My parents live in a neighboring town and have been coming here and/or getting takeout since they opened up many many years ago. Seven Woks has been one of the staples of the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center and one of the originals that have survived in that location. My family and I live out of town and when we visit my father, he still wants to get Chinese food from here. Over the past several weeks, we did take out on two occasions. My 92 year old father appears to be still a fan of this establishment but in reality, my family and I have had much better Chinese food at just about everywhere else. Our two trips included having the egg rolls, steamed vegetable dumplings, chicken chow fun, pork lo mein, vegetable lo mein, and chicken and broccoli. The egg rolls appeared to be smaller than other egg rolls from similar restaurants. The steamed dumplings had a thick consistency, like playdough, and had little filling. Usually, we are used to thin skin on the dumplings and lots of filling. We can sum up all the other dishes in one word. BLAND. No taste, no seasoning, and just disappointing. From now on, we will convince my father to try another ethnic food when we are in town or I will cook for him. Our orders were always ready on time and the staff was always pleasant when we picked up. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall.

Night started out bad with them assigning the worst…read moretable in the place y squeezing us in between other tables. couldn't even fit . had to argue with the very young inexperienced girls running the place. but, that's where it stops and the joy of the food starts. each dish better and better soup dumplings very juicy with the wrapping not too thick . soup inside not too salty. lettuce chicken wraps where amazing but what stole the night were the spare ribs. wow great dish. meat falls off the bone in a great sauce was really impressed with the scallion pancakes. comes out all blown up and super thin. we all shared peking duck. the wraps were super thin and so fresh. the meat was tender but the leg was dried out. also ordered basil chicken dish. wow so much flavor and the spices make your mouth numb in a good way have to say i was pleasantly surprised on the prices very reasonable. waiter was good but service is kinda slow huge parking lot. definitely can't wait to come back. come early this place packs it quickly.

The soup dumplings were amazing I love truffle and I'm so happy about this addition to the menu! The braised beef clay pot was so yummy and warm and hearty, perfect for a chilly day. The thing that I am still befuddled by is that I had stomach issues again the next day! I didn't even have the same menu items as last time so I'm not sure what the issue is. But it still won't stop me because I love Chinese food way too much lol.

The soup dumplings were definitely the highlight. They make the dumplings right in the restaurant and you can watch them being made. The dumplings were flavorful and full of soup, and my son especially loved them. Six dumplings ended up being a good amount for us. The vinegar came in a dropper which seems ingenious - much easier than dipping. The chicken and broccoli was also very tasty. The chicken was soft and nicely velveted, and the portions were generous. The mapo tofu was okay -- a little saltier than expected -- but still good when eaten with the rice. The brown rice itself was slightly on the hard side. Service was very good. Our server, a young man, was attentive without being overbearing, which we appreciated. One thing to note: parking can be tricky since it's all street parking and there are a lot of nearby shops. We happened to come on a holiday around 3 pm, so parking was easy for us. Overall, good food, large portions, and friendly service. We'd come back again.
