I went to Yin Yang with a guest for lunch today after hearing they had a Buffett. The restaurant is located in a building that has been converted into a food court. It has adequate indoor seating and no outdoor seating. It is located close to the plaza, which is walking distance from much of tourist Santa Fe. However, this also means that parking can be an issue. The Buffett is small; however, the quality is awesome. It is also only $14, which is as much as you would spend at a fast food restaurant these days. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We also ordered a sake, which I highly recommend. The service was great and attentive. I will definitely return.

7 Vegetables and tofu with brown rice, hot and sour soup and an egg roll. This is a lunch special for $11

Yin Yang is across the street from my office and I've not gone in ages because of a less than stellar experience about 5 years ago. I am SO happy I tried them again and especially for lunch! I have been ordering the $11 lunch special with 7 vegetables and tofu, brown rice, a cup of hot and sour soup and an egg roll. It can easily be 2 meals! The egg roll is mediocre but the hot and sour soup is fantastic and the main dish is excellent. I've ordered this at least 5 times in the past 2 months and have been thankful they provide me a healthy, nourishing meal. They have an excellent online ordering service which means I can order from my computer and walk over and pick up and be back at work in minutes. I am excited to try their other offerings, if I ever tire of my go to dish!

So friendly, quick service. Dealt with a very large group of us and coordinated 6 different menu options. Food was good, I had the vegetables in a white rice sauce.

The reviews for this place were all over the map, including a couple of reviews by folks who seemed to be off their psych meds or something to be honest, so we initially came in with some trepidation. However, we liked it so well, we ate here twice while on vacation in Santa Fe and found the food quality excellent and the service fast and courteous. Furthermore, my husband is Han Chinese, born and raised in Zhengzhou, China, so he can be incredibly picky about Chinese food in the US. Over the course of two separate meals we had Peking Duck, Sha Cha Beef, Hunan Chicken & Shrimp, Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce, Heng Yang Beef, Crispy Duck as well as the Crispy Scallion Pancakes and the Chicken Dumplings in Spicy sauce for appetizers. Every single one of these dishes was a good quantity serving size, reasonably priced, hot and freshly prepared, and all quite tasty. The location is in a store front inside a small strip mall of some sort, so if you're looking candlelight, teakwood, and mahogany, this isn't the place. While it is somewhat older inside, it is well-lighted, spacious and reasonably tidy. In short, it is a pretty standard-issue American Chinese restaurant in overall appearance, but we came here for the food, not for linen napkins and a sommelier. As far as the food, after two separate meals we have absolutely nothing to complain about. If you're staying in the Santa Fe Historic District and want some good Chinese food, it's a quick 5 minute walk from there, so give it a try.

I had lunch today at Yin Yang. Chicken with snow peas. I had the chef add in cashews. Sheer perfection. The service was terrific also.

I went again today for a late lunch and enjoyed some aspects of the meal. For one, it was just me and two other tables who closed out right when I was walking in. I was quickly sat, and proceeded to have pretty slow service to start. Once a server finally came back around 5 minutes later, he brought some delicious spicy/sweet peanuts to start. Returned less than a minute later to take my order, then proceeded to have great service afterward.. let me start with the spicy baby cucumbers: pretty tasty and a large serving, however I didn't think they were that spicy. The chile oil used is mostly oily with some not so spicy Chiles used (that could just be my heat tolerance) but nonetheless, they were delicious. The hot tea was fresh and he brought it out with water, which I appreciated.. I was however slightly disappointed in the Dan Dan Noodles, I didn't take a picture just because it honestly was served not too appetizing or picture perfect like most of the previous reviews. Everything was mixed together, and the meat was all in the bottom under all of the noodles. The flavor was pretty good, but I didn't get the normal Szechuan flavor or spiciness that I've had in the past at other places. I do love the fresh noodles, but the overall dish was a little underwhelming. I would have liked it to be a little more presentable, along with more of a noteworthy flavor other than meaty broth with some chile oil (again more on the oily side not so much spice). Overall, the experience was decent and good service. I will come back to try something else and maybe it just wasn't a dish for me.

This was the spot I found myself in about midway through my trip to Sante Fe, and happen to find this Asian spot pretty close to my hotel. The Yelp reviews checked out, and some of the photos really were enticing so I decided to give it a go on a chilly night. It's a simple but well appointed place, just outside the main downtown area, and really close to the main rail station.. just a block or two over. Walking in your are confronted with delicious smells and savory aromas, always a good sign. I took a seat and was helped promptly. I had seen glowing reviews about their hot and sour sweet potato rice noodle soups, and decided to get one with beef. I also can't help but get some dumpling, and went with the spicy shrimp ones. My soup came out first, and was in a nice large bowl filled up with hot soup. My first sip was so incredible, I could not wait to plow through the bowl, and I did just that. Spicy, sour, hearty, tender beef and noodles, lots of well cooked veggies... it all came together beautifully. This was the perfect dish with it being cold out. Shortly after, my dumplings arrived, and they were the perfect compliment to the soup. I even put a couple in there to soak up that hot and sour flavor, and that was just delightful. On their own, they were plenty good. I have no complaints about either item. This was the perfect change-up meal from all the New Mexican cuisine I had been having. I recommend it for those seeking a curveball!

