The menu has a number of sweets like crepes and bubble waffles, where you can pick the drizzles and toppings like icecream or chocolate sauce. We got the waffle stick because honestly my friend was already too full but we just wanted to feel something inside. The waffle stick was so good, like a biscoff topping with a lotus drizzle. It was so warm and just right! The dude Husam working was such a sweet guy and walked us through the menu, and was super patient. He also gave us a topping on the house! This is definitely a place where you can come and have a coffee or tea - they seemed to have a number of unique ones. There's a bunch of seating in the back, brightly lit. I'll definitely be back to try more!

I first discovered Beignet Cafe on my usual walk through the Union Sq farmers market, with my first experience being when they operated off of a folding table-deep fryer setup (it's true, and I have attached the photos to prove it!) The beignets were fresh, and I was so intrigued finding somewhere that sold these deep fried pillowy treats outside of New Orleans. Two years later, Beignet Cafe is doing better than ever, AND with an upgraded cart that definitely catches the eye. While most people visit a restaurant/food truck/stand for the actual quality of the food, I truly think the biggest selling point behind Beignet Cafe has to be the customer service. The owner, Dave, has positivity radiating off of him & chats with each customer as if they're his lifelong friend. Just by standing at his cart for a few minutes I've seen him greet returning customers by name, new customers with a smile, and even furry friends with kindness. When grabbing a snack here, you're not only receiving amazing coffee with chicory & the most delicious, pillow-y beignets in NYC, but you're receiving joy and happiness that will get you through your day. My favorite is to stop by in the morning before work to beat the crowds, chit chat with Dave a bit & use that sugary goodness to kick start my day. It's a decent size with every drink or snack you could find in a deli. They also make fresh juices (love the Joey) and have a salad bar. The staff are super friendly and I usually see the same faces every morning/afternoon I go.
