Went though the Drive Thru tonight. Wasted an hour just to find out our order was completely wrong first time then tried to get it corrected again the 2nd time and they still messed up. They had the nerve to take the food BACK after had opened them to see that they weren't correct. The guy even took our receipt and never gave it back. We had asked them to fix it the 3rd time and they wanted to charge us more for their mess up and wanted to argue. On 4/23/2024, my wife went through the drive through at the Lancaster Dr. location. After she brought the order home, we discovered two tacos missing, one green burrito was 30% smaller than the other, the fries were limp and greesy, even though the receipt showed 'well done as was requested. Because their phone was set to FAX, I had to drive across town, with a receipt, to get the order corrected. Or so, I thought. After arriving at the location, I went inside to ask for the manager. The young female asked me what time my wife came in and I showed her the receipt. She said 'that' crew had left and there was NOTHING SHE COULD DO. She refused to provide her name when asked, so I asked for contact info for the district manager. The manager told me, there was just one franchise owner. I was sitting at a table, talking to my wife on the phone and the franchise owner had arrived because they had called him without my knowledge. "Perfect, I thought. He would resolve this, I thought." Not only would he not resolve the problem, he attempted to provoke me, so I would become the bad guy. He sent me on my way after directing a few choice cuss words as a final shot. I will no longer be a customer of Del Taco. my wife and I love there chicken tacos and normally purchase them at least once a month. Yes, we purchase them on Thursday to save a little money but along with this we purchase a fiesta box with 6 bean burritos and 6 soft tacos. My complaint is, when the chicken tacos are on special they are half the size they normally are. If you are going to put something on special it should be the same product on special as it is at regular price. Because of this we will no longer be ordering from Del Taco in the future. Don't waste your time or your money going to Del Taco on Lancaster Dr in Salem, OR. I ordered #4 combo with Carne Asada (the sign says, chicken or carne asada) Cost $8.59. I get to the window and I'm told it is $10.59. I got charged $2 extra for the carne asada tacos. I questioned it and the girl says, "that's because they are carne asada, we charge more for them". I pointed out that the sign didn't say that - it says, chicken or carne asada. She rolled her eyes and told me that's what it is, period. Fine! Got a quesadilla with almost no cheese in it, 2 chicken soft tacos with extra sauce, except one taco had literally ONE PIECE of chicken in the entire taco. Last night (Friday, August 25th, 2023) at 8:30pm, we went to the drive through at Del Taco, Salem, Oregon. As we were in the drive-through between the ordering menu and the building, rats were openly running around, in the open and in the small shrubs. They were fairly large and a couple times fought with each other. They seemed to not fear the cars in the drive-through line. At one point, I counted five rats simultaneously, which likely means there were many more. I mentioned this to the woman who was staffing the drive-up window. She said she'd had reports of visible rats before but she'd never heard there were that many. read more

I'm not going even lie - I'm here for the fish tacos. Every single time, gotta have at least one fish taco. The unique blend of salad, fried fish, and that special sauce with a kick off lime really hits the spot every time. The service is always prompt and courteous. The crispy "del taco" I like and think they put more effort into than Taco Bell for the price. I liked the beer battered fish tacos, quesadeas and nachos are all great and better In my opinion. I also love their strawberry lemonade with real fresh strawberries and strawberry shake is the bomb! I always have to grab one or the other when I'm there. Nearly twenty minutes later he took my order, nice as can be. I'm disappointed by quality and quantity. It is a dishonest portioning situation. But most fast food joints are going this way, it seems. The meal is expensive and skimpy. The order was supposed to be medium size, it was all smaller than normal order sizes, the spices on the taco meat were icky, and rather than rebalance teh beans and meat, it looks like all they did was remove the beans, and very little cheese to be fond. Really dissatisfied with Del Taco for the past year... one out of three orders are wrong. I went there today 5/24/23 at around pm. I ordered 4 tostada. chips and caso, half pound bean and cheese. They wanted to charge me over $20 and I said I wanted the lower priced tostadas. The order person talked fast and was hard to understand. So when I got my order I was given 4 quesadilla and the guy said they did not sell tostadas and never have... he was lying. Then said they had $1.69 and I asked if he would add two to my order. Said he could not because there was a car behind me. Told him he talked too fast and he told me that's just the way he talks and the whole thing was very poor customer service. I was checking my order and was asked if anything was wrong, we went through I wanted tostadas, and just said again they didn't have them. Del Taco is one of the Taco Bell franchised wannabes that is still somehow trying to make its way out east, as it is largely a west dominated chain. Unlike Taco Bell, the pricier options can initially be a turn off, but the food quality has been much better than your average Taco Bell. The 24 hour drive through is fun, its location is decent given the fact that its centrally located along the busy Lancaster Drive, roughly 2 blocks away from the rest of the fast food businesses. Its worth checking out for fast food cravings and is a solid alternative to its Mexican fast food predecessors. read more
