I called this restaurant on October 17, 2012 to order a gift card for my 83 year old mother for her birthday 2 days later. I impressed upon them the importance to mail the card that same day so my mother would receive it by her birthday. They managed to mail the gift card a full 2 days later, meaning my mother received it 2 days late. Hopefully the other administration of their restaurant is better than that crappy job. Upon arriving at the table on a Sunday night, we were rush to order and only offered a glass of wine after insisting on it. We ordered a salad that was stacked and upon arriving at our table, it had fallen over. Wasn't taken back but rather waiter made a joke of it and served it. Our waiter checked back infrequently but gave all of his attention to a group of businessmen at the adjacent table. The prices at this establishment should include more attention to detail. After having wonderful dining experiences in Naples the concierge from our hotel made reservations at Chops....what a disaster. The hostess was beyond rude. We've never been treated so rudely. The server was nice but not very interested in serving us. We had to ask for bread 4 times and 2 entrees were not prepared as requested. The bill was over $500 for 5 of us. What a rip off. read more

We have no problem spending $200 (for 2) for a really good meal but this wasn't worth it. The service was excellent and the drinks were great but the oysters "Chopafeller" were a combination of too many flavors and too rich. The biggest disappointment, and reason for this review, was the 14 oz filet which I ordered rare. Even rare it was dry and tasteless and I had to order the peppercorn sauce (+$2) just to make it edible. I ate half and will make a sandwich with the rest. This was NOT a $56 steak! I've had plenty of filets at that price that were truly excellent but not this one. The 4 Cheese Mac served as a side was little better than the Kraft stuff that comes in a box. The cheese is a cloying sauce that is overpowering and I can still feel the coating in my mouth an hour after the unremarkable cappuccino. Time to go brush my teeth now to make it stop! With so many wonderful restaurants in Naples this one can be missed. read more

This is my favorite restaurant on 5th Ave, and there are a lot of good restaurants here. The menu is ambitious but no detail is left to chance. The servers are top notch and the bartenders are amiable. The interior is very pretty. I love the tuna chop. My husband loves the burger, but you can only get it at the bar. Every dish I ever tasted here was delicious and the presentation is perfect. I can't imagine how anyone wouldn't love this restaurant! read more

Took my parents here while I was down for a visit. The food, service and location were great. My parents both thoroughly enjoyed their dinners and we're planning another visit for February to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Possibly the worse restaurant experience I have ever had in my entire life! I have traveled extensively and eaten in some of finest restaurants in the world and my experience tonight at Chops was simply awful. There's so much hype about Chops being such a great place and I couldn't wait to enjoy my last evening out to dinner since my arrival in Naples in January. My 80 year old mother and I arrived at 5:00 p.m. to have dinner, but since we didn't have a reservation, the extremely unprofessional manager said to wait at the bar until he sat his patrons who had reservations, then he would get to us. After a 20 minute wait, I was getting nervous that we wouldn't be seated in time for the "Early Bird" specials that are, by the way, the most expensive on 5th Avenue. My Mom is on a fixed income and wanted to treat me to a nice dinner in a "fancy"restaurant for our last evening out together. How wrong we were to choose this restaurant! The "Happy Hour"/ "Early Bird" specials are over at 5:30 at Chops ... They open at 5:00!!!....so you have 30 minutes to be seated and place your order....if you don't put your order in by 5:30... tough luck! When I asked the very young, inexperienced hostess if we could please be seated, she placed us in a dark, secluded booth in the bowels of the restaurant. The waiter came over and told us in a very rapid manner that we had two minutes to place our order for the "Early Bird" specials because the computer would shut down and not allow him to put in our meal order so that we could receive the advertised lower price on the menu. What?! I was shocked.... So you go into this pretentious restaurant on 5th Avenue expecting to be warmly greeted and you leave feeling like a second class citizen because you're not a "regular" with reservations... Why bother going?!?! You're essentially forced to pay more for your meal because of their ineptness at seating customers! Typical Bait and Switch advertising.... Not good! Please!!! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER go to this uninspiring, overrated restaurant unless you want to spend your hard earned money on sub-par service for mediocre food and drinks. I counted at least 10 waitstaff just standing around while we waited to be seated. The place was nearly empty when we arrived... We had a drink at the bar and the bartender never came back to ask if we would like to order an appetizer or dinner...simply terrible service. Please save your money and enjoy a delicious, reasonably priced meal next door at Bistro 821. They warmly welcomed us after we left the negativity and bad Karma of Chops. I will never return to Chops... I'll be surprised if they remain in business. read more

