Cant say enough good things about this place. My family and I have been doing takeout from here since they opened. The Mozambique and Asian zing wings are great. I've heard so much about Chomp and it truly lived up to the hype. The restaurant itself is small but they make excellent use of the space. the staff are incredibly prompt and very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The meal itself was phenomenal and the portions served were very generous and the prices were comparable to local competitors. I would HIGHLY recommend the Asiago Cheesesteak with a side of fries. As a former Bristolian I'm so glad to see Warren get the glow up It deserves, for many years this town was overlooked in the business arena. I wish Chomp and its staff continued success. Cool and Friendly Chomp is small homey eatery specializing in craft burgers. We opted to sit at the bar rather than wait for a table. The bartender informed me that they had a chicken and waffle sandwich. He also mentioned that the sandwich had country style sausage gravy. That did it, I had to try their sausage gravy. You can't refuse a chance to try sausage gravy. Was I glad that I tried this sandwich. The southern fried chicken, sausage gravy, lettuce and tomato and maple bourbon syrup combined to create a wonderful sandwich that just kept getting better with each bite. Each of the components stood alone with good taste combined it was a wonderful culinary experience. This meal did not rely on sauces or spices. Quite simply the ingredients stood on their own and complimented each other. The meal arrived hot, looked great, tasted superb, and combined plenty of texture while eating. My wife had a specialty burger and it was delicious as well. The wait staff was friendly and engaging and took time to explain ingredients if asked. i've been a fan of Chomp since day one but this new location takes it to another level. I went opening night with a party of 18 and the kitchen didn't skip a beat. All our meals were served together, hot and delicious. The. Server was great! Back tonight to try the new summer menu and it was so relaxing sitting out on the waterfront patio watching seals swim in between the docks! The Chili Crisp fried chicken sandwich is my new favorite. I had it on greens with no bun and it was perfectly cooked as were the fries I stole from my husband. My only problem was trying to decide which new drink to try! I have only been to the Water St location once but it was terrible experience. 3 people at our table ordered medium-rare burgers and got well-done + !!! wasn't even close! The size of the burgers was laughable compared to what I have gotten in the past. Beers we're overly expensive. Our server did a nice job. I have friends that expressed a similar experience i.e. Not the same. I gave them 1 extra star for the location. I really hope they can make it the Chomp it should be or I won't be back. My boyfriend and I decided to try something new. We both love burgers and saw that the ratings for this location are great. We both ordered the signature house burger without the bacon and we added cheese of our own preference. In addition we read in the reviews that the fries are over-salted- so we ordered the fries without salt in addition to Brussels sprouts. Their burgers were delicious; the bread was toasted perfectly, the burger was juicy, and the cheese was melted perfectly. The fries were good without the salt even though they tasted like they had some salt. The brussels sprouts were fried but upon eating them we realize that they were actually burnt. Now....when you fry food it shouldn't taste burnt it should taste fried.... two different things Lmaoo. The waitress didn't really give a shit when we said something. The water tasted like it came fresh out of the sink after washing dishes so I stopped drinking it. But besides all of that, the food was very very good long as you don't get Brussel sprouts and don't drink the water you'll enjoy the food! Food: The hype about their burgers and chicken is accurate. It was disappointing however, to receive smaller than expected portions of both. Their web photos show a bigger bun and burger/chicken than what you get. Service: Not expecting much; and didn't receive much. Either they are over staffed, or our server who didn't arrive to our table for 10 minutes after seating, was just new. Meh. Ambiance: Waterfront dining is not totally accurate. The parcel of land they used for the patio was disappointingly located on the side of the building next to the parking lot. Adjustment to prior review - I emailed Chomp to explain my discontent with the whole experience. They made it right and apologized for the experience explaining last night was just an off night. I am now going to base the review solely off the quality of food and the owner's response. The food was quite tasty (a melt and a house burger) and despite the issues I would consider trying them again. I had a terrible experience when ordering take out at Chomp in Warren. I was told my food would be ready at 6:01 (by email). I arrived 5 minutes early and notified them I was outside. They responded that they were "running a few minutes behind" and would bring out food shortly. At 6:15, I messaged them again and was told "sorry but it will be out in about 8 minutes". At 6:42, 40 minutes after my promised time my food arrived at my car. All that was said was "sorry for the delay". I was so frustrated and was even dumb enough to pretip due to Covid. The only reason I don't give less than 2 stars is that the food was actually quite good (although room temp). I wish they would do something to make it right. read more

