You have to give credit to a restaurant that opens during a pandemic. I have been to Chispa's on several occasions. The food is good and fresh. When you have to work on Sunday, you need to bring some joy to it so today it was the Chispa's House Salad with grilled chicken. It was absolutely delicious. And, honestly, looking at it made me want to eat it that much more. The colors were vibrant with a high degree of vegetable crunch. The citrus herb vinaigrette was the perfect pairing to the vegetables and chicken. My only criticism is when you pay for the meal through the drive-through you need to sign for it. I suspect this is to get a tip but every time I hold the case the check comes in and use their pen, I wonder who else has touched these things. COVID-19 has me second-guessing everything. That being said, it doesn't keep me from going as the food is good and the service is great! read more

I recently tried Chispas for the first time. I was happy to try a healthier Mexican food option that has a drive-thru! Awesome! The service I received at the drive-thru was sensational. I'm not sure if it was the restaurant owner, but she was very personable and seemed to love her job. My boyfriend and I both ordered shrimp burritos. I like how you were able to customize the burritos, much like Chipotle (but better tasting). The burritos were a good size. I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to spices, so the salsa was a bit too spicy for me. I will definitely stop by Chispas again when I am in the neighborhood. read more

Overpriced and not worth the money. I ordered two tacos, a burrito with chicken and then wanted to make it a combo with a drink. I asked the cashier for the large $1.50 drink. She ran down a few drink choices that included lemonade, which I chose. She never said there was any additional charge for lemonade. When I looked at my receipt I saw she had charged me an additional $4.00 for lemonade. Also, the burrito had very little chicken and was not worth the $10.00 charge. I like to support local as much as possible but when a restaurant pulls one over on a customer and tries to make a few extra bucks, they are going to lose so much more in the form of bad reviews and losing customers. The food is very good, probably the best is the area for fast service Mexican although it is on the pricier side... I frequently order burritos from here (2-3x week) and my biggest gripe is that they are incapable of accurately adhering to orders. I wish that this was a one-off issue, but I'd say more than 50% of the time they miss ingredients, add unwanted ingredients, or give you the wrong items completely. Ownership needs to start paying attention to the miscommunications between the cashiers and the kitchen before they lose repeat customers because of service mismanagement. read more

This place deserves its five stars! Don't let the drive thru look if it deter you from coming here. It did once to me and today I followed through and tried it and it was EXCELLENT. We got two bowls and a breakfast burrito. My bowl was shrimp and there was SO much good well seasoned shrimp in it. The bowls weighed like two pounds each it felt. I don't want to leave a negative review because again, usually a good spot, but whoever you got running the drive through today needs a vibe check as they were very unpleasant, bordering on rude. Not only that, but they got my order wrong, and not like a little wrong... ALL THE WAY WRONG. Was very disappointing since I ordered something very simple and they managed to Jack it up this bad. Carne asada tacos on flour with cilantro and onion. What I got was chicken tacos on flour with cabbage and cilantro, and I am not a fan of cabbage, so couldn't eat it. Very disappointed. Yummy! Ordered from here today over the phone, but I should've just ordered though the drive though since I had to wait in the drive through line anyways to get my food. I got a veggie bowl with whole beans, rice, medium salsa, pico de Gallo, Monterrey cheese, and guacamole. The guac was the tiniest bit brown but not too bad. I loved the variety of veggies, good stuff. We also got chips and salsa on the side, some of my chips were chewy and undercooked, but most were good! Salsa was good too, perfect amount of spice! We haven't been out for a long, long time. The kids were starving from a long, long day of driving around while Mommy worked and then transferred to Daddy's car. Chispa's was there, calling all of our names. I love Tacos, Rian loves quesadillas, Kamila loves everything. Chispa's is a new local place and the business owners are very nice. The beans were good, the food was fresh and it was fast through the drive through and I fed 4 folks in $20, all receiving a main item, beans, rice and a drink. Great place. read more

Food here was decent, but not really worth the price. The Carne Asada fries were good but portion was kinda small for the $12.99 price tag or whatever they charged us. It's a good concept and the food is pretty ok, just nothing to get all excited about. I would probably go back one more time to give it another try. read more

This new shop is super cute. Owned by the same folks that own Los Olivos, Chispas serves healthy Mexican fare. The driveway is small - one way in, one way out, where I found a little drive through on the other side. The shop itself is airy and colorful. I was excited to see elote on the menu. I chose it in the cup, but you can also get it on the traditional cob. It was very different than I'm used to. The al dente corn was sitting in a whole cup of liquid. The hot sauce was on the side. But I had to drain the liquid and add my own mayo, the the hot sauce, to make it more palatable. So basically, I drained off liquid cheese in all that corn water. I also got a Sonoran dog, which was good. The bun had a really nice consistency, and the dog a good snap. My coworker decided on a bowl. She chose al pastor, which she ended up picking out. She said it was very chewy and fatty. The avocado salsa really had little taste - she ended up adding tons of hot salsa. Also, the amount of food you receive in your bowl for the price isn't great. The staff is really super nice. I would return to try other things just because they're good folks, trying to give a quality product. read more

I really wanted to give this place a 5 star because the food is sooo good! But the customer service is shitty! The handful of times I have been here, the ladies at the drive thru are rude. Don't smile, nothing. They don't look like they even want to be there. Also, they charge for extra add ons and don't even add it. I got 2 breakfast burritos and made ad ons, and it wasn't even in the burrito. Hard to stay away from this place because it is so good. But the customer service makes me want to avoid coming here. Once that's fixed, this place would get a 5 star. But because they know the food is good and people will come back for that. So I doubt the attitude adjustment will change. read more

We stopped here on our way back to our hotel and it did not disappoint! Probably the best take out Mexican food I've had in a long time. The flautas a la mexicana were delicious and the rice and refried beans were really good! Great portion of food too! We also got the carnitas burrito and it was really good, filled with rice and beans. Might have preferred shredded pork, but was still really tasty. The green cilantro garlic aioli was . We got it on the side and dipped the burrito in it. The corn elote grew on me. The longer it sat and the more i tried it I really liked it, but was more of an acquired taste. The churro donut.
