Stopped by here on New Year's Day while looking for a place to eat and were pleasantly surprised. Cute from the outside with a cozy, chill atmosphere inside--small but very welcoming. I ordered the carne asada street tacos and they genuinely hit home; super flavorful and tasted like authentic Mexican food. Sitting on the patio gave total family carne asada vibes. Staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. Definitely coming back to try more and will be recommending this spot. read more

The location of this place drew me in, the shaded patio was very inviting after walking around the area for an bit. The service is friendly and I didn't have to wait long for my tacos. I had an al pastor and carne asada street taco and i thought they were pretty good for the price. they fresh salsa was really good, i wish i would have purchased a chips and salsa basket. poor service, cold food. Two kids working the front who couldn't care less about your restaurant. Price was fair for the small tacos but the rest was priced a little high for what you get. Food tasted good but not amazing. Service was friendly and fast. Place was clean and the outdoor seating area was nice and relaxing. Most of the seating area was outdoors on nice picnic tables with most having umbrellas. Street parking - no private lot. Order at the counter then they drop off food at your table. The large tacos cost ~ double but have the same amount of meat on a 5" tortilla vs a 4". They also don't double up the tortillas or dip in any sauce so they are a little bland. No salsa bar just small prepackaged salsa cups come with your meal. With all the other authentic taco shops around that are priced about the same -- I don't think I'll be back here. read more

Americas is a treasure for me. Im sad the franchise locations have closed down because this really is a great fast Mexican spot. But the star of the show is the bean and cheese burrito. You gotta get extra cheese and let it cool for like 10-15 minutes for the maximum enjoyment. read more

I'm very disappointed with the portion sizes for what they charge. I ordered a small bean and cheese burrito and was given a mini burrito that was the size of a bar of soap for $4. These used to be $1!!! I've worked in the catering business, and I understand how prices can go up, but this was ridiculous and everything else that we purchase was outrageously priced. The food is good so I'm not going to say anything bad about the taste, it's that their prices are ridiculous for the portions. Also, we added cheese on street tacos and they charge you $1.50 for a sprinkle of cheese on each taco! Its just kept adding up. Be aware! read more

Service was quick, ordered Al Pastor Americano Burrito in the regular size. Best part of my burrito was the flavor of the Al Pastor. I couldn't really taste anything else in the burrito, and it was pretty skimpy. My tortilla felt raw/not cooked. Pretty much got equal bites lettuce and Al pastor, not much else. Pretty lack luster with the amount of beans and rice and my burrito, so little I can't recall if there was any in there. A cute home turned restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered the Americano burrito without onions and pico de Gallo. I barely had time to put away my wallet when my name was called. That was super quick! There are 2 size burritos; regular and XL. We did take out. Found a good parking spot and carried our food over to the Scottsdale canal area. The burrito was delicious with tomatillo sauce. It had chunks of chicken, guacamole, rice, & beans in it on a 12" tortilla. I will definitely have to remember this place. We have been here twice and I really like this place! My partner tells me this place is an old establishment and has been around since 1999! We biked here from Tempe with our doggie in tow and always nice to rest after biking for awhile. They have a nice outdoor area to enjoy your food, park your bikes and a place for the pup to get out of the commuter bag and rest. My partner is obsessed with chorizo breakfast burritos and the great thing about this place is that it serves up breakfast burritos all day! I'm not much a Mexican food person, but do always enjoy their chips and salsa which comes with one free refill. Their horchata is excellent (albeit sweet for me) and they offer a free refill on their drinks! Overall, we love coming here, soaking up the sun a bit on their patio while eating some really yummy and affordable food! Give this place a try! read more

Popped in here the other day for a quick lunch with my mama! To start, I ordered their cuatro chips/dip situation and while I thought it was a bit pricey, when it arrived, holy guacamole they were huge portions! I loved the guacamole, salsas (spicy was my fav), and bean dip. SO YUM! This is a must if you go with a group. For tacos, I love their al pastor! The meat is so flavorful. While they are $2, they're VERY small so I would prepare to get 3-4 if you're hungry! Their carne asada was also good. They come pretty basic, just meat and onions so I would suggest getting the dips to spice them up a bit! All in all, I love this cozy little taco house in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. After Speedy Street Tacos became Mesquite and, quite frankly--- awful, I decided to try an old favorite with Americas Tacos. Used to go to the PHX and ASU locations so stopped into the Scottsdale shop. Lettuce? If I wanted lettuce on a taco I'd likely go to Taco Bell. Where's the cabbage? Portion sizes for the tacos were okay, but without the lime and generous salsa--- bland. Server was nice and provided extra salsa, and an unsolicited cup for ice and my drink.
