They were so busy they ran out of cups. My coffee was served in styrofoam. I can understand that, but why also the plastic spoon?

The food itself tastes good and the portions are generous - next time I will just order for pick up. Came on a Sunday with my toddler, and it was very busy so I expected a bit of a wait on things. I have been here before for Sunday brunch with a large group and had a good experience, but today was not great. Got seated after only about 15 mins - totally reasonable. After that, multiple things went wrong. 1- I was initially given a high chair with a broken buckle, so I didn't fasten the straps and my toddler slipped down through the opening. She was ok, thankfully, and we got another one with working buckle. 2 - lots of flies. I felt like I was fighting them for my food. At one point I counted 5 at a time. 3 - I wasn't given utensils when I was seated or at the same time as my food. My food was served, then I had to wait for the waitress, then wait for the utensils. 5 mins of calming the hungry screaming toddler and watching our food cool down was not very cool. Same thing happened to the table next to me. 4 - they ran out of cups, and my coffee was served in a styrofoam cup with a plastic spoon. It tasted like plastic and I didn't enjoy it. When I saw that I was charged $4 for it, I asked the waitress to strike it from my bill, which she did. Individually these things were not a big deal, but overall it was just not great. I believe the waitress was just overwhelmed and doing her best.

Our food looked great at first glance, but the hygiene and service were terrible. Our server, Erick, was polite, but when our food first arrived, there was a hair in the potatoes. It wasn't a big deal to us, things happen. He apologized and took it back to be remade. A few minutes later, the plate came back out. When I lifted the egg, we found another hair trapped directly in the yolk and when we notified the staff, the manager came over, pulled the hair out, and defensively said, "I'm not sure how it got there, none of our cooks have long hair. They're males." It felt completely accusatory, implying we put it there, she hadn't touched the plate, and the hair was literally stuck under the other eggs. The comment completely ruined my friend's appetite. We told Erick we no longer wanted the food and just wanted the check. The manager brought the bill, unsmilingly said, "I removed it off your bill" and walked away without another word. Erick was nice, but the manager's defensive, rude attitude ruined the entire experience.

Our server Velma, one of the managers, was amazing. This is the best food in the Corpus Christi area, and we drive 45 minutes from Rockport every time just to eat here. The owner is so sweet and caring, and is willing to speak with customers about his story, which is crazy btw you have to hear it!!! Chicken is always crispy and flavorful. Food comes out quick, and servers are SO attentive. I've never been to a restaurant that I feel this passionate about, and I eat ALL DAY LONG. If you are in the Corpus Christi area, PLEASE do yourself a favor and stop and get some food here. You def won't regret it. WORTH EVERY PENNY, PERIOD. P.S, the restaurant is very cool and clean on the inside, all of the silver ware was clean, along with all dishes, and the ambiance was just phenomenal. WE WILL BE BACK

Updating this review to say that since this post, they have introduced a Vegan Fried Cauliflower sandwich! The coleslaw is made with vegan mayo and the cauliflower is fried in avocado oil! Also, check out their restaurant inside a restaurant "Taza" for vegan Mexican bowls :) Other great items: Vegan Beef Fajita Omelette V Burger Vegan Beef Wrap *The previously mentioned hash is NOT 100% vegan. The potatoes are not vegan *

Great food, great atmosphere and the employees are wonderful. The owner is very active and involved at the restaurant which I find very impressive.

The food is amazing here. I had Leo as a server and he was on top of it. He prepared a sample of corn beef for my table to try and it didn't disappoint. I ended up ordering the corned beef as I really liked his recommendation. The service around my table was also phenomenal, everyone was being checked on and serviced very often and politely. The menu is huge and everything on it appeals great. The setup inside is also very pleasing and aesthetic. I enjoyed the atmosphere more than I usually do going out to eat. I noticed the locals seem to come here. I will be back my next time in town

I went to **Chops & Eggs** in Corpus Christi expecting a good meal. I left convinced the place is running some sort of delicious, well-lit conspiracy against boring breakfast. First of all, the ambiance: imagine an upscale hash house that got a promotion and immediately started dressing better--but didn't lose its sense of humor. It's polished without being pretentious, cozy without being sleepy, and stylish in that "yes, I woke up like this" kind of way. You feel instantly cooler just sitting down. Now let's talk about the owner, who is as charming and witty as the menu itself. The kind of person who could explain the specials or casually win a dinner-party debate at the same time. You get the sense this place isn't just run--it's hosted. Like you've been invited into a very tasteful, very funny friend's kitchen. The food, though. Oh, wow! Every dish arrives looking like it knows it's about to be photographed, admired, and then absolutely demolished. The flavors are vibrant, confident, and unapologetically delicious--nothing timid, nothing lazy. Each bite feels intentional, like the chef personally dared it to be that good. And speaking of the chef: whoever is behind the pass clearly has a hilarious sense of humor. Not in a "let's be weird for attention" way, but in a clever, playful, "I love my job and I want you to love this meal" way. The menu reads like it's in on the joke, and the food delivers the punchline--repeatedly. In short, **Chops & Eggs** is what happens when excellent taste, sharp wit, and serious culinary skill all sit down at the same table and decide to show off a little. Come hungry. Leave happy. Try not to smirk while you eat--it's harder than you think.