We love Chops! We normally go to Bonita Springs, but tried this location for a bit of a change. As usual, the steaks were supurb, done perfectly. Ribeye for me; my husband prefers the filet. Loaded mashed potatoes go great with it. Bread, very good and hot. Good selection of wines by the glass. Would go back in a heartbeat! read more

I will never go back. The food is well presented and tasty, but the service is cold and indifferent, as is the ambiance. There are many Naples restaurants with far better food. Chops is part of a small regional chain. I'd advise skipping this restaurant, and its sister establishments in the chain, and enjoying some of the other delightful locally owned and operated restaurants in Naples. read more

This is the most overrated restaurant in Florida. Four of us went there and received the worst service . The waiter seemed like he was on drugs as he asked us repeatedly what we had ordered, he disappeared and didn't come back for over 30 minutes. My wife finally had to go to the kitchen window to her entree. One of the salads was totally wilted and inedible. The prices are outrageous for what you get...bad food and terrible service. We dined again at Chops Saturday night and had to write a review. Food was incredible...still dreaming about my Filet Mignon with Bernaise...baked potato mmmmm chopped wedge salad delish. Husband had sushi...incredible and an incredible steak as well. Ambiance, food and service always a plus...very accommodating...we didn't have a reservation and were able to wait for a table. Chops keep doing what you guys always do...The Vinny for dessert...enough said. Chops you Rock!!!! read more

The food and service is excellent. Both my husband and I have never had a bad meal here. We did have one incident recently that was a bit surprising. We always make reservations but this one particular night at 4:50pm we walked in off the street and didn't have a reservation. We were told that we could be seated outside cause they didn't have any availability inside. I stated that we eat there often. We were told they were booked and couldn't accommodate us inside. They proceeded to show us a computer screen that didn't tell us very much. We said thank you and left. My husband found it hard to believe that at 4:50pm they had every table accounted for already and no one was even there yet. He went outside and called the restaurant from his cell phone and was told they did have availablity for us. Go figure! At which point I was not going to go back into the restaurant that night. I guess they feel if you walk in off the street without a reservation they don't want you seated inside?????? read more

this was an amazing experience from the reservations to the apps/cocktails to the dinner/dessert. service was divine, the atmosphere was great. i live in naples, fl so i have been fortunate to experience many restaurants, and chops is top notch and hands down the best! i recommend the tuna chop for an app and filet for dinner with the cauli smash! read more

First and likely the last visit. The "seafood short stack" appetizer was excellent. My wife ordered and enjoyed the 3 small filet mignon special. I on the otherhand ordered the dry aged ribeye, cooked medium. It was delivered well done and upon advising the waitress she stated that being dry aged the steak would take on a different appearance than a normal steak. Being that it's not the first time I've had a dry aged steak, I advised her that it was dry and overcooked and that I was not relying totally on the appearance. She recommended that the next one be prepared medium rare. Upon receiving the second steak, which appeared to be their bone-in strip steak even though the waitress said it was also a ribeye (bone-in ribeye isn't on their menu) was cooded medium rare. I ate the more cooked portions around the middle. When asked if I wanted to send it back again, I refused as I was tired of waiting as my wife and our dinner guest had been finished with their meal for some time. Interesting enough, the waitress then admitted that the first steak was in-fact overcooked. Like others, I don't mind paying a premium for great food, but a steak house that charges nearly $50 for a steak should know how to cook them.
