Ask for Aaron!! :) Nice alliteration and an enjoyable visit is sure to follow! I know Aaron, so it wasn't too difficult for him to help select a light three-course meal I loved. Yet, as I enjoyed my amazing cocktail and tapas, it was impossible to miss how Aaron interacted with all of his guests, especially the ladies right beside me. He has a genuine interest in people--where they come from, where they are going, and what they like. He listens and takes the time to help people get whatever suits their tastes no matter what time of day or night or how busy, not to mention he knows food and knows the menu enabling him to make such happen. The slightly older ladies next to me were so delighted and tickled with everything from their service, conversation, food, drinks, the inside tips on local seafood he gave, and the six bottles of hot sauce they were excited to take home as gifts after he conveyed such extra info. As for Chiringo in general, I love their menu and juice bar. After reading menu and bar item specs, it's super apparent that there is a strong base for health conscientiousness and local sourcing. My friend and I have been several times; we are teachers, but have decided to become "margarita and fish taco connoisseurs" for the summer :) we have not found better than Chiringo yet for either honestly; I absolutely believe it's the fresh veggies and juices squeezed from local fresh fruit at their juice bar in house a few steps away from the main bar. For those seeking healthy starts or non-alcoholic beverages anytime, the fresh juice concoctions are amazing. I also work at 45 Central wine bar in seaside (another great 30A locale with brunch, afternoon small plates, evening sushi, and wine anytime); I constantly recommend Chiringo to my guests and several have returned saying how much they enjoyed it. I hope you make this a stop as it's definitely a favorite for me; I only joined yelp to write this review...And again, ask for Aaron if you want to enjoy your service and your meal to the fullest; his natural charisma and good looks are just an added bonus. read more

Cool space, especially upstairs. No issues with service. We came on cinco de mayo and got a massive margarita for like 5 bucks and They did not skimp on the booze and quality! The Billy Ocean was hands down one of the best drinks I've ever had. Dream of it. 4 stars because the food menu did not impress me. Just had lunch here...BEST, FRESHEST Grouper fish sandwich I've ever had...and we've lived on the coast a long time. Be sure to ask for the awesome sauce with your fries! I don't like slaw, but theirs changed my mind. Small menu currently as they are getting started, but what is on the menu is excellent. Met the owners, great group of guys. We intended to eat at the Red Bar across the street, but went to Chiringo to wait for our table to be ready (45 mins). Chiringo could get us right in so we went there instead. The menu is limited but I was more than impressed with the food here. The burger was fantastic, the fried chicken was amazing, the ranch sauce was heavenly and the pineapple salsa was over the top. This is the best meal I've had since we got to the area for vacation. The owner sat us and also took a pic of our group and shook our hands on the way out. I will be recommending this restaurant to anyone coming to the area. (The thing that would make this 5 stars is if there were more menu options.) read more

Wish we would have checked their Facebook before deciding to have dinner here, as they were closing for a private party. Typically no big deal, but when we arrived at 7:15, we were told that the upstairs portion was closed for the private party, but we could sit downstairs. After getting settled, our server came by and said that it was actually the kitchen that was closed, so we could order drinks, but no food. We decided to hang out and grab a drink since we were already seated anyway, and before we even had time to finish our drinks they were closing up because it was actually the whole restaurant that was closed for the party. I completely understand this happens, I just would have preferred that it be clearly communicated to us from the first person we talked to. We did enjoy our drinks, and I'll be back to try the food because I have heard good things, but I wanted to pass on what I'm hoping will be constructive criticism for communication. read more

Food was good we didn't want something too heavy and this was light and healthy yet filling. We both had bowls 1 shrimp and 1 chicken both blackened. We were three tonight to each enjoy a vegan vegetable bowl and a single large order of potatoes fried in oil that is not contaminated by fish, shrimp, or any other dismembered animal body or animal bi-product or animal secretion. Congratulations to Travis Matney and his staff for taking leadership in bringing vegan food to the northwest Florida community. In a word, delicious best describes the vegetable bowl, and the fries as well. Plantains were included in the vegetable bowl and I'm certain I could eat a pound of them alone. Tera was a wonderfully sweet and efficient waitress. Just the right amount of friendliness, spunk, attentiveness and detail to you and what you may need without being overbearing. I think I came to Chiringo on an atypical day. The rain from a tropical storm probably sent more vacationers like myself into local restaurants and bars making for a choppy business flow. In all candor, I didn't have a great service experience, but I trust that if everyone else loves the place as much as they do, then my experience is the probably the one in one hundred that proves we are human. The management there does care about the quality of food and the quality of service. I look forward to giving Chiringo another shot sometime soon. read more