I ordered the shrimp fried rice, which came out quickly, piping hot, and delicious. It needed just a tad of heat-bringing spice, and the table-provided chile crisp was just the thing. There were lots of shrimp, and little explosions of nicely-plumped peas and corn kernels in every bite. My wife ordered the fried pork dumplings, which took an inexplicably long time to come out of the kitchen. The server apologized, but didn't explain the delay. However, they were large, perfectly fried, and very filling. She loved them, and luckily we were not in a hurry that day. We didn't order drinks other than water, but they have a decent selection of bottled sodas, beers, and mineral water on display, and they offer Thai tea, ginger tea, and iced teas as well. Everything says freshly, handmade, and the staff seems always busy and on task. Highly recommended.

We started the evening with the Volcano, a drink that's on fire upon arrival. So fun and delicious. Over the years, I've had a few things on the menu, but my absolute favorite, which is one of my absolute favorite dishes I've ever had is their Singapore Style Noodles Singapore style noodles is often my go to when I have to eat cheap fast Chinese food in Tennessee or other less sophisticated places This is different ! The way the chef executes this incredible dish reminds me a little more of Thai or Laotian food than Chinese ! The noodles have such a complex curry with a bit of sweetness they are not the standard yellow curry powder that you can buy off Amazon. The Char Sui Pork in the dish is to die for !! moist, tender and perfectly tasty Interesting that it is served with a lime wedge, which definitely makes me think Thai influence! Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this dish after having it many times over the years and will truly say it is one of the best Asian dishes I've ever eaten anywhere including Los Angeles, Hawaii, and Washington DC all of which I resided in Maybe I'll find something better on a trip to Hong Kong who knows ?? By the way, I met Jesus here (Not the holy resurrected one ! ) He's a friendliest bartender you will ever meet and he made me the very best Mai Thai I've ever tried, which is their house specialty drink. The goodness began with Naomi, who helped me fix an error in my reservation and get a table at a good time tonight. The goodness continued with our server Mitzi, who should be teaching graduate classes in hospitality in every big city. She was friendly without being overbearing, informative without being pedantic, subtle and gracious. Now, the food! My wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I had some of each dish: so very flavorful (a green salad with pears, a life-changing mushroom bisque [and I don't like mushrooms!], a chickpea croquette with pickled artichoke hearts and ratatouille, and a substitution of the lemon crepe for three yummy scoops of sorbet and gelato. I chose the scallops, perfectly cooked and moist, over couscous, and a dish of tasty sauteed baby spinach. A wonderful experience, and not overpriced, and everyone treated us sweetly. The interior is classy and very comfortable. We were seated at a nice comfy corner booth. The soft music in the background was soothing and just noticeable enough without being a distraction. We were served complimentary flutes of local sparking wine and a fresh baked bread basket and butter to start. We then ordered cocktails and three starters. First was a split plate of the endive smoked duck salad with a warm bacon vinegarette. Wow...this was nice and refreshing. This was followed by the crab dumplings with fresh corn and peas and lobster sauce. Delicious! The final small plate was seared foie gras on top of banana bread toast. This was very good. I miss foie gras. Unfortunately, it's banned in California. They had a 2023 Sea Smoke "Ten"Pi ot Noir on the wine list. This is one of the best Pinot Noirs produced in California and not easy to find. This was a no doubter and we ordered a bottle to pair with our entrees. My wife ordered their signature elk tenderloin for redemption because the restaurant the night before failed at executing this. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. This was cooked to perfection with a nice thin crust on the outside and a perfect very light pink juicy center. We ordered a side of brocolini that was pan roasted with shallots and butter. Everything was very good and Michelin grade in our opinion. Lastly we ended the evening and split the tiramasu type of desert. My wife had the expresso martini and I had an 18 year old Glen Morangie scotch neat. The service was excellent and worth the splurge. This is a must when visiting Santa Fe.

You can get them steamed, boiled, or fried, and you can get them in a hot soup made of an indescribably delicious broth with succulent vegetables. They also offer the dumplings in a "rainbow" assortment, with the wraps' hues produced only by natural vegetable colorings. No food dyes or anything synthetic. Each color shows what is inside, such as green for vegetarian, and there's an option for lamb or pork/shrimp filling, known as "Signature." We were a party of four on a birthday dinner outing. We had the large rainbow and everything was amazing. We also had the chicken dumplings with hot soup, and an order of the Korean BBQ short ribs. The ribs are marinated for a couple of days before searing them and presenting them with a mound of rice with black sesame seeds and a sample of the really wonderful homemade kimchi. The Angus beef makes the just-right doneness both crisp and tender. You should be aware that this is a small, family-run restaurant. Each dish is prepared and served separately, to assure freshly-made savor, I assume. So the ribs I ordered came out several minutes before the dumplings, and the dumplings in soup arrived a few minutes after that. We had no problem with that sequence, but others may. They also had an issue with the machine that makes all the "fancy" non-alcoholic drinks, so the choices were limited to canned or bottled sodas/teas in a cooler, and iced or hot coffee, or water from a dispenser near the register. But we were just fine with our selections. As we were leaving, the chef found out we were doing a birthday dinner and insisted on making something special. She came out several minutes later with a box of piping-hot sesame-coated desserts: little spheres with a slightly sweet red bean paste inside the shell. So nice. Takeout is big there, and they have amazing other dishes we didn't sample, so we'll be back, for sure.
