Omigosh, their food was ON FIRE! We haven't had Chinese in a while and after trying to figure out where to go, we just defaulted to China Gourmet. We ordered the chicken fried rice, beef chow fun, pork egg foo young and honey walnut shrimp. They were all excellent! Seriously one of the best Chinese meals we've ever had here in Vegas!! The chicken fried rice and beef chow fun were well cooked, with plenty of chicken/beef and veggies. And the chicken and beef pieces were so tender. The pork egg foo young, as usual, was awesome. And thank goodness the gravy for it is still damn good. The honey walnut shrimp had a... yellow-ish hue that caught me off guard, but after taking a bite, I dove in. The shrimp was sooo good!!! Honestly really good. We've gotten the singapore style noodles, egg foo young, black pepper chicken, and salt and pepper tofu/fish. My favorite is the singapore style noodles - mild spice levels but so much flavor. Really savory and delicious - my favorite in town for sure. If you want a legit salt and pepper tofu or fish, this is some of the best I've found in Vegas. The egg foo young is really good when we're feeling like it, and the black pepper chicken is sit-down restaurant quality you'd expect to find at a nice Cantonese restaurant. I wanted General Tso's Chicken and it's getting harder to find somewhere that makes it good. I didn't want Panda Express , but something close to it and Panda doesn't do General Tso's and they quit selling my favorite Sweet Fire Chicken Breast a long time ago. Well this was my first time and last time coming here. I got the Lunch Special which was very reasonably priced. I guess you get what you paid for. The lady that took my order was nice and the cooks were busy making fresh food for a few customers. Dining area was clean as I waited for my to go order. My food was hot and they gave me good size portions. The problem was the food itself. The cashier asked if I wanted it Spicy and I said yes. It was not spicy. In fact it had hardly any sauce on it at all. The chicken pieces were very dry. General Tso's comes with pineapple and green peppers. There was one piece of pineapple and one piece of green pepper and one piece of broccoli. I ended up putting sweet and sour sauce that I had packets of from another restaurant from before because it was so dry and tasteless. The fried rice was also bland and I added soy sauce to. The noodles were fat which I thought would make them taste better , but nope , the same tasteless and not very good. I added soy sauce to it too. We just spent over $76 on a few dishes; combo fried rice, Mongolian beef, wonton soup and salted pepper chicken wings. We got 2 of the rice dishes and beef dishes. The flavors were very bland compared to other places we've tried. Coming from CA, we're use to better Chinese food than we've had here, but China Gormet was the worse in terms of flavor. The food was decent but what the big turn off was everything down to the hot tea was served on styrofoam plates and cups plus plastic utensils. Delicious and traditional Chinese food. The lunch dishes are very affordable and the portions are very large. I can't even seem to finish half of a lunch portion but the rest is so good the next day as the perfect leftovers. The staff is friendly and I usually call ahead to place our orders and everything is ready to go and they've never screwed up anyone's order. Thank you for that. I have been coming here for 6 years now give or take... this place has never failed me. Friendly staff and food is always FRESH and fire! I usually get the lunch special to go for my whole fam but today we decided to dine in. Got the Mongolian beef lunch special, they started with egg drop soup first. Yum. I was never a big fan but that soup was the perfect starter for how hungry I was. Next came the food... perfectly seasoned beef! That was straight up BUTTER! Onions and peppers were so tasty I had to finish that. In my pic I've already eaten about 1/4 of the plate so portions are really nice here. Noodles were good. Rice was good, I added hot sauce after. I randomly stopped by this place because I haven't seen this place around. I ordered the hong style crispy noodle with gravy, Mongolian beef, and the spicy calamari. The best dish out of the 3 was the Hong Kong style crispy noodles.....but...I have to say, if you don't like your food sweet, you will not like this place.....the Mongolian beef was very sweet, and not really my style, but was decent. The spicy calamari, wasn't too crispy but a bit on the softer side. The base is a salt and pepper calamari and they added a bit of heat to bit. China Gourmet is my official Vegas go-to for nights when I'm too lazy to cook, but too picky to settle for mediocre takeout. Ordering delivery is literally as easy as 1-2-3: 1. Open app. 2. Select way too many dishes for one human. 3. Pretend there's a whole family here when the delivery guy arrives. My standards for Chinese food are unreasonably high. While nothing can top those NYC flavors from back home, China Gourmet seriously comes close enough that I don't even complain (and trust me, I always complain). Egg rolls crispier than my last sunburn, fried rice fluffier than hotel pillows, and portions generous enough to feed an army or at least one hangry New Yorker. In our years of dining at this homey spot in Summerlin, with a friendly & efficient staff, we've not had a mediocre experience. Their noodle entrees are not to be missed, nor are the specialties. The food was not the same as before, everything we ordered was either bland or off taste.

Based on numerous take outs, the food taste, quantity and quality are good. I've tried several dishes and they all seem to taste good. But... Yeah, there's always a 'but' isn't there? I don't care for them turning the credit card machine with suggested tip on a take out. I prefer the old way where tipping was based on quality of service and it was more passive with a tip jar as opposed to 'in your face' guilt tipping. And the people working there aren't the most friendlies of bunch. As most Chinese restaurants, the workers have zero personality, lack the friendliness of customer interaction and the selection of words are abrupt and almost rude. Maybe it's the language barrier.
