Great place for a choco-holic! Discovered this little gem in a visit. They have such a great selection of hot chocolatier flavors. However, I opted for the sipping chocolate flight per the advice of the cashier. The staff was extremely helpful with making the selection of which sipping chocolate to try. They have a pretty wide selection so it can be intimidating. Good thing the staff are so nice about it! Now I'm a big fan of sipping chocolate and look for it every where I go. The store itself has a cool pay it forward wall. In addition at the time we went they had a giving tree there where you can drop off presents for children. They also have a calendar of activities that looks pretty interesting too. The store all in all is a great place to hang and play games. Or also to come and get involved in some community activities. I really liked how the girls working were still really welcoming even though it was 30mins until they closed. What a great addition to Lexington!! I can't believe how many cool things we have popping up in town. This place is in a small strip on Old Vine, not the easiest to find. There is parking out front, street, and actually a few spots around the back, which is great when the area is crowded! They have a fantastic selection of cold and warm chocolate drinks! I originally wasn't going to get one, because I thought a chocolate drink + treat would be too overwhelming, but the wonderfully helpful staff made me up a small sample to prove me otherwise. I can't remember it's official name, but I ended up with a lavender and white chocolate hot chocolate. It was so light and smooth, with light floral tones. I couldn't believe how much I loved it - I ended up ordering one!! I also got myself the chocolate mousse dome, which comes from a local lexington shop (which I can't remember the name of). It was quite good, but I do wish they'd had a slightly larger food/desserts selection. The drinks options were numerous, but food was a bit limited. All in all, great addition to the Lex food scene. Talk about enchanting. This place is great and will send your taste buds into a tizzy! Located by the Weekly Juicery off Vine Street. We came after a date night down the street for dessert. Most may not crave hot chocolate in the summer time but this place is so much more than that.I opted for a flight of sipping chocolate. Dark chocolate has never been able to satisfy my sweet tooth but I gave it a try with the Askinosie (Tanzania 72% dark) and Dick Taylor (Brazil 75% Dark) and the Chuao (Spicy Maya). Hands down, the Chuao was my favorite. Perfect blend of spice and chocolate. Who knew that chocolate and coffee go so well together? Technically, this place specializes in hot chocolate, but adding a shot of espresso to your Chuao (#6) really balances out the sweetness and the bitterness. If you are not a fan of espresso, Chuao is fantastic alone as well. It has a deep flavor and not overly sweet. I can sip on it all day. The interior of the shop is on the small side, but very nicely decorated. The baristas are also super friendly and helpful. If you are dazzled by the menu, they will surely guide you. If you haven't been before, I highly recommend you give it a try. read more

Love the concept of having a chocolate bar here in Lexington, and the guys of Cup of Commonwealth did a pretty great job with it. Walking in you are greeted by a pretty modern decor in terms of coffee shops. Yet the communal seating gives it a homey feel. I love that they brought along the pay it forward wall that has made cup of commonwealth famous. The menu is split into coffee/lattes and hot chocolate drinks. You can also enjoy a flight of three for only $8 which we thought was really cool. I ended up getting a hot chocolate called the sleeping bear which was made with brownie batter and cinnamon. It was definitely very rich but I couldn't really taste the cinnamon. My friends got the honey bear which was described to us as a liquid teddy graham. Perfect description. It was as if they took a box of teddy graham and melted it down with chocolate. Very rarely do I truly fall in love with a drink at first sip, but it happened with this one. The only thing I wished for was marshmallows so I could relive my childhood smores addiction. I also ended up getting a chocolate cookie with the barista recommendation and it was amazing. Very chocolaty and chewy, everything I wanted it to be. Aside from the drinks and treats there's a wall of products that you can purchase as well. Everything from shirts to beans to more chocolate. This is a super cool concept and space. What was wonderful was that the staff is so friendly, genuine, and warm. They are very patient in explaining the different types of sipping chocolate and often offer samples. I had the Teddy Graham hot chocolate and Cookie butter hot chocolate. The Teddy Graham hot chocolate absolutely tasted like a liquid graham cracker and it was delicious. I felt the cookie butter had too much flavoring in it, tasted a bit vanilla-y? Did not taste like cookie butter, though still pleasant enough. I also had a chocolate drizzled cookie, which though yummy, was a bit expensive for not being very large ($1.25, circumference of the mason jar decorations). So take small bites to savor. The hot chocolates are also topped with a copious amount of whipped cream which is great. The place is not very large, though there are plugs so you can work on your computer and drink chocolate. They have a ton of chocolate candies for sale as well as the pay it forward drink wall that Cup of Commonwealth has. They don't have a ton of desserts, two kinds of cookies, chocolate scones, and some truffles. Definitely an enjoyable and delicious place to be with great people. A few minute wait anticipating what I'm sure are meticulously prepared Sipping Chocolates, although my palate is not all that discriminating once I've made the decision to imbibe in "optional calories". I visited for the first time today and had their "Del Sol" hot chocolate, a deliciously spicy, dark chocolate drink, and my friend got "The Elvis" mocha, a peanut butter + banana flavored hot chocolate with espresso. Both were totally awesome. I'm planning to come back and try each and every option for hot chocolates, mochas, and especially the "sipping chocolates." This place had a small counter top case that is very similar to what you see at a gas station with a few desserts in them. The desserts we did get were not good. Come on guys. I Highly recommend the Dandelion chocolate sipper or the spicy maya. The White Chocolate Blossom will leave your lavender fetish satisfied and the white chocolate raspberry scone won't leave you disappointed (ask for it heated up!!).
