Oh, Chopt. I really love you, but you keep playing games with my heart. And by my heart, I mean my salad. And even after everything you've done to me, I still keep coming back for one reason and one reason alone. No, it is not the salad chopper man with the tattoos who told me I was beautiful. It's the green goddess salad dressing. I frequently order from Chopt's app because 1) I love their salad (and dressing) and 2) it's so convenient to skip the line by ordering ahead, running in, grabbing your order and moving on with your day. However, every time I order from their app, there is a 100% chance they will get something wrong. Once they mixed in the wrong salad dressing (wouldn't have been a big deal except it was a dairy based dressing I cannot enjoy). Once they forgot to include my dressing altogether. Various toppings I looked forward to (and paid for) have been omitted, etc. Perhaps I should have learned my lesson and started checking my order before driving off, but I didn't, and tonight's snafu takes the cake. After a few month hiatus after my last disappointment with you, I went out on a limb and I ordered a chicken tinga grain bowl on the app. I picked it up and raced home to enjoy my meal. Opened the lid and realized there was NO quinoa (that's the grain part of the grain bowl) and NO CHICKEN TINGA (that's the chicken tinga part of the chicken tinga grain bowl). What on earth? Like always, I checked my order receipt to make sure I wasn't crazy and that Chopt didn't just do me dirty AGAIN. They did. I live 20 minutes away, so I was not going to drive back. Instead, I sadly consumed my bowl of lettuce (okay there was also dressing and a few toppings but not the two key components). Chopt, I think our relationship ends here - on the app at least. I could order inside on a day I have time to wait in line between middle-aged men insisting on pointing over the sneeze guard glass at their chosen ingredients with hook fingers, but that kind of time doesn't come very often these days. Chapel Hill Fordham rd location has one of the rudest managers/supervisors I have ever seen. We respect the masks, the social distancing, and the glass dividers. Some people need to step up to hear people ask questions. The manager then yells to tell us to back up and make a scene. Because my wife is hard of hearing. I had heard really good things about this place and so when I friend suggested it, I jumped on the chance to go. I got the Santa Fe salad without any meat and it was $9.50. I thought it was cool to see them "chop" up all the vegetables for the salad though it was kind of unnecessary because everything was already in small pieces. I was really disappointed in this salad because it was seriously lacking in flavor and I feel like then chopping everything into tiny pieces made the lettuce lose it's crunch. For the price I feel like I could have gotten a better salad elsewhere. The bread that came with the salad was good though. read more

Really enjoy going to Chopt! The salads are always good. My personal favorite is the kebab cobb while my boyfriend loves the classic cobb. The salads are on the pricier side for "fast food", but the portions are big and you know you're getting quality food, so I don't mind spending the $10-12 per salad. Love the salad. Sometimes we do takeout and as my husband and I get the same style salad but different dressings as well as different cheeses it would be nice if they had a way to mark them. I loved the diversity of options available at Chopt. I could hardly make up my mind of what I wanted to order, and me a last minute decision to order the Mediterranean Falafel. With kale, cabbage, celery, feta, and falafel, it was delicious! The falafel was not super tasty as I'm guessing it was made awhile ago and tasted a bit like the inside of the refrigerator, but beyond that the salad was great! Pricey though. read more

Finally-a Chopt in the Triangle!! After years in DC with weekly Chopt visits, I think I cried when I saw the sign come up in Chapel Hill. While its not the least expensive option ($10-$15 for a salad), the size makes it worth it-you can easily have the salad turn into 2 meals with its size. Also its the healthiest option for lunch by far in the South. I visit this location at least once a week and never have any problems. The staff are always super helpful and patient with Chopt newbies (it can definitely be overwhelming!). Plus the bread is from local bakery La Farm-c'est magnifique! read more

