Really cool place in downtown Ashville with awesome vibes and very friendly staff and great service. The restaurant was right behind our hotel and we needed lunch on a week day. We got seated outside immediately. The weather was nice so outside was perfect. I did nit see any heaters outside so may be outside is only for good weathers. The place is very dog friendly and has a separate dog menu as well. We ordered burger and chicken sandwich. The food came outside at the right temperature. The taste was nice. The beers were very nice. But availed all a very friendly staff and a great southern hospitality. I would come back here again.

Twisted Laurel in Downtown Asheville has been on my list to visit for a while. During the aftermath of Helene, I closely followed what was going on and the restaurant and businesses that stepped up to help. Twisted Laurel was one of the restaurants that provided free hot meals. There is an outside patio and inside seating but with the heat I chose to eat inside. Service was a little slow as my waitress was also the bartender. She was hustling and I wasn't in a hurry. It worked out well as I wanted to linger during the thunderstorm warning. It filled up inside so I didn't get to see all the artwork on the walls but I liked what I did get to see. I went with the white pizza and got it without onions. The pizza was really good and I managed to finish the whole thing. I was happy with my food and the experience here and this will be somewhere I will return to again.

Ok so the experience itself was chaotic, and very waterlogged. We brought our dog and were sitting outside when it started to downpour. Our server, Daniel, was so great at moving us to a more covered area and bringing everything to us. It was still wet, though vastly improved. We ordered a small pot of coffee and a pesto chicken personal pizza to split. It was DELICIOUS! They also have a dog menu, which is really cute, though we didn't order anything off of there. They brought out a bowl of water for the pup though, and I just felt like they were so kind and accommodating! Service was fast, food was good. If I lived here I'd certainly make this a regular hangout spot!

Our server was great! Food was amazing. Highly recommend the twisted fries and onion rings alongside the ranch and spicy aioli! Burger was super juicy and cheesesteak was meaty and cheesy

Short rib special

Wow. Just wow. I have walked by Twisted Laurel on many of my trips into town, and noticed it is always busy. Now I know why. Their chef knocks it out of the park. Very pleasant dining room with a huge patio (I'll be back in warmer weather). Despite being almost full the noise level was reasonable. Likely in part due to the ceiling having exposed floor joists for the upstairs that trap sound instead of reflecting it. The host quickly walked me to my table, and my server arrived as I was settling in. Lovely young lady, both knowledgeable and personable. I asked for a beer recommendation (I prefer amber and red ales) and she suggested a local Gaelic ale from Highland brewing. A perfect fit for my taste. It was part of Asheville's Restaurant Week, so even though I walked in with my heart set on the hanger steak from their online menu, I quickly switched gears and opted for the Short Rib on their specials menu. I started with a Greek salad that was wonderful, they have a delightfully heavy hand with the feta and olives, and the dressing was a perfect match. The short rib was beyond great - can I give more than five stars? It was falling off the bone tender, and the accompaniments took it to the next level, especially the cranberries and portabellas. Their chef is outstanding! All-in-all one of the best meals I've had since moving to Asheville two years ago. Very looking forward to going back and working my way through their whole menu. I do recommend reservations, as it tends to look busy every time I pass by.

This place is super cute. Outdoor seating for our pet friendly families. The food was good and has Italian and Mediterranean styles. The pizzas are good personal sizes as well. Big enough to share if you grab an appetizer too. We ordered the combo gyro and a Mediterranean bowl. Both meals were good. We also got the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer which was delicious and I highly recommend those. Unfortunately, my entree was pretty cold by the time I got it. We did wait a bit for our food and honestly, I think our waitress just forgot to give us our meal. Food was good but service is pretty slow. For the 2 of us, we waiting quite awhile.

Twisted Laurel is a great spot for delicious causal dining in AVL. Have been here multiple times and it's consistent. Was craving a salad and man did they not disappoint! Large serving, fresh ingredients, local brews and have a good bourbon selection. Philly was tasty. Fried Brussels sprouts are amazing.

