Bathrooms were not clean. This is an older building and somewhat run down. Overall there was a large selection of choices but nothing was like a "wow" They did have a grill station but even steaks were a lower quality. Between Lins, Kumi and here will drive little further for Lins. read more

It's been a while since I've been here but it's definitely aged in terms of its ambiance. We were in the back rooms that were hot and muggy. Food was... okay for the most part. Steaks felt as if they weren't even cooked on the grill, even so looking at the grill it seemed off. Service was great though. read more

The place was busy but we only had a 12 minute wait time. It was fully stocked with everything and the back staff was on top of the courses making sure to fill them up. Food was very good and a huge variety of soups, rice, sushi and so much more. If you are looking for a quiet place this is not it because of the way they have the tables set up everyone is so close together that you can hear absolutely everyone's conversation. It is to loud. Finally tried chopsticks to check out the rave from friends. It was a buffet that's all. The food area was very clean, our server crystal was very attentive by keeping drinks full and plates bussed. There's plenty of seating. Staff were constantly refilling the servings, the food was hot/cold and labeled. They also have a cook to order grill with a chef for steaks and such. A trip down nostalgia lane! They have tons of food to include steak off the grill! I dont eat carbs and I still found a lot to eat - bourbon chicken, general's chicken, Kung pao chicken, pepper steak, beef with broccoli, carrot salad, fruit and more! We usually go to Asian Star in medical center, but wanted to try something new. Overall, the food was okay, nothing to rant and rave about. Our server, Sunny, was great! Super nice and always made sure our drinks were full. It felt like a Golden Corral inside. What I will rant about is the process in line. You wait in line, pay before you eat, then wait again for them to call your number. Not once did they give us an approximate time. You pay before you eat so even if you change your mind, you've already paid so you can't leave. My family won't return simply for that reason. I understand pre-paying, but maybe after your number is called so that if you decide to go elsewhere, no money lost. read more

