We tried this place out for the first time last weekend. Got there a little after noon- there was maybe a couple of other people in the restaurant. First impressions weren't great- if we hadn't noticed the welcome board inside the front entrance we would have walked around a bit more to find a way in. No one was standing at the host desk, so we walked in and found our friends. We were greeted on the way to the table by the waitress/bartender/greeter. She was great, especially since she seemed to be the only one besides the cook working. We ordered drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and they came out pretty quickly. Took a bit of time before we were able to order, and about 30 minutes for our food after that. The Trash Can Nachos were HUGE and decent (they were even better when we reheated them at home!). We ordered the Caprese pizza for our daughter and asked for no pesto or balsamic drizzle- it came out as a plain cheese pizza- no tomatoes or basil. We didn't bother to send it back for fear it would take too long. We also ordered the Boss Hog burger with fries- neither were special, and for the price not worth it. We will probably try this place out again for a concert, but don't plan on returning for the food. read more

Came here Saturday night and could not have been more excited. What a breath of fresh air to be waited on by cute waitresses with no mask on. Great concert followed dinner. This will definitely be one of my go to places. read more

2 stars for Service- waitress's are either given to many tables or just plan bad at their job. Waiting 15 min to get service once we sit down, order drinks, takes 10 more minutes and then waiting for her to come check on us to order another 10..so now it's been 35 min, no drinks yet and still hasn't taken order. Order food another 35 min, not her fault, this time.... Then never shows back up to table after food delivered until we are done, drinks empty and no where to be found. 4- stars for food...delish Well once I find myself in Roanoke...beautiful day, after many ice cold days, finally a Saturday where a patio is worth it. Coming to Chop House they have an amazing opportunity to open the large garage doors and bring the outside in...but epic fail here. After sitting at my table for 10 min, I get greeted...give my whole order, beer, and Sandwich and a water sandwich....here we are 35 min later...no food, no water , empty beer glass... After months of being open Managment still has no idea what they are doing. Restaurant filled with bikers at the bar drinking, no one really in the dining room... Hmm why is food taking so long. Waitress is mediocre at best. Roanoke Chopshop Live has failed again....if I could write a review with "0" stars I would. So if you go, plan to go somewhere else. Roanoke has other great places that pride in service, food and atmosphere...ChopShop does non- of these. read more

If you are looking for food, drinks, and music at the same time you've come to the wrong place. They don't allow restaurant food in the music area. Managers are unsympathetic to customer concerns and feedback. They don't know if they want to be a restaurant or concert venue. Although they seem very proud of both, neither is good enough to stand alone. Don't pay for VIP seating, it doesn't get you much besides a dedicated seat and a little less money in your wallet. This place doesn't care about you, they just want your money - on their terms. Spend it elsewhere. What a waste of a good location and venue. read more

Arrived early for a show to grab a bite to eat. Greatly disappointed. Place is cool, concept is neat, follow through is a fail. Food was subpar. We tried: Buffalo egg rolls advertised as "won ton" papers but was more fried dough like and was the best of the items we tried. The meat board isn't my forte, but I tried a piece of the ribeye which was really bland for steak. The board advertised having "cheeze whiz," but there wasn't any, not sure how it would have fit in with cubes of cheese and fried meat cubes anyway ... Chili was also bland, no heat, no spice, basically a bowl of tomato/meat. Cesar salad was not standard Cesar dressing, it was more of a sweet vinegar dressing and the Parmesan crisp was stale and also flavorless. (How is Parmesan cheese flavorless?!) We added grilled chicken and that was pretty good. Broccoli with cheese was watered down, and again the cheese sauce was lacking (bland). We left many items unfinished and sent them to the trash. Currently awaiting the music to start while I write my review. Two stars for style. read more

Went with a group on a Friday night, to see a cover band. Some of the group got there first and warned us about the smaller patio menu. Good to note. Several of us ate inside, then ventured on the patio to see the band. Food menu was good, beer selection is pretty solid. Plenty of tables, if you get there early for seats. read more

Stopped by on a Friday, had food and drinks before show. Food and service was amazing. I highly recommend the chicken fried ribeye, their homemade gravy was incredible. Highly disappointed! My husband and I were excited to try a new venue & walked in to a "seat yourself sign" on a sunny Saturday afternoon and took a seat on their patio. The atmosphere looked great, but we sat for 20 minutes and a server NEVER came by. We decided to leave (still no host, no service staff in sight and only 1 bartender (who never looked up).) Terrible service. There were not enough people working for the amount of people there, and being it was a concert night they should have been more prepared. People in the VIP seating area said there was no table service for them and were told It would be an hour wait for a drink. The concert was awesome, but the lack of service and wait for a drink overshadowed the fun of the band. It's an ok place to eat. A bit pricey for what you get. Onion rings are suppose to be really good, I'd give them a star, very greasy and too much batter. The classic burger is suppose to have spicy mayo, they didn't put hardly any on it and I asked for extra they charged me for it. Such a cool and unique place! Great concerts all the time and really good, fun food! The service is fun and friendly and informative about anything you need. They have some fun games inside to keep you having a good time rather than just sitting and eating and drinking (other than the great daily entertainers). The stage outside is HUGE and can hold a massive amount of people. They have multiple bars so you'll never have to worry about getting a drink. Would highly recommend, it's a great vibe and fun atmosphere. read more

I really wanted to like this place... Our server was nice when she was there but generally I could see most of the servers talking in the kitchen area for a long time during my meal. I wanted to substitute fries (listed as $3 on the sides menu) for the chips my meal comes with (listed also as $3 on the sides menu). I was told I couldn't substitute this and had to buy the fries in addition. This was a little ridiculous to me. Why would I need to pay a whole extra $3 on a $10 plate (I was only getting a grilled cheese) for an item you yourself stated as being the same cost as what I was getting? I brought this up with the waitress and she even admitted it was ridiculous but there was nothing she could do. That's fine, I didn't blame her at all. In the end the food tasted pretty bland and didn't seem to be enough food for the price ($10 for a small grilled cheese and very little chips? Seriously?) I think the only reason this place is still in business is the live music outside in the patio area. I don't think we'll be back unless there's a change to management or way they do things. There's plenty of better restaurants in this area. Edit: I'd also like to add that I ordered an alcoholic drink as well and it seemed very watered down. Oh my lord and stars above!!!! I was here the other day for the Jack Ingram concert and not only service but the food was outstanding!! I order the Bologna Sliders with a Caesar Salad and they both came out extremely fast!! The chips that came with the sliders has some sort of mystery seasoning that's out of this world. I can't even begin to describe the flavors except for out of this world. My server Nikki was beyond attentive and helped guide my friends and myself through everything flawlessly. The venue is amazing the service is incredible and the food is almost gastropub level! I highly recommend everything about ChopShop Live!!! read more

I am sitting here wanting the old menu back. We have loved the Chop Shop but when we arrived this visit we found out they changed the menu. They removed all of our favorite foods. The pulled pork grilled cheese is gone, the Kobe corn dogs are gone, the Quesadilla is gone. Some of the best items we came here for are no longer available. Our new choices were just so so. What a disappointment! The booths & stools were uncomfortable, the server was rude, no where to be found, and messed up our checks three times. The food was OK for the price. Husband's burger was beyond well done & practically nonexistent. The trash can nachos were chips with queso. These are not $12 nachos. The place was empty and the chef would not allow me to delete mustard from a sandwich.... the vip section is more like a detention center. the outdoor bar is very limited in selection... if not for the great band the night would have been a total disaster.