So once I paid for my food I went and sat down. I started to realize that everyone else were carrying there salad to their table. I go up and ask if my salad was ready. Where I was then told well you walked away so we didn't know what to do...well i don't know maybe say ma'am we need you over to fix your salad. So once my salad was put back in the line to be made. The "chopper" of the salad was extremely rude and made comments of why my salad was messed up and that it was my fault. Once I got my salad back to the table and began to eat there was rock hard avocados with rotted pieces of lettuce. This place is an overpriced wannabe kardashian salad place. Chopt has made me sad every time. I don't mind paying for a salad, but this place is really $$$$ and it doesn't seem like any of the ingredients are mixed in. Also, it's really stressful on the line. I feel rushed every time I'm there. I hope they can begin to offer a smaller option too because the salads are huge and I end up throwing it away. Upon moving from Downtown Chicago and managing a sweetgreen(which is exactly the same concept but better and way busier) I was excited to try Chopt and to have another amazing salad place. I was terribly disappointed the first time I went, the staff was rude, talked down to me, and acted as if I was a bother to them. I decided to try to give them a second chance and was even more disappointed, I came in to order for my family and when I walked in the employees did not even engage me for 4 minutes and when I said hello they turned and gave me a nasty look, I was trying to order and the employee talked over me, interrupted me every time I tried to answer what he was asking me. I finished ordering for my family and started to order mine but I wanted to make a few changes the employee looked at me and said "damn you're doing too much right now" .......... I'm sorry that I wanted to add quinoa to a salad sorry for coming in and being a customer, they prompted me down to the cashier before I was finished telling them what I wanted and when I got home I had the wrong dressing and missing ingredients. The third and FINAL time I'll ever go there, I called ahead to see if they took Apple Pay(they do not) the cashier answered and said SHE DIDN'T KNOW and the manager was very very busy with a huge rush and to call back in an HOUR, how does your cashier not know the type of payment you accept? So I drive all the way there, no rush there was 4 people in line when I walked in just to get told they don't accept Apple Pay. I've wasted enough time on this place and will no longer waste anymore, pretty sad because the salads aren't bad. I think you need a change of management and staff, to get it together. read more

I love chopped salads, especially when I pick the ingredients. They must have read the reviews because see of the the the issues mentioned were specifically addresses, including how chopped and pint of dressing. After chopping the guy asked if he should take another pass, and after dressing, tilted vile to show me and asked if I wanted more. Yes to both. My salad was fresh, flavorful and delicious. The person helpings was very nice but there were a lot of people standing around when they could have been helping. read more

I have usually been very pleased at Chopt, but when I began to eat my Mexicali Vegan salad at home I had to remove several pieces of lettuce that had turned brown and several of the hard cores of the lettuce. This was annoying, especially for a $10 salad that no longer offers avocado for protein unless you pay extra. Very few black beans or anything other than salad mix. read more

Our salads were fresh & many ingredients locally sourced. We loved that part but It was a bit confusing to order & a large number of salad prep people behind the counter were relatively impatient as we struggled to figure out what & how to order from the multitude of ingredients. It was important to my party of 3 to avoid the many hot & spicy ingredients. We had to shout over the loud unusual music to order & understand workers as they glared at us. Salads averaged $10-$12 and were good but we recommend you get them to go to escape the noise. Wallpaper was cute. read more

Worst. service. ever. Seriously, I can get on board with masks and social distancing to a certain degree but this establishment took it to a point that was beyond annoying and likely ILLEGAL! My husband and I entered with masks as requested. They immediately yelled at us for not "social distancing" even though we came in together. Then they yelled at us for standing too close to their mammoth plexiglass. I asked for a cup of water and they said they couldn't give it to me due to safety. Really? It's a restaurant! So, I had to buy an overpriced bottle of water. Then they rudely refused to take our cash! Ugh! So much for my legal tender. Then I asked to use the restroom. First they said yes and then half way there they stopped me and said they were closed due to Covid safety. How can you even be open?! No seating inside, at all, so we had to sit out in the heat of the sun. Safety does NOT mean depriving you of water and a bathroom, and does not mean you to stand next to your spouse!!! I have to say this was one of the best salads I've ever had. I love how it's made in front of you and how they chop it in front of you. Good experience. I had the Mexican street corn Caesar and it was delish! I love how big it is and it actually fills you up. I will go back definitely and it will be soon. Just lost a loyal (maybe too loyal) customer. Not sure in what world 8:53pm translates into 9:00pm, however it's clear that this location makes its own rules. After racing from South Durham, I arrive at Chopt 8 minutes before close. As I approach the door, an employee lets out a customer (with food in tow) then proceeds to lock the door upon their exit. Another employee at the chopping station points to his watch motioning & then shrugs. I then return to my car to call the restaurant. At 8:55pm the manager picks up and blatantly lies, mentioning they had to close early due to an 'issue' - what issue could've occurred seconds after a patron leaves (again, with food) yet, before closing is beyond me. Once I called the manager on the lie, he then offer to 'get me a salad' - huh?...some issue. For a customer averaging $50 a week at this location and well recognized by the staff, I expected way more. Unacceptable service Chopt @ Chapel Hill. I wonder if your owner knows you're cheating them out of revenue. I surely will never spend a penny here again. read more

Overall the salads were average. They put way too much dressing on the salads. Best part of the meal was the selection of beverages and teas. Unless you want the salad chopped very small you will need to tell them up front. Salads are a bit expensive. read more