I'm thoroughly impressed with the breakfast from chops and eggs. My husband and I both had hash and it was so delicious and flavourful. The portion sizes are huge so definitely getting a great bang for your buck. The service was also super friendly and very fast for a Saturday morning. Only downside is that there were plenty of flies flying around the establishment so you had to be on guard to make sure they didn't land on the food. If they could get that under control this place would be a 5/5 in my books.

Very photogenic food, good service, neutral ambiance. We went for a brunch service, I was very excited since ive always wanted to eat here, but now I know that is because the food LOOKS delicious but in reality the food was not amazing but it also wasn't bad thats why I give it a 3 star review. I will be back for a dinner service.

From the outside, very unassuming place. We arrived at 10 am on a Monday morning and got one of the last available parking spots so I assumed good things were ahead. That was an understatement as we were greeted immediately at the door where we noticed on a video playing that they are very farm to table and make their own corned beef as well as other items on the menu. Our waitress promptly greeted us after being seated and took our drink order. The menu has many options but some of their breakfast stars are the various hash offerings. I had the corned beef hash which is served with a large biscuit and two pasture raised eggs (your choice) while my wife had the crab hash served the same way. Food arrived quickly served in a cast iron skillet and was delicious. Portions are generous so come hungry! Mikayla took excellent care of us during our meal and all the servers seemed to be doing likewise with their customers. The food is a cut above your normal breakfast place as wife's hash was full of crab and her over easy eggs were cooked well. My scrambled eggs were also cooked nicely and I almost couldn't finish my corned beef hash due to the large portion. All in, this is a great spot and we will come back to check out some of their other dishes. Well done!

Dubai cheesecake from Chop and Eggs in Corpus Christi. Have Nutella on top, strawberries etc.

The service and ambiance amazing but the food is another level super delicious specially the Dubai cheesecake and lamb omelette.

It's really nice and clean on the inside which put us in a good mood. We ordered drinks before eating. My wife got the Mai Thai and I got beer and a double shot of Jamison. I didn't like the one light beer they had on draft. It was too hoppy for me. During the mail, I ordered a bottle of Coors (didn't have it on draft). We ordered a flat bread pizza for my wife and I got the fish and chips but substituted the rice pilaf for the fry's. The food was really good. My wife loved her pizza and it was the best battered fish I've ever had. The rice was pretty good too. However the price was a bit high. It was $107.00 and change. I gave a $20.00 tip so an expensive lunch for sure. I think it was the drinks (not sure). I'd go back for the food but drink less.‍

And the manager we spoke to went above and beyond to make sure not only we were ok, but she was checking on so many tables and was in the back helping the kitchen. I'm sorry to her that we had these issues while it was so busy. Also the ambiance was excellent. Beautiful decor very simple yet elegant. I wish I tried the beer but i was upset and not hungry anymore. Story Time: we came to the restaurant ordered a lot of food. They had a sign on the table for the happy hour from 3 to 7 after we had ordered off of that happy hour menu we had found out that that menu is for the bar and patio it is not for dining. my chicken parmigiana with spaghetti had a long black hair in it which confused me because the man who brought it to me had like no hair. I had told our waitress about the hair and just asked for it to be taken off our bill that was the end of that conversation because she never came back to our table for the rest of the night which was about 45 minutes to an hour of us being there. The manager was kind enough to offer us not only the buffalo sliders, but she also asked if we wanted one of their famous pazookies which was of course phenomenal. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible I'm writing this so the situation will actually be followed up on. When the manager had brought our bill over. Again, our server was dealing with her other three tables so she was apparently too busy. So the manager was our correspondence that's when we found out about the specials but we had asked the manager a server our server who i went to ask for a box. And then we had to ask another server for a box and she brought us a bowl. All of this while our server was purposefully, avoiding our table going out out of her way, physically to not have to walk next to our table which was near the bar. She walked around other sections so that she didn't have to walk past us to go to the table that was behind us.

My parents used to take me to the original location back in the 80s, and it was always a great experience. Back then you stood in line, ordered at the counter, and had more of a self-service experience. I think I still prefer that style over the newer sit-down service, but that may just be nostalgia talking. My son and I stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon while we were out around town digging through vinyl shops. He immediately requested Wallbanger's. Our waitress, Fantasia, was great and pointed out they had a $5 half-order appetizer special during happy hour. We started with mozzarella sticks and chipotle BBQ boneless wings. The mozzarella sticks do seem a little different from what I remember at the original spot, but these were still fresh, hot, gooey, and really good. The marinara they serve with them is great. The boneless wings were solid too, and their chipotle BBQ sauce is one of my favorites. My son ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with that same chipotle BBQ sauce. The sandwich was huge and he ended up taking half of it home to finish later. I went with the Uncle Sam burger, which is a classic burger setup with bacon added. It was very good. Their sidewinder fries are always on point. One thing that deserves special attention here is the bun. They make their buns in house and they're excellent. Fresh, soft, and full of flavor. It's not just something holding the burger together. The bun is part of what makes the whole burger experience work. This place has been part of my family's routine for decades now. I hope it sticks around long enough for a fourth generation of my family to enjoy it.
