From Carlos meeting us at the door and welcoming us; to Brazil serving us some of the most perfectly grilled meats you can imagine! Carlos was never far away, ensuring perfect service. Brazil was at our table often offering up still another choice of protein! The bread seemed fresh from the oven; the rice and beans were spot on. They have an oil/pesto for your bread and steak that was ridiculous and I wish I could have brought a jar home! An absolutely delicious, gem of a place in NJ! My dad and I went to eat there before a show I did in Hackensack and we were more than pleasantly surprised. It is a very classy environment with a really authentic Argentinian feel. Our waiter, Carlos, more than made the experience for us. Decided to try Choripan after reading the pleasant reviews. They have valet parking (on Saturday they did, at least.) the space is open and welcoming. The smell hits you as soon as you walk in and you begin to feel you made the right choice. Our server, Gustavo, was super friendly and nice. I had the rodizio and the two others had a parillada. Everything was cooked as ordered and very tasty. I was pleased when I saw they had sweetbreads. The rodizio had about 5 or 6 offerings and comes with two sides. It is $35 and a pretty good deal. However, the star of any rodizio is always the picanha. They held off until the very end and only brought one piece over. The parillada is $40 and also comes with two sides and feeds 2. The food here is great, we all had the all you can eat rodizio and each of the meats that was brought to the table was delicious. There were ten different meats, Steak in a garlic sauce, skirt steak, sausage, chicken in homemade teriyaki sauce, pork loin, bacon wrapped turkey, beef kabob, and a flank steak. Each were cooked amazingly and great, just slightly in the under season side.I wished they had grilled pineapples but with a selections like that we barely had enough room to have seconds of more than one of them. The meat bearer was on point, bringing the next selection just as we were finishing the last. The sides are included in the all you can eat price of $35, they are good but they were not spectacular, house salad, fries, mashed potatoes, and rice and beans. My only complaint is the staffing; they are understaffed. The whole place was fully packed the whole time we were there and a very large party was entering as we were leaving, but they only had one valet that night, there were two birthdays that night and the big party would have been reservations, so the owner would have known how busy they were going to be and should of hired more staff for the night. You will read other reviews and everyone will mention Carlos as their waiter, because he was the only waiter. A full house and a minimal crew ran it. While they were nice and professional, they were not able to as attentive as you can feel they would have liked. Best rodizio I have ever had. On a busy night, the service was attentive and pleasant. Great people, great fun, and outstanding food. The skirt steak was awesome. The potato salad for one of the two sides you get with your meal is the perfect compliment to the meats. I'm Italian, and I will say the fried calamari might be the best I've ever had. Aside from the food CARLOS was friendly, funny and gave us all the right advice on what food we would enjoy the most. By the time we were eating dessert I was advised by my mom and step father that we will be coming back here in a few weeks. I live in Hackensack but they plan on coming back up from woodland park just to come here again. The incredible food makes you enjoy the dinner but being treated the way we were by Carlos and the staffwill keep us coming back again and again. The food seems high quality and very healthy, yet tasty. They start you off with a complementary toasted bread and butter. We ordered the seafood w rice aka paella and the American BBQ set for 2 for the 3 of us. The portions were so big we hardly made a dent in the paella and couldn't finish the BBQ. Choripan is an all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse. This was my first time coming here, for a wedding celebration. I like how cozy and homey it felt here! The staff was very pleasant including the waiter who attended us who went by the name of Carlos. The food was delicious, the bread and the dipping sauce fantastic!!! They do not serve alcohol! However, this is a BYOB(Bring your own booze) restaurant. Love it! Additionally, the amount of food that is brought out is so much, you must come with a good appetite! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that we order a platter of meat, a platter of seafood and paella. When we got our food there was the two platters and a lobster meat platter. No paella. When we told home we didn't order it he made it seem like there was no other option but for us to keep it. He said it would take to long to make the paella. Which in hind sight We should have not let him push us into keeping it. Why would we order a meat platter and seafood platter and then another platter that costed $60 of pieces from both platters??
