Mapo Tofu, one order but they brought up two types, very grateful for them. One dry style, one was vegetarian and more saucy.

Staff was kind and helped us serve the items we ordered, they also helped us box it up to go. The food was prepared quickly but perfectly cooked still. A bit cluttered inside, but still clean. Convenient parking also available on the side of the building. It's sometimes hard to find good Chinese food in monterey. Only other note is that the wonton soup could have had more veggies. Overall would definitely return :)

Was supposed to eat somewhere else but when we passed by this restaurant and saw that there's a big parking area nearby, we decided to try this place instead and we did not regret it. The lady owner was very hands on, accommodating and efficient. The service was excellent. We specifically liked the chow mien, general chicken and mixed veggies with shrimp; it was very flavorful. For dessert, we had the sesame balls and there's complimentary fortune cookies. We enjoyed our dinner that evening.

Staff was so very friendly,we were quickly seated. Place was very cute and decorated in the classic authentic Asian theme. The food was very delicious and serving amounts were more than enough for several servings. Prices were reasonably for the kind of food for the area comparison. We will be back for more items we wanted to try in the future.

Food was absolutely amazing! Every dish we had was full of flavor and cooked very well. The service was also quick and very friendly we even got to learn some Chinese while being there!

Just for refrence how many times I called, and no answer. This was not including my boyfriend's phone or the hotel phone.

This is actually the most disgusting vile Chinese food I have ever tasted in my life. The food was actually tasteless, aside from the salt and pepper short ribs which had so much salt. It's completely inedible and there's literally just no flavor. I paid $117 for this and got the rice, chow fun, beef and green beans, short pepper ribs and pot stickers. My boyfriend asked for extra sweet and sour and she asked what we needed it for which was weird and was making remarks about how we didn't get an appetizer(I mean we did but what a weird thing to say) and on top of it we've been calling for 30 min to get a new order or our money back and it's like the line is off so we can't reach anyone! We are out of town and this just ruined my night. What a bummer.

General Chicken, House Chow Mein, ...Mongolian beef? So absolutely yummy. I saw a nasty review about "service." Ummm. I have never received "good service" in a four star Chinese restaurant. Mama ain't got time for that. Order your food and go.

Fresh, fresh vegetables! What a charming restaurant. And, Omg the food came super fast and the dishes were all tasty. We ordered 4 dishes and they each were mouthwatering. I will come back for Chinese next time I am in Monterey!

I came here to meet a group of ladies on a rainy Sunday evening. We were seated upstairs, which made for a more intimate and private setting. The interior was very cute with a nice Christmas tree still up. There was a pretty plant with poinsettia displayed on the table, which had a tablecloth with fruit all over it. First, we were served soup, where small crispy noodles were poured all over it. In the soup, there was shrimp, chicken, and celery. I really enjoyed the tastiness of the crunchy ingredient. The shrimp, chicken, and veggies were fresh and tasty. Then there was a plate of white, green and yellow dumplings with pork inside. The filling was satisfyingly juicy and quite flavorful. The skin was also just the right consistency. We also had House Special Chow Mein, which came with chicken, shrimp, beef, onion, and an assortment of other vegetables. The noodles were cooked perfectly and all the meat was delicious! Green beans with onion were pretty good. It was well seasoned and full of flavor. There was a pork dish that was cooked with celery and an abundance of red peppers and other spices. This was mouthwatering and surprisingly not as spicy as it looked. Spicy fish was decent - tender and succulent, and if it wasn't scooped with the sauce, it actually wasn't that spicy. The crispy shrimp with roasted walnuts were a bit of a disappointment. The shrimp was juicy and crispy, with a yummy mayonnaise-based sauce, however, there was very little of it overall and only a few walnuts. Service was attentive and friendly. I would most likely not return because I have such high standards when it comes to Chinese food and this place did not really impress me.

My daughter and I started with the calamari, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I had the sea bass, easily one of the best I've had in a long time. Whenever I see sea bass on a menu, I never pass it up, and I have to say Flying Fish Grill's version is now one of my all-time favorites. My daughter's seafood pasta was equally impressive, packed with fresh seafood and wonderful flavor. Thank you to the entire team for a memorable dining experience. We can't wait to come back!

