I'm only in town a couple times a year and I don't always make it to the downtown area. During our most recent visit, we stayed at an Airbnb nearby and I finally got to visit Shift (YAY!)... What a great local coffee shop! The inside is cute & minimal and I loved the mural spanning the space. The staff was super friendly as we perused the menu, and my decision was easy once I saw that they have a seasonal fall menu featuring house made syrups. The carrot cake one immediately caught my eye, and I ordered a carrot cake latte. My husband got the classic pumpkin spice and yep, it was like drinking fall in a cup. It's so cool to see a gem like this reppin' the hometown. Also cool that they brew Bandit Coffee (out of St. Pete) which we are big fans of. Meyers, a request for Matcha was made and sure enough we spent the early morning yelping for Matcha and found this place. It looks fairly new and is part of an apartment t complex. The place is small, and sure enough the clientele fitted the Matcha seekers that have popped up in all urban areas. There were Lululemon' on display, women with tiny dogs, bodies that should all be on the cover of magazines and foreign cars in the parking lot. My daughter got her Matcha which set her on a high energy mood and excited for the rest of the day, so atleast I got something out of it. I did not want to be seen anywhere near a Matcha place so had my dark glasses on, a cap and stayed close to the entrance. My daughter did order me a chocolate chip cookie to make up for my misery and In all fairness it was really good. My daughter raved about her Matcha hence the 4 stars. So if you are craving Matcha, carry a small dog and fit in Lululemon clothing you have found your match!!

Really delicious and well made, I have a few "special order asks", oat milk, half sweet, etc. And the barista did well. 4/5 due to price. I paid nearly $11 for a mocha that I pay $5 at Dean's, within the Luminary downtown (which is organic coffee) and even Starbucks is $8 something. Too pricey for local coffee when there is lots of new competition out there!

I picked my own and thought it was a fun way to try several of their lattes! I believe you can get it hot or iced but definitely dine in if you get this! We loved everything we got and the menu is big enough that you could come several times and try new things. They have a back area with tons of seating too. We had been searching to good whole bean coffee since we moved here weeks earlier. Well we knew we found our coffee roaster the next morning when I ground some of the beans for our morning brew. WOW! They don't come to the table and take your order- you seat yourself and order and the kiosk and they bring your food to you. Usually takes 25-30 mins for food. Which is totally fine by me, & so worth the wait! Try the bee-itch or the bullig for savory, & the gimme s'more or the seriously waffle for sweet. For coffees, the tinder date and the Herschel are my go to!
