My boyfriend and I tried going here last night to see a cover band. We sat for 15 min in the back without service. Finally he went inside to get some help he tried to order food for outside and couldn't because of rules so he bought us two drinks instead. The bartender asked "who's the second drink for and I need to see their id as well." I have been here several times with my parents and they always have bought multiple drinks without question. YOU have to treat everyone the same this is not okay!!! So then we were food-less and drink-less finally got a waitress to come by and she told us the table we were at was blocked off for social distancing. Are you kidding??? There was no reserved sign on the table and all the tables in the front were packed no waitress or bartender in masks. I really didn't understand this. Then my boyfriend and I were talking for a moment about what to do and the bouncer came over to tell us again we had to move. I left crying and went to Marty B's and had a blast. I'm seriously so disappointed and upset I used to come here a lot but the ID thing is getting extremely annoying I get it you're doing your job but treat everyone the same or you'll use the younger crowd. A new favorite for us! The bartenders - India & the manager - Brittany - are super nice and helpful. I love the simple salmon dinner with a little jalapeño butter & broccoli. My boyfriend loves the chicken fried ribeye. Draft beer, exceptional service and very good meeting - what more could we ask for? Live music and a nice intimate area outside. He seemed as if he hated life and his job and there was only one other guy at the bar besides us so he certainly wasn't busy by any means. Rolled his eyes at one point while we were ordering. I don't even know where to start. We went on a "show" night but we got there early when they weren't that busy yet. It took at least 20 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. She came back about 10 minutes later and said the margarita machine wasn't working. We ordered chips and dip which came with salsa, queso and chili. Queso tasted watered down, salsa tasted like ketchup and the chili was greasy. When the server finally got ready to take our meal order, she said orders couldn't be modified because it was a show night. So if you wanted to add or remove something from your burger or anything else, they wouldn't do it. I have NEVER heard of this before. We gave up, paid our check and just went outside to wait for the concert and ordered chili dogs. They came on a hamburger bun, hot dog sliced open, shaved beef at the bottom and covered with the same awful chili which I should have expected. We couldn't even eat them. If I ever go to another concert there, we will eat before we go but it will have to be a really good concert for me to walk back into that place! Worst restaurant I've ever been to. read more

Had tickets for King George last night and even paid for the VIP upgrade since it was drizzling out. Tickets said door at 6pm so we got there at 5pm to eat dinner before heading out back. Long story short at 9:45pm no music had started and the bass player of the opening act told a guy in our group that they would probably get started after the band got something to eat around 10pm. Really? They said everything got delayed because of fireworks from Celebrate Roanoke but how about be ready when the fireworks are over. They were over by about 9:10. Or tell everyone early on that it was going to be a late start. We ended up leaving without hearing even one song from the opening act so we definitely didn't see King George. What a waste of time and money. The only reason for any stars at all is because the venue is real nice (if any music ever plays) and my sandwich was good. read more

The food is actually really good. The location is nice. The interior is tastefully done. Its a shame that on the 3 different times we've come, the service is horrible. Our server took ages to do the basics (who do I have to flag down for a water refill?!) and I rarely saw them check in on us. The food took a while to come out considering we only ordered a salad and a seans ribeye sandwich. It was moderately busy but I think they suffer from understaffing. The garage finally allows decent parking in the area but the poor service and limited menu doesn't really beckon you to return. As in life and baseball, three strikes and your out. We were hoping things would improve over time, well that clearly won't happen. Such a shame. Its a lost opportunity. If you enjoy being ignored and waiting forever, stop on by. Otherwise, keep walking there are tons of better choices in Roanoake. read more

