I really love Chopt and there aren't many good salad places around. I go a lot for lunch but I've noticed increasingly that my salads have old, discolored lettuce in them. I order online before hand so usually don't notice until I am back in the office. Its pretty disappointing and frankly a little gross. Saw this place while driving through Friendly Center and decided to try it out. Glad I did! I created my own salad and it was tasty. Everything is super fresh, you're able to sample any dressing you'd like, and everyone is super friendly. The only reasons I didn't give 5 stars is because the prices could be a tad more reasonable but for some $10 for salad or wrap is fair. As a college student, I'd like a discount ;) Secondly, the layout is nice and the customer service was great, but I came at a slow time, if they were to get busy I'm positive it would be a nightmare and you'd be waiting for a while. Other than that, great new addition to Greensboro! We need more healthy options like this. read more

Chopt is a new salad spot located in the friendly center. I ordered the chicken tinga bowl. It was good, however they didn't put enough avocado, and the bread they gave as the side was very stale. The workers were a little rude, but it was also very busy so I can understand their frustration. read more

Tonight was our first night at Chopt. The salads were were tasty and filling but the service was a little lacking. The ordering process needs to be a little more clear especially when someone is ordering a Customer Craft salad. Tonight there was somewhat of a traffic jam at the beginning of the counter with people jumping ahead of others depending on where their server was in the process. And one of the servers seemed less than patient to a customer who has never been there before. Chopt has only been open a few weeks here so there will be a lot of first timers. Overall, the food was good and the restaurant was clean but the staff could use a little more training, maybe even taking a little walk down to Pieology to see their process of assembling their custom pizzas. read more

Just OK. It's the same thing they do at Subway: Throw a bunch of ingredients into a bowl and chop it all up. The Ingredients are better, and there's more selection, but they tend to all blend together. Reminded me of Chipotle for salads. I love a good salad but this was nothing special. Lots of options but in the end just OK. Plenty of help but they appeared to not be very organized and were in each others way. We had to wait before we were acknowledged so I would really hate to go there when they were busy. This was around 7 PM or so and only two other people there. Staff was not at all friendly and had to go in the back and restock a few things. Very nice facility with good potential but needs some work on service. I'm giving my rating in the context of the nature of this business. This is a counter service chain featuring a variety of salads, bowls and wraps. The menu has good creative choices. Ingredients are fresh, tasty and appear to be high quality. A board on the wall lists the farms, bakeries, etc. from which their products are sourced. The staff members were helpful and friendly. Based on the line to order, and the number of people eating, this place is very popular at this point. Servings were more than ample, and for what you get the prices are reasonable. This was my first time at Chopt after being recommended by many of my friends. Not sure if I caught them on a bad day or what but i don't see what all my friends love about this place. I got the Asian crunch salad with no grape tomatoes and added grilled chicken, cucumbers and feta cheese. First off, there was no avocado currently chopped up, I told her I could wait for it, and if need be I would slice it up myself (because I mean, I was already paying for it). She took 10 minutes to bring me the unsliced avocado, and it was VERY hard. I couldn't even slice it, I went to ask for a new one and she told me all of them were like that. So unfortunately I didn't have any avocado with my salad. On top of the the chicken, which was extra, must've been almost gone because there was only small shreds instead of the chunks of chicken. The salad was overall very eh and not worth my $13. I would say the portion size was pretty large, that's the only pro about this place. read more

New restaurant in town; solo dining; so my mission to check it out yesterday was accomplished. I went around 830 pm. The restaurant had a few patrons dining inside. I was delighted to see the clean space with white and neutral colors. I was not rushed to place my order. While I perused the menu, the Manager on duty was giving a mini training session to the staff. The young lady who helped me was very pleasant. The setup is similar to Pieology. Option 1 is to order one of their salads or option 2 is to customize your own salad for $7.99 (meat is extra). I went with the latter and went with a traditional type salad. I had spinach and romain mix, cucumber, tomato, egg, and cranberry. They then ring you up (little awkward because the young lady really didn't know where to place my salad as she pulled a glove off to ring me up; so she held it in the air until we finished the transaction). Next, you proceed down the assembly line to the dressing station. If you get overwhelmed easily, study the menu in advance. I went with good ol' ranch. I asked for a light ranch but they did not have it. I overheard another cashier telling her customer she could try a dressing or two. I wish I was given that option. Oh well. She did ask me if I wanted my dressy light, normal, or heavy. She squeezed it in the salad and proceeded to chop away. I did forget to mention I also had grilled chicken for $2.99 added. $11 and some chang later, I had a huge bowl of green goodness. I was pleasantly surprised at how much salad you get. I was a little disappointed with the drinks but I get it. There is no soda machine. Instead, you have 3 different tea options and 1 lemonade option. This is healthier for sure. They also had canned drinks like the San Pellegrino's. I am clean eating so I went with water. I opted to sit outside (outside is within earshot of the beautiful music coming from the wine bar next door). I took my first bite of this massive salad and I was...not impressed. It looked appetizing but lesson to all...ADD SEASONING. I assume they dont seasion the chicken to keep it healthier so I went back inside and found a few salt and pepper shakers. They helped but only so much. Since it was so much salad, it was hard to mix it up well enough. I decided to bring it home and today I was able to season it to my liking. Still would prefer a seasoned piece of meat but maybe I chose the wrong chicken option. I will come back and try a wrap next (seasoned, of course). read more

I grew up eating chopt in DC and was so happy to find that there was a new greensboro location after our wedding. The staff was so nice and the atmosphere was A+. Truly the most beautiful Chopt I have been to (and I've been to a LOT). They were super fast and had no problem giving me all my salad dressings. Pro tip for those who haven't been to chopt- get your dressings on the side! The portions are large and that way the lettuce doesn't wilt and you can eat the next day. :) read more

You walk in, people surfing on vegetables, nice bright colors. You look at the menu and there's a wide variety. The worker asks what you want and looks like she doesn't want to be there. They're quiet and not the best service. There's not a wide variety of side or drink options. Only chips or dessert. The salad, however, is great. Tastes good but not the best service. read more

I visited Chopt today for the first time and I must say that it was awesome. From the moment you walk in you notice the bright interior, simplistic yet modern decor. The staff is AMAZING!! We had the chance to work with TaMarcus. His customer service is over and beyond. Really makes you feel welcome and offers suggestions with a smile. Great vegetarian and vegan options. Huge salads: a little pricey but big enough to share or save half for later. Some of the vegetables are spicy, which I love, but they aren't child friendly (for example, the sweet potatoes). Luckily the tomato soup is a big hit with my child. Service is great but sometimes inconsistent (one server will offer bread and/or a bag while another won't, for instance) but employees have always been accommodating of requests. My daughter & boyfriend were in line ordering. I walked up to join them with no one in line behind me. They manager was working on something with the bank card rejecting payment. I offered to pay for their order along with ours. In the meantime, my husband joined us in line, then other got in line behind us. My husband and I proceeded to give our order and the manager told us we would have to go to the end of line. She didn't look up to see we had been standing there before the others walked up. She was dismissive of any reply I had to offer and wouldn't listen. I then told her we had been waiting, but she didn't look up to see us. She loosely apologized, but wouldn't take responsibility.
