The iconic shop opened in 1939 and all the candy is homemade. I'm not sure if "homemade" means they make everything in store, but you can watch them make some of the candies when you visit the store. Besides candy, they also sell locally made jams and other gift products. Anyhow, who can resist fresh licorice. Not me. I would have had some chocolate, too, but the lines were too long. If you like taffy, they have a huge assortment of taffy that is made onsite. You can also watch them making taffy, which is pretty neat. The workers are friendly and helpful. If you happen to be there while they are making taffy, they will interact with you and explain what they are doing.
