I cannot recommend Choco Bakery & Cafe enough! I first tried their chocolate birthday cake from a previous party, and it was so incredibly rich and decadent that I knew I had to come back for more. When I returned, they were actually sold out of that specific cake (clearly a fan favorite!), so I decided to try to buy my son a graduation cake, and a nice gentleman recommended their mixed ganache chocolate topping cake. It featured beautiful white and chocolate layers with a light, airy mousse that was absolutely delicious. My son also tried their strawberry cheesecake, and he said it was "Bombay all day"--he absolutely loved it! Whether you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself, you need to stop by. I stopped by this morning and got a cream Napoleon, it was super fresh and absolutely delicious. Honestly, everything in the case looked amazing; I wish I could buy the whole store. They have plentiful of choices between pastries, breads, cakes, & a sizeable drinks menu. You might have a hard time deciding what to get on a first time visit because of the numerous choices. Parking here is never a problem, there's parking everywhere (literally) and best part is that it's free. Staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable. I had a variety of questions as I was curious about many of the pastries and the staff was very professional about it, very patient & friendly. I ended up ordering a block of the Tiramisu cake to try, ($5) along with a slice of the pistachio & Ricotta Cake ($5) for my wife and I to share. Both are great choices and among the popular recommendations by customers and staff. For a bakery, this might be one of the best tiramisu I've ever had. Lemon Bar - my wife loves lemon bars and this was at the top of the ones she's had Cream Puffs - they are filled with cream and we had a plain and and chocolate covered puff. Didn't try it but got raves from the family Napoleon - they have cream, custard and a third. We got the cream and custard. The cream was light and custard wasn't too heavy. They both had great flavor. Only negative was that they were a tad soggy. Not much of a crunch. Wife is from New York so we also stop by delis and get napoleons. The main difference is the crunch. Came here shortly after it opened on Sunday morning around 11 am. Bought the only 6" tres leches cake that was in the display case. There were an array of other cakes, cookies and drinks. The cake looked fresh and was confirmed to be freshly made. It was boxed nicely with a plastic happy birthday sign and a cake cutter. Candles can be purchased at the store. The cake was $30.. okay priced. The other 6" version of cakes are only $25 and red velvet needs to be ordered in advance. Great service as I was greeted upon arrival. We were very excited to visit this bakery for the first time because of their Instagram reviews and very happy that they had Dubai Chocolate. We were very saddened by the flavor and quality of the Dubai chocolate. We would rate it a 2/10. The cost was $15 and the size was much smaller than a table spoon. The flavor was nothing compared to a real Dubai chocolate bar. We didn't mind paying the price for it until we felt the flavor and quality did not add up to the cost. I've been to Choco Bakery & Cafe twice now. The first time, we tried the cream éclair, dulce de leche Napoleon, and vanilla roll. My 3-year-old loved the éclair and finished it in minutes, which says a lot since he's picky. I tried it too--it had a light, crispy shell, creamy filling, and a smooth chocolate glaze. The flavor was sweet but not overly sugary. At $5 each, it wasn't cheap, but it was a good size. The dulce de leche Napoleon, though, was a bit soggy because there was too much cream, but it wasn't bad. The vanilla roll wasn't anything special, but at $3 for a big slice, it seemed like good value. Overall, we liked the place because my kid enjoyed the éclair, which isn't easy to achieve. We went back recently to get another éclair for my kid since he liked it so much the first time. But this time, I noticed that some of the pastries in the display didn't look fresh. The chocolate rolls looked half smashed, some Napoleons looked stale and stuck together, and the rest just didn't look appealing. I only bought a cream éclair and left. At home, I gave it to my son, but he struggled to eat it, which was odd. I thought he was just being fussy, but when I tried it, I realized why--it was stale. The shell was hard and dry, and the chocolate topping tasted slightly bitter. It felt like it had been sitting there for too long. I was upset because this was so different from the éclair we had last time. One small thing I noticed was inconsistency with the tax. On my first visit, I wasn't charged tax for three items, but on the second visit, I was taxed for just one of the same items I bought last time. The receipt didn't clearly show what I bought; it just said "Assortment Pastries," no indication if there was tax or not. It's not a big deal, but I find that kind of inconsistency annoying. Overall, the freshness issue was the biggest problem. I don't think I'll go back because stale pastries are a dealbreaker for me. It's a shame because the first experience was promising. read more

