I was in Tempe from out of town for a quick trip/one night. The red battery indicator light went on after I arrived at my hotel. I looked up nearby auto repair places and found Choice to have very good Yelp ratings so I took a chance. Arrived before Kevin opened at 7am and waited. When he was set up for the day I told him the problem and he immediately did a diagnosis and found that the alternator was the problem. He said he could have a new one installed by 9:00/9:30 - that was music to my ears. Sure enough, Kevin called me at 9:00 am and said my vehicle was ready, as promised. I took my car in for routine oil but was expecting a rotor resurface because of some shudder in steering when braking at certain speeds. I asked Kevin to check it out. He let me know that the shudder was not a safety issue, I had about 60% of brakes left, and to wait to get rotor resurface since it's part of the new brake service. He easily could have conducted and charged me for the rotor resurface since I was expecting that as a diagnosis going in. But no, he saved me money, time and gave me my oil change for free for my loyalty and because I share my positive experiences. Has been my go-to for the last 4 years, they can handle everything at a really fair price. Super understanding for college kids too.

the ac went out in my car just a few hundred miles past warranty. called my local dealer ,they said i was out of warranty so they couldnt fix it for free. it was the ac discharge hose. so i then went and got estimates from pep boys and another place whos name escapes me and they were both over $700. i got another from my local kia dealership and they came in at $550. they told me the part itself was $130 there, which was less than the previous two who both claimed the part was over $400. the owner and a couple coworkers from my part time job referred me to choice. before i went i tried to find the part online, found it at rockauto but it was out of stock. so yesterday i went to choice, met kevin,who is just a great dude, and it turns out we knew alot of the same people,and most were customers of his. he quoted me a great price ,waaaay under any of the previous estimates, found the part at a local store, and we scheduled for this morning. the store i got the part from doesnt really do alot of retail as theyre a wholesale autoparts store, after i told him kevin had sent me, he gave me the wholesale price of $50!! literally hundreds less than previous estimates. i took it in this morning , they installed it in the time he said they would, and wound up taking a little off the initial quote! they were friggin awesome!! i one thousand percent wil be going back for anymore issues i have with my car. i found my new mechanic. which as you all know, isnt easy. my old one moved so.. i am so happy with kevin and the boys at choice! they're honest, reliable, and do great work. i will refer everyone i know to the boys at choice!! you should use them too! thanks Kevin, dan, and company! read more

"The devil's in the details." When you first walk in to the business you see that they really care down to how professional the employees are and how well the customer lounge area is presented. The lounge is immaculate with a plaque that talks about customer excellence, which is more than just some words on the wall. You walk up to the office and notice a young gentleman who is the owners son (I think) who is not too busy or beyond giving someone a ride back to their work. I was coming in to check out my vehicle to see if I am able to do a long trip and to my surprise they topped off my fluids and said I didn't need a single thing other than a fan belt. By the time I left it cost me $60.50 which would have easily cost me hundreds of dollars at any other repair shop. I would be happy to refer anyone that is looking for a repair facility that is trustworthy and that is affordable. read more

I have been taking my older 2000 Ford Ranger to Choice Auto for at least the last five years and they have kept her running great without any issues that entire time. They listen to me carefully, always call me with a diagnosis and price, and then complete the work immediately with no issues at all. I completely trust everyone in the shop and have and would highly recommend them to anyone! I recently decided to take my 2009 Jeep Wrangler to them even though I have an extended warranty because I was fed-up with the local dealers trying to do unneeded work.....and I'm so glad I did. I was recently told by a local Jeep Service department that my Jeep needed new brakes, the differentials serviced, and other costly repairs. These are very honest, professional and friendly people. We were out of country for four months and when we returned, I took my 97 Honda Civic for oil and filter change on March 6, 2019. Upon inspecting my car, Kevin and other staff persons told me that the oil and filter were just fine and no need to change at all for now. I got my car fixed here, my insurance wrote them a check for over 5000$ and there is multiple things still wrong with my car. Wherever the windshield fluid comes out from, is still broken form the car accident, my hood was painted with the cheapest of all paints that's why there's 100 chips In the paint, the hood is coming out from the side and now my car is making the horrible burning smell MIND YOU I DRIVE A TOYOTA COROLLA 2017 there is no reason why my car should be driving and looking the way it does. 5000 in repairs isn't just nothing I feel like I should of got my car returned to me as it if we're brand new. They are closed today and hope they choose to fix they're mistakes that are quite frankly unbearable. I will be calling them tomorrow and taking my car in, I pray that the other reviews I read are true and that there is some sort of decency in this repair shop, I still owe 20000 on my damn car id hope I could at least drive it and it drive right. I don't even know where to start! Kevin and the guys have been taking care of me for a few years. Always stellar service but this time they completely out did themselves. My 2006 Kia Sorento broke down in Globe, Az. I know...right?! I had the mechanic look at it and they gave me a quote of double what Kevin said it should be. I honestly don't trust anyone with my little car so I purchased AAA and waited a week to have it towed. Highly inconvenient but SOOO worth it. Turns out a crankshaft bolt got loose and was stuck in the engine. (Not even close to the diagnosis I got from Cooters Garage in Globe!) They warned me it could be toast but I had faith and so did they. Happy to say they got the bolt out through some sort of mechanical magic. Not only THAT but Kevin informed me that they had just received a letter from Kia stating that there was a class action lawsuit for that very issue and in all likelihood I would get my money back eventually. This is the first time I am writing a review anywhere. I feel like, I should do it. I have scheduled for a courtesy inspection in this shop. I was told by my friend who referred me there that it should be free, however, you can pay tips for their works. My other friend also went there for a courtesy inspection before and he was not charged but gave them tips for their service. In my case, they gave me a bill of $42.16 for the inspection, and the problems (what should be done) were enlisted in the bill. I had a plan to do some necessary repair as I just bought this car and wanted it working well. So, while discussing the problems, I just asked that I thought it would be free for the inspections. That guy, who seats in the office, gone mad and turned his back on me. He did not even explain to me what the problems are. I wouldn't know some of the problems mentioned (this is my first car), and he did not help me to figure out what problems need immediate attention or what can be done later. I did not even say that I will not pay. I felt so bad and I was stoned by his behavior. After requesting several times, he said that he already closed it. During the time I waited there, I found them behaving normally with other people. I felt bad that they behaved in such a way with me. Took my 16 yr old car to this shop for the first time yesterday. The very positive reviews are true. Went in expecting to spend several hundred dollars for a timing belt change and was told that after taking a look at the old belt I really did not need a new one at this time, that it had apparently already been changed recently. As I bought this car used just a few weeks ago I had no way of knowing that it had been changed and was delighted to know it did not need to be done yet. They did not even charge me for the work it took to get to the old belt. They located a power steering fluid leak which I had suspected and quoted me a very fair price for a repair. When I had my vehicle towed to the dealer they confirmed it was a recall on the motor and Hyundai sent a brand new motor as replacement. Took our car into a different shop to get the transmission fluid flushed because they charged a decent price. We go to pick up the car and they tell us we need all new brake pads and two new front rotors. I ask how much and the guy says $650 plus tax. I had to pick my jaw up from the ground. I was recommended to Choice Auto Repair by my dad and am so thankful I was!! Kevin was able to get us in first thing the next day. He called and informed us that only the front brake pads needed to be replaced and that he could resurface the front two rotors instead of replacing them. The grand total was $150 plus tax.
