Their food is good and I like that they are accommodating to switching out 1 ingredient for another. The Hot and Sour soup was good, could have a been a little spicier but I didn't enjoy the amount of unnecessary dried red pepper seeds in this soup as they didn't add flavor just a texture I didn't enjoy. The Vegetable Soup was very good. The moo goo gai pan was ok, the kung pao chicken was delicious. The prices are good. The ambiance is nice and quiet with comfortable booths or tables. I know why it's named the Chow Mein house, they do have some very good chow Mein noodles. Overall we really liked the food. We ordered the family special "B". We also added some other dishes. With our order they gave us a free order of pot stickers: Combo fried rice - very good with large shrimp and flavor. Chicken chow Mein - the noodles are delicious and the texture is perfect. General Tso Chicken - this was the favorite of the night. The sauce has so much flavor and just the right amount of a piece. This is a must order item. Kung Pao Chicken - this is usually my go to item but this one lacked flavor. I was a little disappointed in this dish. It seemed a bit watered down. Mixed veggies - solid dish cooked perfectly you with a little crunch the way I like it. Potstickers I didn't try them, the egg rolls were solid. We really thought this was some good Chinese food. We will order again and there are some other dishes that I would love to try. It seemed like there were mostly to go orders coming in on this night. read more

Had a great lunch yesterday at Chow Mein House. I feel like i need to go because i noticed Mongolian Beef, and that's a favorite! My server was super speedy, and friendly. I ended up getting a Sprite as well, and he offered a second as he noticed Kyle enjoying it. There was three or four families eating there when i walked in, and i immediately had the feeling it was busy because they had been there before. There was quiet music playing that sounded like a trickling water. Everything was spotless and i noticed the floor was being swept as people left. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Came here the other night with my sister and nephew. Very quiet and comfortable. Food was delicious and very fast! We ordered : Katsu Chicken with best Katsu sauce I've ever had. Sweet and spicy 10/5 Orange Chicken 5/5 Steamed Dumplings 5/5 Sliced BBQ pork 5/5 Chicken Chow Mein 5/5 I really enjoyed everything as did the fam as it was almost all finished. But I really love Good Chicken Cutlets !!! And their Katsu version was really good and crispy!! Service was on point as my water was always filled with ice water and the cups they use are like those metal cups that freeze sorta like a Russian Mule. I like ice cold water. I always try to be fair and intentional with my reviews, and unfortunately this experience just didn't meet my expectations. Service was good attentive, polite, and very fast. My food came out within minutes, which was surprising. The space itself was nice and clean nothing fancy, but comfortable and well kept. I ordered shrimp tempura, shrimp chow mein, and combination chow mein. Flavor-wise, the chow mein was actually good and well-seasoned. However, the issue was consistency. Across both dishes, the top layer was warm, but underneath it was noticeably cold fridge cold and it was consistent throughout, not just a one-time bite. For me, temperature and execution are just as important as flavor, and this really took away from the experience. I didn't complain at the time I simply took the food to go and chose not to make it an issue there. But it did affect my appetite and overall impression. This may have been an off experience, and I hope others have a better visit, but based on mine, it's not a place I would return to. read more

I have frequented this restaurant often and endured the high prices for meals and the disrespectful restaurant workers talking about me in the kitchen. I stopped visiting because of this and was frustrated with the quality of the food for the higher price tag. Wonton soup is $16.00, pot stickers $14.95, and chicken lettuce wraps $19.95 just to list a few items. The daily lunch specials were pretty reasonable but are not offered on various food delivery apps. Maybe the higher prices are a result of the Summerlin location rent. But if you're going to price items high then the quality of the food should reflect the price, not the location. Ambience is very nice and the restaurant is fairly clean...the restroom could be cleaner. When I spend a dollar I want to feel like the service and product were worth the price and that I'm not being taken advantage of. read more