Love the pastries. Our favorite are the eclairsn chocolate crossaints and the Dulce de Leche Neopolian. We decided to try a cake for a special occasion. What a huge let down! It was a beautiful cake. We chose the white cake with strawberries. The icing was delicious. The cake not so much. It had a rough crumb and was dry in texture. There was some sort of liquid, (which they did not tell me about when I asked what was in the cake) in one of the crumbs layers and that surely did not lend any help to the cake. Strawberries were scarce in the filling. For $40 I expect an amazing soft delicious cake. We will keep visiting for the pastries, just not the cakes. read more

After dining on noodles next door, my girlfriend and I were looking for a sweet treat. Plenty of options here and since this was our first time, we bought several items to sample and finish later during the week. I selected the mini cannoli and chocolate cheese cake. My girlfriend went with a napoleon, key lime pie and carrot cake. My girlfriend enjoyed the napoleon, saying it was very light. She sampled the other two, liked them, but will save them for later. My cannoli was perfect. The fried pastry was crisp, filling was the right sweetness and creaminess for me and loved the dipped chocolate ends. I sampled the chocolate cheesecake and found it wonderfully dense and will enjoy it later when I've burned more calories to allow for this decadence. The place is relatively small, but service is quick and friendly. My girlfriend ordered coffee and it was brought to us outside where we were sampling our desserts. Great quality and selection. So glad I saw this on the way out from Target. Plenty of parking in this very big complex and it's right at the corner so it's very easy to find!! Pretty friendly service almost moving along the lines like Porto bakery. It didn't get too busy yet, but it will be interesting to see how the lines will be managed when it does get busy. It is pretty tight space in there so I do anticipate lines going out the door. Apparently, there are other locations and there are many choices of different types of pastries and coffee. I tried the Napoleon cream (there is napoleon custard too), vanilla cake and chocolate croissant. I have to say the cream is really light and not too sweet. The Napoleon is as flaky as it gets. It is not too dry, but definitely your lip gloss is going to have crumbs stuck all over. Pricewise is really reasonable for $3-4 dollars per item. We'll be back to try the coffee another day. They also have a lot of box treats for grab and go like sour punch, Starburst, macarons. read more

I got to stop by for the grand opening a little after 4:30pm. From the moment you step foot into the bakery, you're greeted by the workers who were excited to meet new and curious patrons. Since there were so many pastries to look at, it took me a while to decide what I wanted. They were all patient with the groups that came after me and happily answered questions we had. The man who was helping me was kind and provided warm hospitality. I told him about how I knew of the grand opening and turns out we're neighbors! What were the odds haha. I ordered the berry tart, creme brûlée, pistachio rum ball, and tiramisu. All were reasonably priced and were not too sweet. I also ordered the pistachio latte since I love Qamaria's pistachio latte and while it's slightly different from it, it's still really tasty. We are not from the area but we noticed this bakery and cafe through all the traffic and chaos. I wasn't quite sure what to get so I asked the barista for her recommendation. Since I like, lightly sweet, she said I should try the Pistachio Latte hot. Now if I'm going to ask for a recommendation I need to follow up with an "I'll take one!" So I did and let me tell you, it's the best latte I have had all year long!!! So glad we decided to try this place out. The bakery items were nothing short of a piece of heaven. I have visited this place twice and both times we've been satisfied with the service and the quality. The napoleon is my favorite - it's light, airy, and just the right amount of sweetness. The pistachio latte is superb. I can appreciate a coffee shop where I can taste the espresso, not watered down coffee. It is small, but the lines move pretty fast. I've ordered inside and walked out because it was too crowded and the young lady brought out my coffee - which was nice. The service is good, no complaints. I haven't received any stale pastries and I bought 4-6 per visit both times I've visited. My family loves to frequent 85, so this is a nice option on this side of town.
