Whenever I'm in a different section of town and starting to get hungry I usually check Yelp to see what places are close by that I might be interested in going back to or trying out for the first time. Some of the places I might have enjoyed were either closed on Saturday or didn't stay open past 2 or 3 p.m. I had just been at the Natural Grocers and then drove over two Soncy to get a label printed at Office Max. When I looked on Yelp this look like it might be a more expensive place until I read the reviews and looked at some of the photos and realized it's more of a fast food Asian place. I decided to give it a try so I drive back over to that area. I would say it was typical fast food fair, nothing fancy, pretty decent, excessively sodium filled, decent quantity of food for the price. The vegetables and fish tasted good and the rice was actually far superior to what I had had a week earlier at Pei Wei. Pei Wei's rice was downright crunchy and chewy but the rice at Chop Chop was very moist and enjoyable to eat. It didn't stick together like it would have in a genuine Asian restaurant so it was a little tricky to eat with chopsticks because it kept wanting to fall apart when I would pick up bites, but I made it all the way to the end of the plate without having to switch to silverware. A manager type person stopped by to see if everything was okay which I thought was great. I had no complaints except maybe that the condiment bottles were on the Sticky Side. That is fairly common in restaurants but I don't consider acceptable because it seems to me that sticky containers would be serious germ catchers and multipliers. At the end I was looking around for a place to take my plate and a pleasant young man offered to take it for me. I would give them five stars for service. I was looking for an inexpensive meal and this one came to under $10 so I was satisfied with the price and what I got for it. It's not gourmet food but I would still recommend it to others because it wasn't bad food at all. I might even want to come back and try something else another time.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was fun, lively, and full of energy. The hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made us feel right at home. The food was delicious, and the portions were more than worth the price. Everything we ordered was flavorful and satisfying. What truly took our experience over the top, though, was our server, Corbin. He greet us with a great smile, he was friendly, inviting, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. He made excellent recommendations, checked on us often, and genuinely made our visit memorable. Especially when my wife forgot her sunglasses. Corbin was essential in us finding. Thank you Corbin!!! If you're passing through Amarillo, The Big Texan is definitely worth the stop, and if you get Corbin as your server, you're in for an even better experience!

Our server was very attentive and cheery. They have a very large two level dining area. The steaks are grilled in plain sight in front of the stage where the world famous 72 oz steak challenge takes place. They bring out fresh baked rolls with your meal. The half order of fried mushrooms was great. My son enjoyed his two 5 oz steak filets, my wife was very pleased with her Prime Rib. I was disappointed with my rib eye, I had to trim off too much fat. The desert was delicious. Overall, don't expect a steak you would be served at a fine steakhouse, but definitely give the Steak Ranch a visit.

When you walk in, If they have a table available, they will direct you to it, otherwise they will take your last name and tell you to go back outside and wait until they call your name. The menu is fairly straightforward so orders turned around pretty quick and it was a maximum of 20 to 25 minute wait to turn a table. My husband ordered the Hell burger which had the hot sauce on it and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Both were absolutely fantastic as well as the shoestring fries were very good! Hubs really liked that his burger had a ton of peppers on it as well as the hot sauce so he felt like he was getting his daily vegetable allotment, lol! The service was actually pretty quick again, I believe this is because the menu was super simple and they had a ton of regulars coming in. You can also order to go if you don't want to wait as several people did, and my understanding is the packaging is fantastic so just as good as if you were sitting in the restaurant. The place is super small and there are tons of stuff on the wall so it's an interesting place. Service was friendly and efficient and now we can check this one off our checklist that we have been here when driving through Amarillo!

Aside from the Seafood Fondeaux being a little on the saltier side...Saltgrass Steakhouse is probably the #1 Steakhouse here in Amarillo Texas (just my opinion)...if I had to leave one two word adjective to describe my entire experience today at this Steak House...."Michelin Worthy." Obviously not at Joel Robuchon level, but they sure execute everything like Brick & Mortar Steakhouse would be expected on Rodeo Drive. Perfect Medium Rare, Great baked sweet potatoes with that foam melt butter, garlic butter and grilled shrimp were cherries on top of the pie as a Steak Add-on, phenomenal balsamic vinegarette fused Blue Cheese crumbs Wedge Salad, and the Seafood Fondeaux was as if you married lobster bisque with creme spinach and queso, a superb starter. Premium Service by Isabel, top notch multitasker handling the bar, and multiple fronts. A well put together Southern Cowboy country Interior with very fitting country music. First time at Saltgrass, and what are my last thoughts? Definitely on my recommend list to anyone looking for a casual weekday steak lunch or dinner. Worth the spend!