That's not what I wanted to express, I've tried the same exact rice at 2 other restaurants in Summerlin and this was the absolute best. Everything you want in Pork fried rice and more. Ordered port fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, egg drop soup. Extra dried noodles and duck sauce. Arrive for pickup....there is no order? Confirmed location/phone. The order went to new web service, the restaurant no longer answers the phone....and they don't have order? So I place order now we have real issues: Sorry we have no fried rice. I said ok use white. Sorry no white rice. I said honey shrimp comes with rice. Sorry no rice. ??? Ok I said adjust price and send honey walnut with no rice. Sorry price is same. How can that be, half a meal same price....??? We will send egg rolls or pork dumpling- ok? We settle, honey walnut shrimp no rice, but pork dumplings and egg drop soup, cancel pork fried rice. Now cost of one (half meal) and soup with dry noodles is now close to 40.00. Wait it gets better...we live 8 minutes away.. (we have ordered from here at least 25 times) Honey shrimp is hot and fresh cooked. Egg drop soup is lukewarm at best and pork dumplings are completely cold. Suggestion: maybe it's a bad night? Maybe new management? Maybe edge of bankruptcy? Call and make sure they have your order available BEFORE prepaying...showing up to half an order will be real mess after you prepared on website.. next time if we decide to go back (i doubt we will). I ordered the Mu Shu chicken for pickup. I should have checked the bag before I left because the pancakes and condiments were missing. The crazy thing is I asked for the crispy noodles and opened the bag to place them in there. The pancakes are why I get this dish. I could understand if they were busy, but they weren't. This spot if far from the Las Vegas strip but DEFINITELY worth the drive! I found this spot on Yelp, looking for small family owned Chinese joints. May I just say, WE WERE NOT THE LEAST BIT DISAPPOINTED! The prices were amazing, and extremely competitive, especially to its counterparts on the strip and even in ChinaTown. Extremely friendly and quick service. A clean restaurant nestled within a clean strip mall of other restaurants and stores. Now for the food, the food, is HOT, well seasoned, clean, and utterly delicious! I cannot recommend the Chow Mein noodles enough. Nor can my husband and I deny the utter deliciousness of the Mongolian Beef and the Szechuan Chicken.. WOW!!!! Absolute melt in your mouth with a burst of flavor, perfection. We also needed a bit more so we asked for a side of chili oil/sauce and vinegar. The condiments added the perfect pizazz! -Highly recommend you do the same. 1st time at Chow Mein House and it was very nice. The staff are friendly, the service is quick, and the food comes very hot. We got to the restaurant around 7, to which it was very busy. But by 8pm there were only a few occupied tables and the restaurant was quiet. We ordered the vegetable egg rolls, vegetable chow mein, and garden tofu. While you wait for your food, they give you a plate of fried wonton strips and sweet and sour sauce, which is so simple yet delicious. I would come back to Chow Mein House but next time make my food spicy since the food we ordered didn't have any spice. Originally, I tried the chow mein because who would name their restaurant after this dish if it wasn't spectacular, right? Well I was disappointed with the overly oily, non-seasoned, tasteless dish. But, how can I really judge with only one So, I recently returned to try something else. This time I tried the spicy salt n pepper shrimp. Sounded good on the menu. The shrimp was coated in an orange colored quite thick breading which actually didn't taste bad. However, the shrimp was a completely different experience. Shrimp was rock hard, over cooked, dry and inedible. Wound up throwing it away. I hated wasting my money on this dish. Maybe your experience is better. I won't be back. read more

I was pretty impressed with how fast my food came out, how reasonably priced it was, the friendly staff, and of course the food overall. They have a entire page of lunch specials all for about $12-13 and a very good portions of food. For example, the Kung Pao Chicken looks nothing like the fancy picture and the Orange Chicken was a neon bright radioactive orange color. Chow mien was flavorless. I went to Dinner with my Dad about 6 months ago and it was a 4.7 and so delicious. Today's lunch was good but dinner was better. Chow Fun was great, string beans were a little over cooked and the fried rice could have been better. I would recommend using real BBQ pork and add green onion for the look and taste of freshness. The waiter brings the tablet with my bill tip preselected to 22% and acted as if I wouldn't notice. Then he just says, 'you can select other'. Mind you that this tip is (of course) on top of tax.
