Best Mexican food in town. Nothing fancy but the service is good and the price is right. I like the heuvos rancheros.

They do indeed have a burrito section on their menu, but all of the burritos have sauce and cheese covering them, which effectively makes them enchiladas. I came for a burrito, but I left with what was essentially a plate of enchiladas. That's fine; I make do. My Burritos Michoacan were two tortillas filled with pork carnitas, and topped with green chili sauce and cheese. Rice and beans came on the side. It was tasty, but again, it was not a burrito. (Alright! I'm done belaboring this point. No burrito, no bueno. I'm sure you get it.) But, four stars because my meal came with complimentary chips and salsa, and the chips were outta sight. I liked using my chips to scoop up the rice and beans and carnitas. My meal was also big enough for two people to share. I ate my to-go meal in my car, which honestly, is the best place to eat a meal, especially a burrito-but-not-burrito meal. I bounced into Los Vaqueros soon after they opened at 11 a.m., and I was able to order my to-go food right there and then wait only about 10 minutes to receive it. There are some seats in the lobby that you can sit at while you wait. Parking can be a little iffy here. There is no designated parking lot, but there is street parking on the side of the restaurant. I wasn't able to find parking there, so I parked across the street.

Try this place! Fabulous food, really great service. It's a once a week staple for us now!read more

Being from California our Mexican Food is elite, so I keep that in mind when comparing to other places. Keeping that in mind, I thought the space was fine and nicely decorated. The food was average, but there were some Tasty options. And most importantly, the margaritas were strong and flavorful! I love that they have a solid cocktail menu with lots of margarita flavors. I went with a classic lime margarita on the rocks and it was delicious. The glasses are large, so you get your moneys worth, and this was definitely one of the highlights of the spot. We started with some chips and salsa, which were good. Then we paid for some queso dip, which was also unique and good, nothing fancy, but hit the spot. For my main meal I ordered the street tacos and asked the waiter which protein he recommended and he said the Carnitas was good. The plate was hefty and I didn't enjoy the side of rice and beans. The carnitas were middle of the road...I wouldn't necessarily get them again, but if you're someone who doesn't have Carnitas often these were fine. I think everyone else liked their meal more than I did so thankfully with the big menu there is something for everyone here and I would get something different next time. The staff and service was also really good. The waiter was attentive, but also gave us space to catch up/talk. They were also really nice as we closed down the place and were the last table here but they never made us feel rushed/forcing us to leave. Great hospitality, average food and a stiff drink. Come check them out for yourself.

The atmosphere was inviting. The service was excellent. The menu has a wide array of options from fajitas which is what I got (because it reminds me of Chili's) to quesadillas and more. Is it like Chevy's Tex Me ? Not exactly. It may actually be better. The margaritas were also deleicious as well and the size was very generous for the price. If I was in Greeenfield, I would definitely return to this location. Parking was ample to. It did get very busy though after we arrived but service did not suffer at all so I assume they were well staffed. Flavors did not disappoint as well. They also offer bottomless chips that were tasty, salty, served warm and fresh:)

The food is cooked and brought out often times on a skillet which is literally steaming as it reaches the table, which is an experience within itself that Mexican restaurants fail to reciprocate in the modern day. When you walk in, you may have some difficulty being seating as this restaurant is typically busy, and typically understaffed. The service is amazing, however. The owner and crew are all very amazing, friendly, hard workers. They converse well, they take care of each other and set up an amazing environment together. That being said, with Los Maguelles may consider hiring a few more servers for the bustling Saturday nights, you may find yourself waiting 10 minutes or longer if you don't speak up for a simple refill let alone be seated. They make it fun, with their "Burrito Tropical" earning the name "Best Burrito On The Menu" as it truly is and the staff is sure to remind you. Los Maguelles is a great experience, great eatery, and an excellent choice for lunch, but with current staffing levels I would avoid a dinner with a large group.

I kicked off the evening with the Black Margarita--a berry-flavored twist on the classic--which, unfortunately, reminded me more of cough syrup than a cocktail. As usual, we started with choriqueso, though this version was overwhelmingly queso with just a small amount of chorizo. My husband ordered the Quesabirria Tacos and enjoyed them, while I opted for the beer-battered shrimp tacos--admittedly a bold choice for someone who usually avoids seafood unless I'm near the coast. I'll be sticking to that rule from now on, especially after dealing with some stomach discomfort later that night. While the restaurant clearly has a strong reputation and many enticing options, our first visit didn't quite live up to the hype. Prices leaned toward the higher end, and oddly, a server who wasn't even assigned to our table ended up being more attentive than our actual one. That said, the restaurant was busy, and both food and drinks arrived in a timely manner. The ambiance gives off a more upscale, modern Mexican vibe, but personally, I'll always prefer the flavors and value of a traditional Mexican spot over something that feels overpriced and underwhelming.
