were so short staffed that they had to transition to online orders only. While this was a hiccup it did not stop Javier, the manager, and his crew from doing their absolute best. I really hope that the owners of this location do what they can to support their employees. If not for those crew members, this location would be shuttered. read more

I would love to give this chipotle a better review than 2 stars, however, they only are offering orders via app and delivery, you can't even do take out orders and this is the only location doing that. Since they only offer those services, they can mess up your order and you can't even go in to fix it. I received a threatening call from an employee at this location while they were on the clock, when I called to report the incident, the manager actually sided with their employee and justified allowing their employee to get my phone number from their records and threaten me and my family over the phone. Every time I order delivery or pick up from the Lancaster location, something in my order is missing and it's almost never ready by the time I arrive. For these reasons I prefer the south Salem location, they seem to have a better system for getting take out orders ready on time and also making sure customers in line don't have to wait. read more

I don't know about everyone else, but I grew out of cafeteria style dining establishments well before highschool. My man and I stopped in here for lunch and found that the menu was pretty simple: pick your meat. Then decide if you want that in the form of a taco, a burrito, a tostada, or fajitas. Uh... burrito please. Then they cram it with 9 pounds of rice (your choice of white or mexican) so you have to tell them to hold back. And then they proceed to put whatever they want in it, and stop only to ask if you want salsa. If you ask for guacamole, that'll be .75 extra. Fine. Then you sit down to eat the most unflavorful burrito of your life. All I tasted was rice, and not good rice at that. It was like wet stew in a giant tortilla as well. What gives Chipotle? Worst Chipotle I've been to. Steak was soggy and sitting in liquid an inch high. Of the 6 employees working not one had a smile. When asking for more lettuce I was met with another frown, followed by the young girl begrudgingly accepting my request. As if her job depends on the profitability of lettuce. The highlight of my trip would be that I got a double steak bowl for the price of regular steak. I tried the kool aid and I didn't like it. First off, before I get to the food, ordering it was a pain in the arse. My first experience was to get myself and 2 co-workers lunch. Now, I may have had a couple of picky orders, and not knowing how to order there was intimidating. It's like a nascar pit station. The problem is, what if you are clueless how to order? One day I was flying around in my jet pack when all of a sudden my stomach needed food. I lowered myself upon a great Mexican food place. Sure the line was long, but that's what I get for going on a Sunday after church. The parking lot is pretty small but that's not really their problem, people need to suck it up, sorry they're making you walk an extra 50 ft. You had to park on the street? Life must be hard. First world problems. Rant over. The food was amazing. The servers were very professional and even put on new gloves for a gluten free girl. Was awesome. I left very satisfied. The price is a tad high but honestly, it's worth it. I love this place. I left with a smile on my face as I put on my jetpack and flew out of there. It's simple. Roadtrips require great take out options. I ordered a steak burrito to go and opened my bag to see a burrito half wrapped. How am I supposed to eat a burrito salad/tortilla bowl in my friends moms brand-new 2019 Ford Expedition. I ate for a while until the holes in the burrito leaked steak/queso juice into the holes in the tin foil that flowed onto my sweat pants. First let me say that we really like Chipolte. This was our first time eating from the location in Salem. Absolutely terrible. The chicken in my burrito was dry and blah and everything else in there was equally unseasoned and gross. The burrito itself was incredibly sloppy, as it was overstuffed and the worst rolled burrito I've ever had. Seriously, there was SO much extra tortilla on one side of the burrito and not enough on the other side. Not only was it bland in flavor, I could not eat it without having chunks of all the nasty fillings falling all over the table. I have had some unpleasant burritos but I've never had a burrito that was not folded properly--just made this disgusting thing even worse. My fiance got the burrito bowl and it was equally awful. I don't know how this place is still open. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the many other mexican places in the area for a better burrito that is at least properly seasoned and rolled. read more

Let me start by saying I love Chipotle. But as a frequent Chipotle eater, I know there are some things that come with the territory. For example, the chicken gets overcooked (burnt) quite often. But not at this location. As many times as I have frequented it, the food has always been great. Great carnitas (when available). Great steak. Great chicken. I would love to award five stars on consistency alone (and I haven't even mentioned that the service is quite good, too), but the parking is a nightmare. If you drive a clown car or a mini, please ignore this; you'll be fine. Anything larger than a Nissan Leaf, though, and you'll swear whoever designed the parking lot has a part-time job as an auto insurance adjuster. Parking in the back is okay, but try along the street next to KFC. Easy in, easy out. read more

The last time I placed an online order - difficult to mess up, right? - and was charged for two tacos but only given one. I'm probably too trusting and didn't check before leaving. Let me start out by saying we are regulars at Chipotle, we love grabbing something when we are out and about. We always have good service and quality, till we stopped at this one Lancaster Dr in Salem, OR. The group in front of us received the normal good sized portions you expect. If something was low that they were asking for the staff was quick to stock it. Now considering almost everything was out in the line and they had all fresh containers behind them waiting to be filled. My wife had a carnitas bowl, she asked for peppers and received 3 small old peppers. After we asked if there were anymore we were given a blank look then they kept progressing the order to the next step. At the register we asked again and the cashier handed back the bowl and they threw on some green peppers and onions that were pretty much raw. My son had a chicken quesdilla that they forgot about and we had to remind them it was still in the press. I ordered a barbacoa burrito, the tortilla was left to long in the warmer and was pretty crisp. Even though there was a full fresh rice behind them, they made a big show of scraping all the hard rice out of the container, which amounted to about half the normal rice. The called for more barbacoa which there was a decent amount of it surprisingly, they were told it was right behind them by the cook. They ignored that and gave me about less than half the normal amount of meet. I asked for cheese and had to aso for extra since barely any was put on. Save yourself a trip to this one and go to the Keizer Station location, this one is turning us off for a bit. read more

I was just walking by Chipotle with my buddy in his car when the employees came out and starting harassing us, telling us to to bring our "sexy thangs" over so they can get a better look. I love chipotle- like sterotypical white girl - "chipotle is my life" love. That being said, this is one of the worst chipotles I have ever been to. The food is always hit and miss, the service always sucks. Either everyone in the store has just had Botox each time I go or not smiling is actually a required attribute at this location. To top it all off they have one of the worst parking lots. Super small with narrow spaces that soccer moms try to cram their Denali's in. Twice I have had my car scraped down the side in this parking lot and the other person has driven off. They are opening another location at Keizer station and I'm hoping its run by different people but, I'm not holding my breath. You gotta go to Portland or at least as far as lake Oswego for decent chipotle and a service experience that doesn't feel like a prison cafeteria line. read more
