We opted to sit at the bar and ordered a mix of plates to share: Ceviche shooters -- refreshing and full of flavor. Hot honey chicken sandwich -- sweet, spicy, and perfectly crispy. Grouper tacos -- light, fresh, and delicious. The food was excellent across the board, but the service was truly outstanding -- warm, attentive, and welcoming

Let me start with the good: this place has ambiance. Sleek granite countertops, copper salt and…read morepepper mills, that upscale-casual waterfront vibe without the water-- Oar & Iron looks the part. But looks, my friends, will only get you so far. Before we even get to the food, let's address the strangest thing I've ever encountered at a restaurant: there is no complimentary water. None. You want water? That'll be two dollars per person--for filtered water. Not bottled Evian. Not fancy sparkling from the Alps. They're filtering tap water and charging you two bucks a head for it. I've dined at a lot of places, and I have genuinely never seen this move. We passed on principle--but imagine sitting down for a nice meal and being told basic hydration is an upcharge. Absolutely bizarre. We kicked things off with the calamari, served up on a long plate with a creamy dipping sauce. Crispy, decent flavor, no complaints on execution. But the portion? Twenty-one dollars. Twenty-one dollars for what amounts to about five bites each if you're splitting it. At that price point, I'm expecting a generous pile of golden fried goodness, not a modest arrangement that leaves you still hungry. The short rib gnocchi had promise--rich, beefy flavor in that sauce, pillowy gnocchi, fresh parsley and shaved parm on top. It wanted to be a star. But here's the thing: half the short rib pieces were more fat than meat, and the portion left us wondering if the kitchen was rationing. Good bones on this dish, but it needs more love in the execution. Now, my wife's scallop risotto. Beautiful presentation--golden seared scallops perched on creamy rice with fresh arugula. Looks like a magazine cover, right? Wrong. It arrived missing ingredients. Just... incomplete. And that's where service comes in. Speaking of which: our server was MIA for the first half of the meal. Questions unanswered, that "are we invisible?" energy. Things improved later, but first impressions matter, and ours was rough. The Verdict: Oar & Iron wants to play in the upscale dining league, but it's not earning the price of admission. No free water--and charging for filtered tap? A $21 appetizer that barely qualifies as a snack? Fatty short ribs, an incomplete dish, and a server who forgot we existed the first half of our meal? This one drops to two stars. Style over substance, and not enough of either.

When you arrive there is ample parking, and very pleasant views of their agricultural. There are 85 acres, which houses their store, small self served dining and eating area both inside, as well as outside. They have a rustic barn for special occasion events. Since we were a group of ladies, we made arrangements for service to be provided, versus self serve. In hindsight, once we completed our luncheon, we should haves opted for self served. We were told there would be an up charge for personal service, which became $7.00 per person, plus a 20% tip and tax's. This referred to as personal service was not anywhere near what was provided. First, our food orders, needed to be in days before our arrival. No appetizers were available, soup, salads etc. The room where we were assigned to was ample and pleasant. However, first we had to pay for the order we had preordered. There was ice tea, water, ice, coffee, etc. preset up. Then instead of a server delivering our entrees, a large multi-layered cart rolled in with our preordered lunches. Truly, the ambiance was immediately impaired and negligent. Our attendees, we had a mix of loving the ingredients of their orders, where others were totally disappointed. As their food was bland unfavorable and unappealing, especially at the price of $21.95 per person with a mandatory 20% gratuity. It needs to be validated that our group never has an issue with pricing of their special excursion lunch events. However, BUCKINGHAM Farms did not meet our expectations. After our lunch was served, there was no service, no one came back to ask if the food was ok, was there anything else needed. Our servers were gone. Came back to remove our plates never asked, if we were happy, how did we enjoy the food. In initially setting up the reservation, our ladies first visit to this unique venue m, were very excited. So, it was requested that after lunch, since it was an 85 acre farm, could we have a quick walking tour. Anna, the director agreed and says she would guide us around the path and explain what we were seeing in the tour. After our lunch, we were all excited. As I went to find Anna and said we are ready for the tour. Anna had a surprise look as there were others with me, act like it was the first time she heard the request! I repeated the conversation, and she said oh no. We do tours in the morning only, and there is a charge for a tour. Needless to say, what a disappointment! If your plans are to go to BUCKINGHAM Farms, our recommendation is not to go as a group. Or if you do, GO self service!

It is comfortable and casual. They have several TVs and a Chicago flag on the wall. Our server, Brianne, was great. She answered all of our questions, was friendly and efficient. We ordered a 14" Chicago Deep dish pizza (the main reason we came) with meatballs and extra cheese. It was very flavorful, the crust was soft and firm with a buttery taste. We could have used more meatballs, but I won't deduct a star for that. The pizza was topped with fresh-tasting crushed tomatoes. We also ordered a 16" thin crust pizza with Pepperoni, extra cheese and 1/2 green olives. It also was quite good. The crust was crispy, but not tough and the toppings tasted great. Baked has some good deals to know about. 50% off beer, wine and most appetizers 4-6 daily. Kids 11 and under eat free Sunday's from 11:30-6 (one adult for two children, so four free with two adults). If you want to score big, order the daily pizza special, drinks and bring your kids on a Sunday between 4-6! These deals are on right now (April 2026) so ask before you order, as they may not be forever. We will be back! In the meantime, we have enough left overs for three meals (lol).

We got there about 12ish and they were not too busy. This place was very clean and neatly laid out. Once at the counter I ordered a medium Pastrami double meat fully involved sub. Now fully involved includes Mayo, Deli Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and a Dill pickle on the side. A Small sub is 3-4 inches a Medium is 8 inches and Large is 12 inches. I love their Deli mustard on my sub, and I like my sub heated. Once I got my sub it looked good and most of the items looked fresh. My sub was very good and warm and plenty of meat and all the rest of the items filled out the rest of the sub. My wife's cold Roast Beef and Swiss combo which came with a drink and chips was very good also. You must get your own drink from the fountain and chips are on a shelf so you can pick what you want. We chose to eat inside and not take it out. They also have gluten free buns available. You pay a little more for these subs, but I believe they are worth it. Our bill was around 25 dollars for the above order. I give this place 4 stars out of 5. Like Arnold stated I'll be back. They are open 10:30-9 most days. See You At My Next Adventure...