Had a hankering for a "better" burger so we decided to try take out from Chomp. We've eaten in the restaurant several times (pre-COVID) so we were familiar with the menu. If this review was just about the food, it would be 5 stars. But, jumping to the bad stuff first, I can't give five stars to a restaurant at which I order more than 3 hours in advance and still have to wait nearly 40 minutes in the parking lot for delivery of the food that was supposed to be ready when I arrived. This far into the curbside pick-up process, they really should have a much better handle on this process. Now the food... we both had House Burgers and they didn't disappoint. The meat has a wonderful flavor, the burger was cooked to perfection and the assembly of the burger was just right for handling. One of us ordered the fries side and the other mac and cheese (for $3 premium). When I got home, I popped the fries into a 450 degree oven for 5 minutes or so and they were awesome. The mac and cheese was a bit grainy, right from the box and even after re-heating low and slow. We also had the Chomp Caesar which includes roasted Brussel sprouts. The salad had a strong flavor but was unique and very good. Conclusion: Be patient, the food is worth it. read more

We were having a family outing at Colt State Park. It got late and my kids wanted to grab dinner. Opened up Yelp and Yelpers recommended this restaurant. Once again the Yelpers didn't let me down. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. We got the baby field greens, wings, Fries, Mac & Cheese, Hot Chicken Sandwich, The Bandit Burger, and Mozambique Friend Chicken Sandwich. Chomp has become a huge disappointment. Don't go there for good burgers, unless your idea of that is a burger that has been stepped on then massively overcooked. They only have one burger remaining on the menu that you can have cooked to order - all the rest have become the aforementioned "smash burgers" - which in my opinion are a way to avoid actually having to cook a decent burger the right way, as you cannot order these how you like them. I have been visiting the other versions of chomp for years and in fact I own a business a block away from this one. I gave it 3 stars for the setting and the beer selection, 0 for the food. It wasn't always this way. They once had interesting and good burgers. Oh and if you want to skip the stepped-on burgers, your only choice is fried stuff. In my opinion they are trying to take the easy way out with their food. Go for the location and the beer, skip the petrified smash burgers. read more

This was my first visit to Chomp and I will definitely be back. My 5 yr old son wanted wings and after a quick Google search we were at Chomp. We sit our 2 orders of wings into 4 flavors Mozambique, Alabama White, BBQ, and teriyaki. They were fantastic, cooked perfectly and were a great size. Flavor was on point. I washed it down with a Heady Topper and got a chili crisp chicken sandwich to go. The chicken sandwich was probably the best chicken sandwich I have ever had, I would suggest ordering if you like a slight kick. Service was super friendly and they treated my son amazingly. The service was good, the food was also good, however they had a special "scallop po boy". I asked the waitress if it was bay scallops or sea scallops. I do not like bay scallops. She stated twice that they were definitely sea scallops. She was wrong they were bay and I did not eat it. I didn't complain because I was with a large group, so I sucked it up and ate the fries. A waitress needs to know what is in the recipe. If someone asks and they don't know they should find out. I would have ordered a burger had she said bay scallops. These burgers are GOOD. So good that there's a line out the door for them. Their menu is relatively simple. Burgers and sandwiches with fries or a salad and of course yummy appetizers (wings, frickles, etc.) However, the burgers are substantial enough to not even need an appetizer. Their beer menu is extensive and cheap and they also have wine and cocktails. You can go simple and opt for their house burger or go crazy and get something more fun. I have not tried their stacked burgers and I do not really know how I could physically consume that (if your mouth can't fit, how do you eat that thing?!?!?) You can even make any substitutions you want and just go for a burger with cheese if you're a burger purist. I often am but it's hard when there are so many yummy choices. The patties are fresh and juicy and everything is made in-house. So that is awesome! As a bonus, the fries are excellent. They compliment every burger and they give you a heaping portion which is awesome. Cheap beer and well-priced burgers for what you get (large portions, fresh ingredients, unique offerings). Their "Chomp" sauce is so good. I could eat it by the spoonful. It's great on the burgers but even better when you dip your fries in it! They should bottle and sell that! Service is awesome as well. Of course it's slower for food to come out when it's busy but your drink will always be full and that's all that matters! Plus, everything is made fresh so you cannot complain about waiting for that juicy burger. Order a beer and relax--it's worth the wait! I took off a star because they open at 4:30 and there is a line outside the door at that time. A bit crazy! I only come on weekends, though. People clearly love this place. Opening for lunchtime and remaining open through the night would give them even more business. I also knocked that star off because both my husband and I hated the homemade ketchup. I was excited to try their St. Paddy's day burger special. Once I got there (on St. Patrick's Day), an hour after they opened, they said they were sold out of that burger. What a disappointment. If you are running a special for a holiday weekend, please make sure you have enough to last the full weekend. If not, get more the day of. It's all about prep work. They were under prepared and left me feeling completely disappointed - super let down! Since I was already there and hungry, I decided to try another burger. I ordered the cheeeeeseburger. I finally checked out Chomp last week for the first time and had a very nice experience! When I got there, I was told there would be a 30 min wait for a table but we were seated in less than 10, which was nice. The space itself is cozy with a nice outdoor patio with string lights, perfect for summer. The cocktail list was really fun, all of the drinks were named after TV moms. I ended up going with the Peggy Bundy, which had mezcal and pamplemousse. We shared the pickled vegetable sampler, which came with pickled cucumbers, carrots, radishes, brussel sprouts, and onions. Simple but yummy. I feel though that I probably didn't get the full Chomp experience because I went with a salad (as opposed to a burger or sandwich which is really what they specialize in). The salad had quinoa, marinated asparagus, cherry tomatoes, spinach, and a garlic lemon basil dressing. The menu listed roasted corn as an ingredient in the salad (in fact the salad was called the Roasted Corn and Asparagus Salad) but corn was not to be found. Maybe they ran out? It was a yummy salad but I was missing the corn. I ordered my salad with fried chicken on top. The chicken was outstanding, juicy and crispy. It definitely made me want to come back and try out the fried chicken sandwich next time. All in all, a great experience. I want to come back soon and try one of their sandwiches. read more