I know to some people maybe a buffet isn't for them but I liked this place. My parents loved it growing up and as a kid I wasn't a fan or Asian food but luckily they have kid options like nuggets, pizza, fries, ice cream, jello! So I was happy for that because we took our toddler and baby. I liked that I was able to eat a bit of everything, sure it's a little pricy but if you have a good stomach I think it's worth it. We've driven by @chopsticksbuffetsa a few times, and it has caught Dad's eye. Hubby and Dad had been there together before. Today, I joined them for lunch. I guess you can't beat all you can eat for less than $13. We had the Agua frescas to drink. Dad got 3 plates of food and 2 soups. This is where Dad seems to have a bottomless pit. If I can give a zero rating to this place, I would food here has never cooked right all the fish that you eat. Here is either overcooked or not cooked well feel like somebody needs to investigate this area because the silverware the knives for the steaks you get are always dirty steaks here are not even that good there's no flavor. Right when you enter the door they are there to take your " order" aka how many people are getting buffet and what age group and take your order for your drinks whether it be soda, bar or water and you pay right there. The ambiance is a do it yourself. Lol. The server accidentally made a mistake and called my daughter a sir. Plus, she kept rushing to finish eating as she was way too eager to take our plates away when we clearly were taking our time. She also kept taking my kids half drinking cups and giving them new ones. I felt like we were speed eating and drinking. She kept talking to the hub almost every time she kept coming over. Food quality isn't the best nor the worst. It's ok. For 4 adults and 2 drinks is over 61.00... my kids definitely got their monies worth. In my opinion it isn't a 5 star. Some pretty good Chinese food and for a great price! It's been a VERY long time since I've been to a buffet and wasn't exactly impressed with the couple I'd been too, but Chopsticks was pretty good! We weren't sure what to expect the interior to look like, but it wasn't what either of us was expecting. But not in a bad way! We were greeted by a really cool dragon relief just inside the entryway past the prepay counter and one of the walls above the buffet area was covered in hanzi, and restaurant as a whole was huge with several kind servers keeping drinks topped off, taking away finished plates, and keeping the restaurant in immaculate condition. The buffet area itself was at least double the size of what I'd expected and with so many different options. Servers were constantly refilling the serving stations and keeping them clean, and you could watch the food being prepared towards the back of the house over a half wall as you served yourself which was pretty neat. There was a bar for sushi, salad, dessert, ice cream, and a couple more for both standard and more unique Asian food dishes. We also thought it was great that they included quite a bit of options for those not fond of Chinese food, including both Mexican and American dishes, such as quesadillas and pizza. Though I skipped those options this time around, I would not oppose trying them on a return visit. I selected several different dishes to taste so I will list them all below at the end of my review so you can get a solid idea of what to expect, but I think my favorite dishes were the Walnut Shrimp, Pepper Steak, and Fried Oreo. The Walnut Shrimp, however, was so delicious I went back for another small serving after my initial sample. The quality ranged from 'just okay' to 'really good' but there was nothing we tried that we considered gross or unappetizing. It was all tasty for the most part and gave us an opportunity to try things that we might normally not have. I would like to mention that this probably isn't the best place to go for those with mobility issues, at least solo. The buffet is up on an elevated platform of about two or three steps, and I just kept thinking that if I'd come here a couple months prior when I was moving around with a knee scooter and crutches it would have put a damper on my experience since I was unaware prior to this trip. Be sure to bring someone with you so you can try out everything! My fiancé and I had a really fun experience and can finally say we understand why we'll frequently see lines out the entrance. I'd highly recommend checking to see their busy hours before you go so you can miss the crowd, but for the little you spend for such good quality it's worth it even if it is a little crowded. Take some friends and go! You'll have a good time! We went the weekend after Christmas right around 3pm. Soo crowded! There was a wait. And it was hard to even walk around, it was so peopley. Decor was nice and buffets seemed to be well maintained. Our Server was very good! Super attentive, treated us like we were her only customers and was very sweet to the kids in our party. Food was just ok, not very hot and I chose vegetable dishes and items I didn't think kids would like to eat/touch. I had a teriyaki chicken skewer, and it was tasty. Some food items lacked a bit of flavor, and some (honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken, and a few others) food items that were battered were on the soggy side, which was disappointing. The chairs could use some cleaning, as all 12 chairs had sticky residue on them (there were 13 of us). Parking was a bit chaotic. Would we be back? There were pretty good quality foods to choose from. Food was good nothing I couldn't complain about except some of the flavors and the ribs they had. They were good but had alot of fat. I used to LOVE this place as a kid but now looking at it, I regret it. First the line is super long and it's almost a 2 HOUR WAIT just for a way worse experience. The staff is pretty ok and they help when needed but the food is just vulgar. It doesn't even look appealing or appetizing, and most of the food looks really processed. The is only 2 things that might even be edible to me at least. They make you pay upfront and ask for your drinks once you're seated they immediately give you your drink. Then you go to the buffet that looks really ran through. The food is fresh kinda and most of it isn't even that great. You think trying new things is a good thing but really you go home full and feel like you're gonna throw up your insides. This was the worst Chinese buffet I've been to in San Antonio. Came here last night for Father's Day. It was packed with people, about 15-30 minutes wait time. For a packed buffet, I expect hot fresh food. The only food I liked were the lemon chicken, steak from the bbq grill, macaroni cheese, and fried oreos. Pretty much all their food is luke-warm or cold and overcooked. Seriously, how are the mash potatoes cold?? None of the meats were juicy, just dry. The only exception was the steak from the grill, which was delicious. It took forever for the server to provide us forks and our beverages. They were good at refilling it though. There were no forks or knives in the caddies around the buffet. I recommend this buffet to not overcook the meat, put out hot plates, look into their heatlamps, and start calling people on the waitlist by phone if they are not in the lobby. read more

I went out with my family and my friend's family. Our party consisted of 4 parents and 4 kids. When the suggestion of a Chinese buffet came up, I cringed. I'm usually not an Asian buffet person. Boy, I was wrong. This place was great, and the prices were very, VERY decent. When I saw the Yelp rating (after I ate there), it was 3.5 stars. Valentines day 11AM 2025. Not good. Last time we go. There are better buffets around. Maybe its the demographics but most of the food is poor quality, poorly cooked and poorly seasoned. We paid extra for "Valentines Seafood". No special "seafood" to be found. Regular buffet "seafood" Calimari (Cisco) shouldn't be underbaked and taste like tarragon. Pork ribs (Cisco) shouldnt be overbaked and taste like baking soda (old way to tenderize cheap grade meat) Breaded shrimp (Cisco) shouldnt be hard, flat and dry. Fried chicken (Cisco) shouldnt be small, dried and overcooked. Egg rolls (who knows?) had gross weird taste. We left feeling unappreciated. They dont even have any baked goods, bread, cookies, nuttin. On top of the poor food, they need to work on communication skills. As pedestrian as a San Antonio "chinese" buffet can be. First, this isn't really a chinese restaurant (buffet). While the some selections have an asian flair this is definitely an American buffet. The price was reasonable, the restaurant was clean, the food was hot, and I didn't end up with a completely inedible dish as is sometimes the case at this type of establishment. Manage your expectations and choose carefully at the buffet table and you will probably be ok. Don't experiment here. read more

So we paid and she gave us attitude when we asked " how long is the wait" we didn't even get an answer.
