Got in at 2:19, which I understand that they close at 2:30. I just wanted to grab from the grill and leave. I asked for a grilled chicken sandwich. The guy walked out to the buffet, grabbed a slab of teriyaki chicken from the hot foods bar, and made a sandwich out of it... nothing was grilled. It was sweet. It was not the grilled chicken I was expecting. If it was due to me being close to closing time, perhaps he could've told me that. Anyway, check out the picture below. That's not a grilled chicken sandwich. That's teriyaki grilled chicken or whatever sauce they put on it. I was disappointed. I'll still come back- as they have good options. But hopefully management sees this so they can address the situation. If you're not grilling anymore at 2:19, then let us know so we don't get something we are not expecting! If you are a tuna salad fan, I recommend their tuna melt! It comes with a pickle :). Today I visited hoping to order their tuna melt but after a walk around their buffet area I ended up getting a plate. So something to notice, they do not have any signage of price per pound. (Im used to knowing how much Im gonna pay per pound at buffets such as theirs). The buffet has a large variety of foods that range from salads, veggies, chinese food, sushi rolls, and ribs. I noticed their avocado with tomato salad was super popular so I got some it was delicious. I tried the tuna salad, a cold pasta salad, ceasar salad, and their sushi. Actually I kind of went overboard and ended up paying $9.70. I believe the price is okay (not great but not bad for downtown dc). My favorite item from the buffet was the avocado with tomato salad. The Eye Street Grill is convenient and service is fast. This is one of my favorite places downtown because the portions are fair for the price. I would recommend to take your own water bottle cause with the amount you spend with food and if you buy a drink it slowly gets on the pricy side. read more

I just discovered this place, they have an AMAZING breakfast buffet until 10:30, lunch starts at 11 with more selections. Breakfast has denver omelet, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, hard boiled eggs, cheese omelet, kilebasa sausage, fried rice, biscuits, gravy, pork and turkey sausage, fresh fruit, grits, oatmeal, chicken wings, etc. Breakfast is $9.99/lb, lunch 10.99/lb, hot cereal $2.50. This place is really tasty, I can see why it's so popular. The staff are all very friendly and like to get to know their customers. The food is really delicious, especially the sandwiches from the grill but the prices seem to steadily be going up. They have various specials every day that come with a sandwich (bbq, fried fish, cheesesteak, etc.) and fries for under $9 which is a really great deal for the area considering they don't skimp on the fries. I especially like their chicken cheesesteaks. Their breakfast is really good as well and portions are large. They also do not skimp on the bacon which is a plus. I'd tell you how much it is per pound but I always go much over than that. That's not on them, that's on me for not having self control for delicius buffet items. Their grill also has crispy crinkle cut fries, and the burgers/cheesesteaks are pretty good considering the combos for both are under $10. They make a mean grilled cheese sandwich, and there's something about the potato salad - I could live off that stuff. This place has every type of food you could ever dream about: salad, sandwiches, roasted chicken, salmon, Chinese, sushi, fruit bar and more! 4 stars not 5. I'll tell you why. First the good. They are always super fast at least for the checkout. Haven't placed an order, I always do the food bar. Like, I've only had to wait mere seconds, even at 1230 lunch time. The meats are delicious. So tender. Most the stuff I have gotten has always been really good. The bad: EXPENSIVE! Doggon $19.27 for a box of food?....seriously? I mean it's not 5 star food.... I wouldn't even say anything if it was 14-15 bucks. That seems tolerable considering the area. I think 20 is just plain robbery. I have been a couple times and it seems like everytime it gets more expensive. For this reason i won't be returning. P.S. Don't get the Mac and cheese. It's terrible. Taste like....bland..watered down...cheese? There's clearly NO salt. Or really anything besides what taste like water mixed with cheap cheese and bland noodles.