Salmon Salad - Solid set of lettuce and a generous portion of fresh salmon, highly recommend if you like fresh greens + salmon 4. Side Salad - Not only a solid serving of greens, but cherry tomatoes, broccoli, and a bunch of other nice finds completed the salad Room for improvement: 1. Chirashi - Rice was bland and the cuts of fish were 1/4" thick, which is not a great way to enjoy sashimi 2. Sushi Dinner - Overall, solid, except for the hamachi. It was rancid. I hope this was a one off. NOTE - The CA Roll and other fish were fine, but the hamachi had gone bad Overall, I'd go back, but focus on the hot food.

There's a nice outdoor bar area where you can get drinks and appetizers while waiting for your seat. Slow cooked pork belly : 20/10 must try! The crispy outside texture was perfect and the charcoal taste complemented the pork belly fat really well. Szechuan pork ribs: 7/10 Not bad, but the Szechuan flavor lacked and it tasted more like Sriracha. Half butterfish and half ahi tuna dish: 8/10 the sauces were PHENOMENAL!! I'm going to need to get their recipe for their fragrant herbaceous green sauce and the coconutty umami white sauce. The butterfish had a bit of lingering fishiness but the texture was nice with a carmelized crust and soft insides. The ahi tuna was to be expected. Watch out for the spicy wasabi brown sauce! Dark chocolate raspberry molten lava cake: 8/10 I love lava cakes and they gave us an extra cup of dark chocolate to pour on top. I wish the raspberry flavor tasted more natural though. We were looking for some lighter eats and Edwin's provides some great options there. Service was improved and very welcoming (I think last time they hadn't been open long). Once again we had the Lumpia-style Crispy Rolls and the Crispy Chicken Strips, and again they were delicious. My wife also had the Apple Salad which was also very good. I chose the Singapore Chili Prawns, which was not overly spicy, and very flavorful with perfectly cooked shrimp. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass. We were only going to have a quick meal and then head back to the hotel to relax, but it turned out to Open Mike night (basically Karaoke). The two hosts were engaging and good singers, so we stuck around as they were taking requests and had an appreciation for 80's music. Eventually other patrons and singers arrived, and we ended up sticking around for 2 hours. It was a lot of fun, and the manager brought us a couple of Coconut Macaroons on the house, that were yummy. One piece of constructive criticism for the owners is that they need to upgrade the space to give it more of a tropical resort vibe, which would make it a really unique option in Carmel along with the menu. The space as is, is a good foundation. Just a few new light fixtures and some larger plants would create a really cool space. As an example, they should look at pictures of Khaluna in Minneapolis.

Menu looked promising and from what I smelt, it was gonna be a good experience. Not sure if they're understaffed but I waited for almost 10 minutes to be seated. I think he was a new guy but no water was given and he wasn't attentive to anyone. Dexter had to step in to take my order. During my time there, I had noticed that they bus the tables LONG after the former customers leave, which led to more people getting delayed in sitting, which was super confusing to watch. The food was genuinely good but the overall experience just overshadows it and I don't know if I'll be back.

The restaurant is located on the lowest level of the Carmel Plaza, I really loved the location because there are plenty of places to park right around there. Between the two of us, we shared: - Miso cacio e pepe: we came specifically for this! It's one of their most well known dishes, and I highly highly recommend! So creamy and savory, and the mafaldine pasta has such a nice texture, the ruffled edges hold on to sauce perfectly. We also added a bit of gochujang that came with the bibimbap and it was so good with some spice. - Dolsot bibimbap: my husband's favorite Korean dish so of course we had to get it! An excellent variety of veggies, which was nice since we barely got any veg on vacation. The kalbi beef was so juicy and delicious, and not overcooked. - Matcha Tiramisu: absolute must get, so unique. The cake layers were soaked in matcha, and topped off with some fresh fruit. - Grapefruit sake spritz: I was on the fence between this cocktail and the yuzu champagne spritz. Our waitress said that the grapefruit spritz was much less sweet, and I am so glad I decided to go with that option! It was the perfect amount of sweetness, not overwhelming. Overall, my husband and I agreed that the matcha tiramisu was the best bite either of us had all weekend!