This was our send time visiting here (mid-June), the first being in 2022 with us and our 2 dogs. This trip to Asheville was more of a family affair, with my sister, brother in law, and their dog coming along too. Their patio is very accommodating and pet friendly. We did have to wait an additional 30 minutes past our stated wait time when we got added to the list, which is why I knocked off a star. I'm not sure if they forgot about us or had drastically given out the wrong wait times, but we walked across the street to the park and hung out with the dogs there and listened to the concert going on across the street to kill some time, so that wasn't too bad. However, we were really hungry and had thought we'd be seated before we were and would have found somewhere else to eat if we had known how late it would be. Eventually, we decided to walk back over to check on our table and then said they could seat us right away, which lead us to believe we might have been forgotten about us. Our server was really friendly (and I am 99% sure he was our same server 2 years ago, and if so, that must mean they are a great place to work and treat their staff well because we see a lot of turnover in the service industry) and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. We each ordered different cocktails and they were delicious! I was so hungry by the time our food arrived that I forgot to take a photo before we started eating (I did snag one halfway through though), but my husband and I ordered the Pep Pep pizza and added local shrooms. It really hit the spot after a long day of walking around Asheville's steep streets with the dogs. I definitely recommend stopping in for a pet friendly meal if you're in town with your pup!

Solid downtown spot for a midday meal. We waited out a torrential rain storm here back in July on my bachelorette weekend after a spa treatment in the morning and all of us were famished by 3 PM. Portions were impressively sized and there was something for everyone. Just a couple blocks from the AC Marriott.

We ate here twice on our trip and both times the food was delicious!! Service was slightly slow but it is very dog friendly which we appreciated!! Also, if you sit outside, you have a lovely view of the fountains at the park.

Incredible food and ambiance, and service was impeccable. Perfectly located in the heart of downtown.

Love Twisted Laurel! My go-to meal is the trout. Trout is a must when in western NC. Great wine and cocktail list!

Pho! Bun! I say again: PHO! BUN!…read moreRIGHT HERE! Broadway's is still the same unassuming neighborhood bar it has always been. But friends, now it has Pho! And Bun! Really decent Pho! Really decent Bun! Flawless pho broth. Perfect noodles. Some of the tastiest bun I have ever eaten. (They call the bun "vermicelli", BTW.) Go there now and get you some Pho! And Bun!

So I find myself shaking my head that I'm even writing a review for Broadways. I only write food…read morereviews and a year or so ago I would never have thought to be writing a food review for this business, but here we are! I haven't actually been in Broadways since the change and was pleased to find it's still the same old place, just perhaps a little cleaner which is nice! We ordered three dishes to get a broad spectrum of their offerings, and well we got a wide variety of quality along with those dishes. At the recommendation of the chef I ordered the Pho and man I was not disappointed! A super flavorful broth that smelled divine was filled with perfectly cooked noodles and both meatballs and sliced beef. I inhaled it and loved every bite. I'd have given them a 5 star review if we'd stopped there. I'm a sucker for dumplings so we ordered the fried pork dumplings, they came a bit soggy with oil, a fast food chain tub of sauce and were unmemorable in flavor. I'd have given them a 3 star review based on just the dumplings. We decided to go for the Pad Thai special for our third dish and got it with chicken. The dish didn't really taste much like any Pad Thai I've ever had but wasn't unpleasant in sauce and noodle, it came with shrimp which was a little odd and the shrimp were a little bit over done. The killer here was the chicken. Have you ever microwaved raw chicken? You know how chewy and dry it gets? Well that's what was in our Pad Thai. It was really really bad. If this was the only thing we'd ordered I would have given them a 2 star review. That Pho though! Good enough that I will go back since the only other Pho I think is remotely as good is the recently renamed Pho R Us in south Asheville and I live a mere mile from Broadways. If I ever venture away from the Pho again and it's good I'll update this review rating!