Not sure what my husband ordered but, urg.... it looked like a snow cone had it's way with a pint glass and conquered his glands better than a raw lemin would... my drink was foul. Simply, foul. I felt my stomach churning as i sipped it.... I couldn't finish it. It hurt my stomach. Ok, so drinks were bad, food was BEYOND horrendous, service was insanely slow but very friendly. Between the open outdoor area that does NOT have misting fans, regular fans, bad food, terrible nauseating drinks & slow service.... I give that place a shelf life of MAYBE 2 years before they file bankruptcy.... unless of course they take the criticism constructively & utilize it to fix the issues at hand. It is very hard for me to write a bad review because I know this is a new establishment. However... My family and friends were so poorly treated that I can't let this go. We had such a great night until one of the bouncers literally took our game of Jenga off our table as if we were children, in the middle of our game. (Unaware that it's an outside game) Only for him to spill a block into my friends drink and blamed her! We made management aware of the situation and how it was handled. Brittney was very polite and professional. Only to have John (another manager) come over and tell us to leave!! Yes, LEAVE!! Still flabbergasted how this was handled. The efforts to follow social distancing standards were great tol the music started and then I honestly felt like the place was flipping off the standards in defiance. I felt unsafe. Venue is amazing! I have attended a couple shows there and always the same result AMAZING! The food is incredible! Staff and management are on point! Even when it was packed i was still able to get great service from multiple bars located thru out the venue or the cocktail waitresses running around! I hated the Caesar salad it was very...different from what I'd think a basic Caesar salad would be. Since I didn't enjoy it she let me choose something else. I asked for Pinot Noir, given Cab and told same taste. Did not drink, when asked what other wine choices were available, told this was my only choice unless I wanted white. This was our first time here. The night started out great, even thought to myself "maybe I will come back here and try out some more of the drinks". As the band went on a glass was dropped and somebody went to the bar to ask for help cleaning the glass up. The guy at the bar was extremely rude and just kept saying "what? Okay." So we clean up the glass ourselves and 5 minutes later the guy comes up with a broom and dustpan and has words with one of his PAYING customers. He said things like "well if you don't like it get out of my effing establishment". I feel bad for his staff if he is the owner. Our waiter was fabulous and attentive but when management (or someone claiming to be management) comes up and treats his customers like garbage it really puts a damper on the whole night. read more

This was the first time visiting this new restaurant in Roanoke. I got the ElCamino and my wife got the Crispy Yard Bird. My burger looked like it was from a frozen patty. Came out cold and not that enjoyable. My wife's food was good. The appetizer we got the Chips and Dips. Beware of the chili. It is 50% grease and rest is meat. Meat swimming it liquid fat. Chips and fries were very salty. One previous reviewer talked about value and I agree with it. My single patty burger was 9$ and as thin as a drink coaster. Then another 4$ fries on top of that makes it sub par. Atmosphere is great but keep in mind this is a bar/performance stage first and restaurant very distant second. If we were drunk on a late night it probably would have been a different experience but going just for the food was not what we expected from a brand new place. Our family stumbled on to Chopshop for dinner when we came upon the long line at Babe's. If my husband and I had come in for some music and a drink on a busier night or when there was a concert, it probably would have been fun. However, we went on a Sunday night and there was literally one dude working the whole restaurant. He did an awesome job hustling around to help everyone in there and he did provide great service. The menu wasn't as broad as I had expected, but what we got was good. I liked to be wowed by a restaurant and Chopshop was just OK. I had the Buick burger, my son ordered the Havana Grilled Cheese (way out of his box, but he liked it) my other son got the chicken fried ribeye which came with no sides so he ordered broccoli with cheese sauce which was so spicy he couldn't eat it, and my husband got the regular cheese burger (he didn't have anything special to say about it). I'd be willing to come back and check out the nightlife here, but probably won't be back for dinner. read more

Took 25min to get another drink and they weren't busy. My husband got a drink he didn't order because the server didn't listen. He said give me a minute and the server brought him another drink anyway. Additionally when I ask for a LEMON with my drink TWICE and you give me a LIME TWICE you NEED to listen!!!!! I normally do not recommend Resturant's. This post is different. This resturant is down right badarz. The entire setup is unique & a great place to have a night out with friends & family. The food is amazing. We spent several hours there tonight and had a great time. OMG!! The food is fresh from their scratch made kitchen. If you feed your kids & family Mac & Cheese, corn dogs & fast food several times a week cuz it is easy for you. Then your mind & palette needs to open to accept the awesome food made at this place. Do not go here complain and post bad reviews because they did not have something ur not used to. Everything is fresh and top quality, definitely NOT processed like most restaurants. And you can just hang out and have great family time, very unique & special. Oh and the trains, not a eye sore it just adds to the Roanoke atmosphere. Our new favorite spot for sure read more

I'm really not sure why you'd go here to eat unless you're going to a musical event. We've been here twice and the food is barely mediocre. My daughter had the sliders. Two smashed crumpled thin meat sliders with a handful of limp fries. The garbage can nachos were pretty flavorless even with the addition of "steak". The cheese is slightly thicker than water w absolutely no flavor. Use the jalapeños because that's the only flavor you get. Husband and son in law had brats w beer cheese. Same cheese w beer added--thank goodness because without beer, again there is no flavor. I understand it's a BAR but the give-a-$h1+ in the kitchen is non existent. The waitresses are decent and friendly. The drinks are mediocre. I've had a vodka tonic and a Moscow mule and couldn't tell much difference. Stick to beer ( decent list) or wine (clearly a disinterested wine list). The atmosphere is quirky and fun w car theme. Music was pretty good and low enough that we could talk to each other. Wish they'd do a better job with the food. It wouldn't be hard with a little care. read more