We were a little nervous about this place at first because it didn't seem very busy and Red Bar across the street was packed, but we were pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious - I thought i was going pretty basic with the burger, but the combination of flavors of the caramelized onions and "awesome sauce" was perfect. I was totally full and kept eating. The salsa verde and chips appetizer was the cause of being nearly full before I even started my entree, but I couldn't resist them. We sat upstairs with with windows (actually garage doors) open, so we had a nice breeze and a great view. read more

Hey, people standing in line forever at the Red Bar, turn around and look behind you! Chiringo has amazing food, too! Seriously, the avocado and lump crab toast was perfect, as was the fish quinoa bowl. However, I can't give this place 5 stars (as much as I want to) because (a) the waitress was a real downer and not at all helpful... I don't think she smiled once and (b) there are too many "MP" items. This is a pet peeve of mine. If you need to set MP based on the type of fish you get, fine. But TELL people what the charge for the day is. We wound up paying $29 for the fish grain bowl, and we had no idea until the check arrived. read more

So disappointed. The reviews were so great and we were excited to try it. None of the 5 meals or 2 appetizers we ordered was good. I don't like giving negative reviews but the fish tasted fishy and the other dishes were flavorless. My impression is that the high ratings are because it is a popular night spot for a drink. Gulf view, open air dining returns to Grayton Beach after a roughly eight year hiatus in the space previously occupied by Shorty's (and before that D&K's, who made the ill advised decision to enclose the upstairs and go upscale...disaster). This place isn't a TexMex entry, so if you are thinking chips and salsa forget it. There are two appetizers, raw oysters and a variation of ceviche called esceviche. We had the latter. This was a ceviche mixed with some other ingredients with a finished consistency similar to tuna salad. It was served with flatbread crackers and pickled vegetables. It was pretty good, although I would have preferred a more traditional ceviche. There are only a few entrees, limited to fried shrimp, rice bowls and sandwiches. The bowl comes with a choice of meat, the sandwiches limited to a hamburger or grouper. My wife had pork bowl, and she enjoyed it. I had grilled grouper sandwich. The fish was a big slab of perfectly grilled grouper on nice toasted bread. This came dressed with tomato and lettuce and came with a forgettable thin coleslaw and very good thin cut french fries. Somebody at the table got the fried shrimp and was crazy about it. They apparently bread the shrimp in rice flour and lightly at that. Overall, all the food was above average. As far as drinks go, I had a draft beer followed by a few can beers. Lagniappe with the can beer, it comes with a coozie you can keep. They have margaritas, mojitos and other similar offerings with full bar service. The only drawback to the drink service was a maddening delay between ordering and getting drinks (the bar is downstairs and we were in dining room upstairs). Wait staff was attentive and did a great job. Now make no mistake, the place is not cheap. But you are paying for the view in addition to everything else. I would give this place more stars if they offered a few more items (which may be impossible given an efficiency apartment sized kitchen) and work out some service kinks, but it was certainly enjoyable. Check it out, they have only been open a short time and will get better in time. Of note too, in tourist season, parking here is a nightmare, but they have a valet, which makes things much easier for patrons. read more

I was so excited to try this place based on the reviews that I had read online. I left disappointed. I hate spending money on food that isn't worth it. I think the grain bowls were pretty good aside from the massive veggies that could be chopped up. My husband got he Mac and cheese as a side...I have never tasted a more disgusting Mac and cheese. We each took one bite and didn't touch it again. It had no flavor...the sauce tasted like watered down cheese. We will not be back. read more

Came here tonight for the first time with some friends, as locals we have not had this great of a dining experience in a long time. The service, food, and drinks were all fantastic. We got the grouper bowl and the burger and it was all incredible. The owners came and spoke to us and were genuinely glad we were giving them business, that's so nice to see. We passed by this place on our way to The Red Bar and decided to give it a shot. Cool establishment. Our server was really nice, as was the boy bussing tables/running food. My two complaints/warnings are: (1) I ordered the Market Fish Frituras appetizer because it came with a side of tomato-cucumber salsa, which sounded refreshing. My side had neither tomatoes nor cucumbers. Instead it was corn, onions, and chopped up red bell peppers....not even close to what I was expecting (especially when I don't like corn and onions ). (2) We watched a server turn away two groups at 9:50pm, after they already made their way upstairs and found a table, because "the kitchen closes at 10." This same girl shut all of the windows and shut AND LOCKED the only door leading out while we were still finishing our drinks. We could only assume this was her passive aggressive way of telling us to leave. We got the point so we sucked down our drinks and left. Instead of walking downstairs to have our last drink, we went across the street to our original destination, The Red Bar. Long story short: Fun atmosphere, just don't go there towards the end of the night...which is anytime past 9pm. read more
