The burger with cheddar cheese instead of the American that was paid for

I have ordered the same burger from this restaurant several times, always with American cheese, and it used to be consistently very good. However, during my last few online orders, I specifically requested--and paid for--American cheese, only to receive cheddar each time. While it may seem like a small detail, when the burger is nearly $20, I expect to receive exactly what I paid for. After the issue repeated itself, my husband contacted the restaurant. Instead of offering a simple apology, the staff member explained that their online vendor had not yet updated the website to reflect the new American cheese option and said he would reach out to have it corrected. Unfortunately, that does not resolve the fact that customers are being charged for an option that isn't being honored. For clarity, I ordered directly through their website, not a third-party service. I've enjoyed their food in the past, but repeated mistakes and lack of accountability have made the experience frustrating. I hope they take the necessary steps to update their system and ensure accuracy moving forward.

The atmosphere is cozy. The food was very good, loved the batter on the fish, our waiter was very accommodating and friendly.

We came for lunch in lieu of our original choice which was the Aviary. We wanted to try something new and we were dressed pretty casual, so we came here. The place was beautiful inside, great pub atmosphere. The bartender, whose name I can't remember was so friendly, polite, and very helpful with the menu. He made some suggestions, not pictured, teriyaki tenders, which were incredible. We loved our entrees and the truffle fries were the perfect upgrade for both of us. We ate almost all of the food and had to take half of the burger home and some fries. The bartender was so kind to give us a bag of ice for our cooler so that our food didn't go bad while we were doing our errands. We will be back and let our friends know how great it was!

The Rookery Pub is a truly great place. Just arriving here you can see how charming & welcoming it is. I was worried about getting a table during peak Friday hours especially since the place it quite small but we were able to be seated without issue. They had a good selection of wine, cocktails, mass & craft beers to choose from. The menu was on the simple end but it was honestly hard to choose from since it all sounded so good. The California turkey was excellent. Massive portion & easily big enough to bring some home or to share it. The beef & bleu flat bread was less good but still quite delicious ( I am not really a fan of bleu cheese). I am already looking forward to going back.

I also loved that it had a giant ice cube with "SA" melted onto it. My friend ordered their old fashioned and it was probably the best one I ever had - it wasn't overly bitter, but instead had a sweet citrus finish. The staff is really kind and attentive. I was expecting it to be a dive (I do love a good dive bar!), but Stingy Alley is beautiful and classy, with an amazing cocktail menu and small bites as well. I loved the dark wood decor, the low lighting throughout the establishment, and the accent lights at the bar are so pretty. There are many different types of seating - bar, high top tables, benches, regular tables, and a cute and comfy corner booth with throw pillows, which is where we opted to sit. Service was excellent. I was expecting to have to order at the bar, but Stingy Alley has table service. My husband ordered the espresso martini and I went with the Dubai chocolate martini. Both were outstanding - I could easily have tried a few more of the dessert cocktails, but alas we had a 40 minute drive home so that will have to wait for another visit. Will definitely come back to Stingy Alley - thanks for a lovely end to our night!

The service is always friendly. This time, they had a new special that made me post this review. It was seared scallops, served over a smoky corn puree with BACON and heirloom tomatoes. I have had many dishes at the common pub, but this one was my favorite. The scallops were large, tender, and beautifully seared. The corn puree was not overly smoky but full of flavor, and the bacon added the flavor only bacon can. Best of all, this huge dish was $26. That is expensive for the Common Pub, but this dish would have been much more expensive anywhere else. If you haven't tried it yet, you are truly missing out.

The menu said the burger is 11.99 and comes with cheese, but it was rung up as 13.99 plus 50 cents for cheese. (This is the case with both the online menu and the IRL menu.) They have a few games going on the TVs. There's a pool table in the back as well. Service was slow (I think they might be understaffed?) but the waitress was very friendly! TLDR come here if you want to hang, not if you want a quick bite/are in a rush

However they def sold more tickets than they should have. We were so far in the back that we couldn't see and the queens didn't come back to our area. Very disappointing. Prizes for this event were very odd and cheap. For the cost of the tickets, they could do better! Like give away a free drink or a gift card as a prize! They also need more bartenders as it was packed. Like i said, place has good potential, but the follow through is missing.

The drink menu was not very extensive. Our Asian salad cups appetizer tasted exactly like an Asian salad mix I've bought at the grocery store and looked like it too - I'm convinced that's exactly how they prepared this. My veggie burger had burnt edges and wasn't too enjoyable flavor-wise. It didn't help my overall impression that when I got takeout here another time, they totally butchered my boyfriend's name when we ordered over the phone, and we had a hard time picking up our order because of this (how you get "Stephanie" from "Anthony," I just really don't know). I think this place just gets lucky having a good location across from Independence Park and being close to but just out of the way from downtown. Can't say I was impressed by the food - there are too many other good options in Bristol, I just can't say I'd recommend this to others. Perhaps it's improved since I visited, but it's a pass for me based on experiences I've had.
