Mozzarella Sticks...frozen and very bland...no seasoning
    Mallory Q.

My family and I were in the mood for a Burger and was near the Northside. We decided to check out Choppers because someone said their burgers were pretty good....WELLL...SOMEBODY LIED!!!! I placed my order at the counter 1 Charbroiled cheeseburger, 1 double cheeseburger, 1 order of French fry, 1 Malt, and an order of mozzarella sticks for my son. After ordering, I paid for my food and stepped to the side and within 2 minutes all of it was ready. THAT WAS THE 1ST RED FLAG. I was wondering how did they have my burgers ready within 2 minutes. My husband immediate noticed the burgers were FROZEN PATTIES AND WERE ALREADY PRE-COOKED..When we order they removed the patty from a warmer and placed it on a grill. The burger was a perfect rectangle thin shape.which tell me it wasn't fresh beef. You cant possibly char-grill, and make a fresh burger in 2 minutes and 11 seconds. The fries were the best thing I ordered out of the entire meal. They were fresh and steak cut. The mozzarella sticks were bland and frozen! My malt contained too much syrup and was nothing to write home about. I will never return back to Choppers simply because the burgers are only put on the grill to melt the cheese and quickly taken off! Disappointing for $11!! They should be ashamed of themselves serving those super thin, underseasoned, pre cooked and frozen burgers.

The Choppak is my new go-to order. The burger was thick, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned, and the toasted bakery bun made it even better. Add in crispy fries and creamy homemade coleslaw and you've got a meal that hits every craving. Worth every bite.

Pretty good burgers, but the steak fries are the star of the place. I walked 1/2 mile each way to get there. Would I do that again?? Probably not. I'm a Heinz ketchup fan & their mystery ketchup was pretty good. Great prices though!!

I asked the clerk which one he would recommend the burger or the beef. He recommended the burger. I ordered the burger and while I was waiting, I asked him for a sample of the beef after I tried the beef I got an Italian beef, and addition to my burger and had a little bit of each one the burger was really good. The price was amazing was seven dollars for, two burgers grilled onions, lettuce, tomato pickle mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup came with some steak fries and coleslaw. The beef was very good the flavor it was a little dry I did not have a dipped, but I did get gravy on the side and it was delicious with hot oil on the side. Good chocolate shake. They had a quad burger that had five patties instead of four , great service very clean . I lucked out, and I found parking small parking lot in a busy area downtown. They had outdoor seating too if you're in the area check it out.

This place is amazing value. It's clean but there are a lot of small flies. The food and location has a very retro style. Seats are a little small. But they're pretty quick and no frills.

Visiting a friend in the area, they requested a stop here to get some food and milkshakes, and I waited in the car for 15 minutes. Cramped parking, mediocre fast food, slow service. Why? do people come here, I would like to know.

    Receipt

Based on my last experience. I ordered 2x triple burgers and fries. I was charged $22.38. No itemized receipt was provided. I inquired to how we got to that cost. He states 2x burgers 2x fries. I advised it was one fry. He hands $3.85 . I took it that was correct but when I figured it out he still owed me a $1 . Little did I know they changed the meat. I bit into the burger and it tasted odd. No fresh burger meat chargrilled. This tasted like a high school cafeteria burger - no quality just cheap/soy /meat blend. I ate the burger and thought it was me. However I took the 2nd burger home and attempted to eat it. It tasted horrible. I got no fresh quality chart burger taste instead that cheap meat taste. I threw it out . What a waste. Completely regret ordering. This place went from 5 stars to 0 if I could give it. Not sure if under different management and attempted to go cheaper quality or what.

Food was delicious. Needed to grab dinner after my wine tasting in Old Town. Location was perfect as it was right off of North and Ashland. Pretty easy to get to location parking somewhat difficult. I was able to get in an order right away, my food was ready within one minute. I think they just have the burgers going and the fries getting fried quickly. I got the double cheeseburger special and it was very delicious. I had it when I got home with a glass of wine. Perfect to have a delicious double cheeseburger with the best Cabernet (Caymus $85 a bottle) on the market. I was really a happy and full with my selection. I finished the Burger, however I didn't finish the cole slaw or the French fries. However I save the French fries to have the next morning. I'm sure they'll do well being reheated in the air fryer. This meal probably could be shared with my husband if we just wanted a quick snack before going to sleep. Would definitely go back and try this place they looked like they had some dope ass mozzarella sticks.

It was incredibly crowded; it was hard to squeeze into the shop to order. But once we did, the food came out relatively quickly and we were lucky to get a table outside in the shade where it was quite pleasant. Just a block off of Michigan Avenue so easy to get to. Would definitely return the next time I'm in town and would recommend to others.

It has that classic late night comfort food vibe and feels like one of those staple spots you have to try at least once. First night I ordered a polish hot dog with everything on it and a fish sandwich w/ extra grilled onions. Super cool that your order comes with fries and I added a cheese cup both times. In my opinion the fries were mid the first go around, but second time they were better. Definitely tasted better dipped in cheese. They were kinda airy in texture, if that makes sense. Polish hot dog was around a 6.5-7/10 for me. It did taste better warmed up the next day. What I was most obsessed with was the double cheeseburger and fish sandwich! both were easily a 10/10. Super good prices and worth the money. Also, the chile peppers were sooo bomb and hotter than I expected ! I wanted to eat them all, but they were packing some serious heat! The lemon Italian ice is where it's at, make sure to order one! You can also mix it with strawberry, but both times people recommended the lemon and now I see why. The line gets super active and busy past 10-11pm, but during the daytime it's way less crowded. Even when it gets packed the line moves pretty quick. They stay open late and close at 1am which is nice.

It was almost 11pm (they're open until 2am on Fridays.) and there were at least a dozen other vehicles in their drive-in stalls. We were eating in our rental car in apx 10 min. It was cool to eat outside on a warm July night in a classic, 1950s style drive-in. The food was excellent, flavorful and fresh. I normally avoid krinkle cut fries because they are usually frozen and mushy or mealy. Not Superfries. These fresh cut fries were practically fried mashed potatoes. We loved them! The drinks were perfect. The Black Kows is basically a root beer float and served with an extra root beer "sidecar." Our only complaints were about errors with the garnishes. We specifically said we wanted all the garnishes on both dawgs and they only gave us the standard grilled onions on the Whoopskidawg and forgot the sport peppers on the Superdawg.