I had been eagerly awaiting Chomp's opening since seeing their construction signs go up months ago. Just tried it for the first time this past Friday with my boyfriend and we were very pleased with our experience! We ordered takeout, although when we went to pick-up we did see outdoor dining was available with about 12-14 2-person tables (which were all filled). For food, we went with their house classics: Chomp hot chicken and House burger with. The food was ready after about a half hour, and we only had to wait a few minutes once we arrived for pick-up. When we got home the food was just warm enough. For the burger: on our online order we were not able to specify how we wanted it cooked, but it came as a perfect medium. The patty was a good sized portion, about a half inch thick, and adorned with gouda, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and Chomp's special sauce. It was delicious! The bacon was cooked perfectly and the sauce added an extra boost of flavor without overwhelming the burger. My only complaint was that the cheese was not melted at all on the burger and was a little cold, I'm thinking perhaps because our burger was assembled when we arrived to pick up the order. But overall, cooked well, moist, with great flavors. The chicken sandwich was even better: a thick breast (about an inch) of white meat chicken that was perfectly battered and fried. The chicken itself was seasoned too, which I appreciated. Compared to the burger, the toppings are lighter, which let the chicken really take center stage. The hot sauce is something! Very spicy so you only need a little, but a very nice smokey flavor. Our fries were pretty good - a little softer and less salty than my preference, but solid fries nonetheless. Overall, would definitely try again for onsite dining to really get the experience of their hot, fresh off the grill sandwiches. read more

The place along with parking lot are very small - wondering where you'd park if there weren't any spots open. He was super friendly, very knowledgeable and did a great job juggling everything. We started off with the pork belly baos and frickles. Oh Em Gee! If i could lick the plates clean, I would've. I wasn't too excited about ordering the baos but my bf wanted to try it and I'm so glad he did. Nice thick pieces of juicy pork belly and the sauce, oh the sauce....sweet heavenly sauce that doused the buns was amazing. I'm not a kimchi fan but it worked so well together. The frickles were the best frickles I've ever had - nice and crispy with a delicious ranch/dill sauce (I saved it to dip my fries in). I got the duck reuben and my bf order the smokey bandit burger. They certainly do not skimp on the ingredients! My reuben was overly filled with house cured duck and topped off with a crunchy saurerkraut. Fries were nicely fried, piping hot and crispy. My bf really enjoyed his burger as well. All their sauces are made in house, including the ranch, bbq, smokey aioli and ketchup amongst others, I'm sure. The only one I didn't care for was the ketchup. The drinks are a bit on the pricier side but the food def makes up for it. Can't wait to come back and eat everything else! read more

To start with our server Nikki was great. She was knowledgeable and gave us a variety of suggestions and info on the menu. Although the place was busy she was attentive of our group the whole night. They have a great beer and drinks menu and where we're all happy with what we ordered (other than my buddy who always orders a drink he doesn't like, but that's on him). There are a number of food options and the burgers are not you standard burgers. Two of my buddies got the Fried Avocado burgers and one got the Mac & Cheese Burger. All were raved about. I got The Stack, a monster that is three burgers combined. There were two burger patties and one fried chicken breast. There was no way I could fit the thing in my mouth so I had to eat it with a fork, a first for me. The meat in the burgers was tasty and all of the accompaniments were good, but the star of the meal was the chicken. The breast was fried and dipped in a Mozambique sauce. This was the best piece of Fried Chicken sandwich I have ever had. The sauce was awesome and the chicken was cooked great. Although the sauce isn't on the menu, I was told that you can request it.
